This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

>>New Map<<

I've started you in a basic pattern. Feel free to modify

EDIT Gobbo token in front of Karrin is the one she icified. Take no notice of the poor bugger.

(Bribes always welcome)

Rd 1 initiative:

Merle: 22
Eir: 21
Karrin: 21
Greep: 21
Swift: 21
Gobbos: 18

Merle, Swift and Greep fade into hiding spots. Eir and Karrin stand alone as a group of goblins advances from the south. They can see some to the north as well, but they are not advancing, they seem to be preoccupied at the moment.

Batter up!

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Merle will take her ready action and aiming to get as many goblins as possible cast a grease spell on the advancing group dc 14 reflex or fall prone (max I can get is 4 I think) Swift will wait till one run rushes by where she is hiding or at Merle and then shoot it.

swifts Attack
1 d 20 +6=26

confirmation

1 d 20 +6=24

Damage Critical + sneak

2 d 4 + 2d6=8

(female Tiefling 7th level Duskblade)

Karrin would have moved to R7 and then quaffed her potion.

S7, No way I'm gettting the Malachi crunch.

(Bribes always welcome)

Eir Haakonen wrote:
S7, No way I'm gettting the Malachi crunch.

*snort* hadn't heard that phrase in a while. Was that Happy Days?

>>Updated rd 1 map<<

The goblins by the Goblin House are not advancing, rather milling around up top.

(Bribes always welcome)

Merle's cantrip coats the ground in front of the advancing goblins all 4 failed. Four goblins in front go down hard. Swift leaps from the corner, burying her blade deep into the kidneys of a goblin in the next row. he collapses with a groan. The goblins begin to spread out, one older goblin hanging back and barking orders.

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

"Hah that'll show ya."

Yes. Demolition derby.

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

For the next rounds action swift will go for one of the goblins that is on the ground Whilst Merle will use Magic missile O one of the still standing ones.

(Will wait to see what everyone else does before doing dice rolls since I think I may be getting ahead of myself here.)

Can I 5 foot step to S8 or is there grease there?

(Bribes always welcome)

No grease at S8

Eir puts the nearest gobbo (S9) to the sword.

Right Saber: 1d20+6=24, 1d8+3=9

If he goes down the next attack goes to his little buddy (T9), if not hit him (S9) again:

Left Saber: 1d20+5=25, 1d8+2=4

Left Saber confirm critical: 1d20+5=25, 1d8+2=4

Holy crap, rolls 1918706 and 1918706 are identical. IC I love you, baby!

(Bribes always welcome)

Eir sticks her first saber in one prone goblin, killing him instantly. Her other saber cuts into another, taking his head off cleanly, the small green surprised face spinning into the brightening dawn.

(Bribes always welcome)

Rd 1 initiative:

Merle: 22 [grease]
Eir: 21 [saberwork]
Karrin: 21 [drinking potion/pending]
Greep: 21 [pending]
Swift: 21 [SNEAK ATTACK!!]
Gobbos: 18 [attacking]

Just need Karrin and Greep's actions, then I will advence the story

(female Tiefling 7th level Duskblade)

Greep is turning invisible . . . by which I mean stealth:

1d20 13=30

He will then take a double move to I14

Perception:1d20 7=14

Karrin on the other hand can't do anything. It was a move action to get to her current location and a standard action to drink the potion. Karrin now occupies 4 squares and has reach. All she can do now is take AoO.

(Bribes always welcome)

Rodger Dodger. Will attempt to get a revised map up soon ... going to be AFK for a bit

(Bribes always welcome)

Karrin feels everything getting smaller around her as the potion takes effect. The narrow passage between the two low-sung buildings seems constricting when she finishes expanding.

Greep sneaks over to the Goblin House area by flitting among the parked wagons. He sees a bunch of goblins chasing around as bits of garbage, broken barrel staves and stones come raining down from the thickly-thatched roof of their barracks. The kobolds are doing their best to distract the goblins while waiting on Wightscale to arrive. Greep can see many more goblins beginning to emerge from the barracks, strapping on armor and weapoons as they emerge.

Swift prepares as a goblin tries to brain her with a morningstar

1d20+2=19, 1d6=6

The spiked ball thumps her hard in the ribs.

A large form emerges from the shadows behind the older goblin, snorting and pawing the air. It looks like a large bear. The older goblin chants over the creature, waving its staff over its hulking frame.

A goblin screeches and twirls a morningstar at Eir.

1d20+2=6, 1d6=5

U9 to T8 and attacking

The small humanoid misses

Round 2!!

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Merle will five foot step to r14 pull out that wand of lightning bolt and try and fry the bear and the shaman

Use magic device

1 d 20 + 7=18

Damage

5 d 6=21 (Dc 13 reflex for half)

Swift will five foot step back to S 14 (After Merle has used the wand) change to her crossbow and shoot the bear

To hit

1 d 20 + 6=22

Damage (assuming its a light crossbow)

1 d 6=6

Eir, 5 foot step to T9.

1d20+6=12, 1d8+3=10

1d20+5=8, 1d8+2=5

Lots of missing.

(Bribes always welcome)

Everyone roll me an INT check

(female Tiefling 7th level Duskblade)

1d20 3=4, 1d20 3=19

Karrin seems to be having problems adjusting to her new body, but Greep remains pretty astute.

(female Tiefling 7th level Duskblade)

Karrin moves into area S9

Balance:1d20 3=12

Using her reach she takes a swing at the bear:
attack, damage, frost (1d20 9=28, 3d6 9=15, 1d6=6)
28 to hit, 21 damage.

Greep continues to creep, double moving to E13

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Merle intelligence check

1 d 20 + 2=18

Swifts int check

1 d 20 + 2=17

(Bribes always welcome)

All those who pass a DC 10 int check

Spoiler:
Wightscale's final words before you followed Freggek to the tunnel flit across your brain as you hear more goblins boiling out of their barracks up north

"Wightscale wrote:

"We'll be ready to make our attack when you signal."

Wightscale hands the party a small whistle.

"Blow three times for the go ahead. One long blast for abort." He instructs."

Dungeon Monkey wrote:

** spoiler omitted **

Spoiler:
Err who had the whistle again?
(Bribes always welcome)

Merle:

Spoiler:
Well, considering Merle tried to open the gate, I would assume her

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Merle realising things may not be going as well as planned will draw the whistle and blow on it hard three times. Also when she uses the wand she will try to get the small door in the range of the bolt as well. If its possible to use the whistle and wand in the same round that is

(Bribes always welcome)

Rd 2 initiative:

Merle: 22 [L bolt/whistle]
Eir: 21 [saberwork]
Karrin: 21 [attack bear]
Greep: 21 [sneak]
Swift: 21 [crossbow]
Gobbos: 18 [attacking]

Merle flips the whistle to her lips and blows three shrill blasts. She then casts a bolt of electricity out of her wand, striking both the shaman and his bear. They both fry as a clap of thunder booms across the compound. The postern door isn't really doable and get the two in line

Karrin steps out of the alleyway and squares off against the bear. It was in the process of moving forward when struck by the lightning bolt, well within reach. Ferissirion licks out and bites deep into the ursine. The brown pelt of the bear is frosted over with rime as the cold explodes from the wound. The bear roars, enraged.

Eir crosses weapons with a goblin, but fails to find her rhythm. Swift sends a bolt winging into the side of a goblin attacking her.

The goblins felled by Merle's Grease spell roll out and pop up, ready for action. One goes for Merle, morningstar a whirl:

1d20+2=3, 1d6=5

The goblin watches in horror as his morningstar slips from his greasy palm, skittering down towards the wagons.

The goblin Eir spars with tries another blow

1d20+2=21, 1d6=4,

The spiked ball thumps her leg painfully.

another tries to hit the enlarged Karrin:

1d20+2=18, 1d6=6,

The spike hits her along a shin.

Two attempt to hit Swift:

1d20+2=7, 1d6=5, 1d20+2=3, 1d6=5

Neither manages to hit the nimble tibbit.

The mangled bear bellows a challenge and swipes at Karrin

1d20+11=13, 1d8+8=12

The maddened ursine misses completely

The shaman goblin chants and mutters, but seems to take no aggressive action

Round three!

<A little distracted by the arterial spray that splattered her silky hair in the first exchange, Eir shrugs off the minor wound to her leg and fights half heatedly.>

Right saber: 1d20+6=12, 1d8+3=9

Left saber: 1d20+5=13, 1d8+2=6

Taldor (Male hu-man Paladin)

Pat:

Spoiler:
Quick point! When those Goblins try to stand up they Provoke AoO against anyone that threatens them and I believe that means Eir or Karrin could take a swing at the goblin in S10 and Karrin could attack the goblin in S11. Karrin doesn't have combat reflexes so she can't take more then one AoO so it's either or. Also, any goblin (like the ones attacking Merle or swift), that take more then a five foot step in or out of Karrin's threatened area also provoke AoO against Karrin.

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Merle will five foot step to Q13 and use the wand of lightning bolt on all three (since the goblin dropped its weapon I don't think it gets an AoO)

Use magic device

1 d 20 + 7=21

Damage

5 d 6=22 (dc 13 reflex for half

swift will back away from the goblins and if the goblin is still alive shoot it with her crossbow otherwise she will shoot the bear

Swifts Attack (using old one since she didn't attack last turn)1 d 20 + 6=22

Damage (assuming light crossbow)

1 d 6=6

(Bribes always welcome)

Guy: You are correct! I didn't remember the AoOs, good catch

Merle Barer wrote:

Yup ..he gots nuttin

Merle Barer wrote:
Swifts Attack (using old one since she didn't attack last turn)

But she did! She drilled a hole in one of the gobbos! (see previous DM post).

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Ah my bad

New roll for swifts attack

1 d 20 +6=8

(female Tiefling 7th level Duskblade)

Dungeon Monkey wrote:

Guy: You are correct! I didn't remember the AoOs, good catch

Karrin will take an AoO against one of the goblins charging Merle or Swift (preferably Merle as she's a spell caster).

Attack of Opportunity, damage, cold (1d20 9=15, 3d6 9=16, 1d6=4)

Karrin will take her regular attack against the bear.

Attack, damage, cold (1d20 9=25, 3d6 9=17, 1d6=4)

Greep continues on his stealthy path, making it to E9 this turn.

"I hate Goblins."

(Bribes always welcome)

Rd 3 initiative:

Merle: 22 [L bolt the gobbos]
Eir: 21 [hating gobbos]
Karrin: 21 [attack bear/AoO]
Greep: 21 [sneak]
Swift: 21 [crossbow & a miss]
Gobbos: 18 [attacking]

Merle's lightning bolt fries the two goblins near her. Another loud thunderclap echoes across the compund. The nauseously appetizing smell of cooked goblin wafts along in the early-morning air.

Karrin got an AoO last round, so I am retconning the gobbos near you to reflect only two.

Eir looks about, hating her foe

Any chance of a roll?

Karrin's backhanded slice on one of the goblins popping up from the grease patch hits him square in the manly (gobbly?) bits. Ferissirion doesn't stop moving until it reaches the ribcage. The goblin freezes solid with a surprised look on his face, then a large part of him shatters into frozen bite-size gobbo bits.

Karrin swings Ferissirion back and catches the bear square in the head. The blue axe strikes true, cleaving the large animal's skull in twain. The large bear drops to the ground, giving out one last moan. The party can hear a screech from the shaman in the back:

HAAR DAAL O DHUUCH!

Goblin:

Spoiler:
**GET THEM YOU FOOLS!**

Swift tries another crossbow bolt, but the shot is wide. The one she winged is sorely hurt though, only a matter of time before blood loss fells him. Swift gets the feeling he wont get the luxury of dying from simple blood loss though.

Greep continues to creep

A roll from Eir and I will adjucate the goblins

I could be wrong but I think Eir already posted a few entries up

No you are right. I am half-asleep. Thanks for the point out ..

The following is a retconned action sequence by the DM what failed his Perception check:

Eir cannot seem to hit the quick-moving goblin that vexes her.

EDIT: Also looking back, I see that Swift had nothing to shoot at near her since Merle had already blasted said gobbos. Mea Culpa. I need to focus more, ugh. Since she missed, I'll just say she tried to wing one of the others...goes to get some coffee

(Bribes always welcome)

The two goblins left are unhappy, but see no option but to go down swinging

The one on Eir winds up:

1d20+2=16, 1d6=2,

He comes up a bit short, the blow just glancing off her armor.

The one on Karrin indulges in some ankle-biting

1d20+2=16, 1d6=2

His blow also comes up just a bit short, spanging off her armor as well.

The shaman chants something and disappears in a swirl of smoke

The goblins to the north are forming up and readying javelins, they should be ready to attack next round.

NEW ROUND!

>>END OF ROUND 3 MAP<<

The green blob is a big smoke bank that has just appeared where the shaman was.

(Female catfolk sorceror 7)

Feline

Spoiler:
"Swift get the door and let the others in."

With that said Merle will move to N 18 and once again blast the goblins with more lightning

Use magic device

1d20 + 7=8

Uh oh Natural one

"Uh we may have a problem."

Swift will circle round the fog cloud and open the door.

(female Tiefling 7th level Duskblade)

Karrin attacks the goblin in R10

attack, damage, frost (1d20 9=14, 3d6 9=19, 1d6=1)

Karrin will then take a 5ft step back into the alleyway

"I trust the gate is open and our friends have been summoned?" Karrin asks in draconic, "if it has, you guys scatter and try to break this hoard up!"

"Eir take out that little twerp and get behind me," Karrin says indicating the spot that the goblin currently occupies in T8, "anything goes for a slide you dice it up. I also might need you to fix me. This is gonna get ugly before it gets better."

Greep sneak attacks the goblin in K10:
Attack, damage, sneak attack b+@*#! (1d20 5=23, 1d6=2, 1d6=5)

Greep then Ninja vanishes to E7:
stealth (1d20 13=15)

(Bribes always welcome)

Rd 3 initiative:

Merle: 22 [wand bolo]
Eir: 21 [pending]
Karrin: 21 [swing and a miss]
Greep: 21 [NINJA!!!!!!!!!]
Swift: 21 [going to door]
Gobbos: 18 [attacking]

Karrin swings Ferissirion at the goblin who has been pestering her. She just misses, the blue axe slicing over his head.

Karrin hops back to the alleyway and calls out her message in Draconic. She hears a soft voice from the thatched roof of the Gobin House:

Draconic Whisper:

Spoiler:
**We're heading to the tunnel now. We can't stand against these gobbo filth. Best of luck tiefling, may Kurtulmak bless your axe with potency!**

Merle moves to try and get the goblins in line for a lightning bolt. She raises the wand in a flourish, but something goes awry. The copper pyramid at the top of the wand is suddenly covered in a nimbus of bright light, which then fades. No lightning issues forth.

Greep stabs one of the goblins in the kidneys, then fades into the background. The goblin falls silently to the ground.

Swift heads through the fog to where she remembers seeing the gate before. The colored smoke swirls about her, making seeing difficult.

Jus get Eir and we shall move ahead!

Right Saber: 1d20+6=26, 1d8+3=10

Confirm critical: 1d20+6=20, 1d8+3=6

That's 16 hits from the right!! Golblin salad - snickety snackt. If he's dead then 5 foot step toward the shaman, and ...

Left Saber: 1d20+5=14, 1d8+2=9

(Bribes always welcome)

Eir's first attack fells the goblin that vexed her these past few moments. He cries in pain as the serrated blade drinks deep of his blood. Eir moves towards the goblin Karrin had fought You said shaman, but he is way away in the middle of the fog bank, so I am assuming you meant the other gobbo but fails to land her second blow.

The goblin Karrin had fought and that Eir just missed bellows a curse and brings his morningstar around to lash the saber maiden:

ATK on Eir: 1d20+2=6, 1d6+1=5

He fails to connect, the spiked ball whizzing in front of Eir

The goblins to the north spot Merle trying to fry them. One calls out:

A sharaar! Haar mel!

Goblin:

Spoiler:
**A caster! Get him!** Obviously gobbos aren't very observant to catfolk secondary sexual characteristics, LOL

Four of the goblins toss their javelins at the hapless Merle

1d20+3=18, 1d4=4, 1d20+3=10, 1d4=4, 1d20+3=22, 1d4=1, 1d20+3=19, 1d4=3

Three strike the catfolk sorceror, wounding her sorely

8 HP taken

The other seven goblins toss their javelins at Eir and Karrin.

1d20+3=12, 1d4=2, 1d20+3=4, 1d4=1, 1d20+3=4, 1d4=4, 1d20+3=15, 1d4=1, 1d20+3=15, 1d4=4, 1d20+3=14, 1d4=1, 1d20+3=12, 1d4=1

The small spears land harmlessly around the two.

Swift makes it to the gate door, batting through the colored fog. As she prepares to open the postern door's locking bar, something slams into her hard:

1d20+6=19, 1d6+5=8

A solid block of earth and stone pile-drives the small tibbit, crushing the wind out of her.

NEW ROUND!!!
