Chronicles of the Silver Rose Company

Game Master Patrick Curtin

This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

Glad to hear that!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Okay! School is done! This means I can update without guilt! Expect updates hopefully early Wednesday! YAY!

Sovereign Court

Male hu-man Paladin

Yay!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Since you guys nuked the wraith, you got an even earlier update. Yay!

Sovereign Court

Male hu-man Paladin

I saw, I saw, but I didn't have time to think of a Karrin-esk assessment of the situation, I had the chance to rectify that now.

LOL,

I luv this group. :)

Holy smokes!

THAT is a nice dagger!

And i luv the background! Nice Pat! :)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

It might come in handy some time :)

Yeaaaahh,....

THAT'S what worries me. :/

(When the monkey smiles, you know your in trouble!) :)

I expect that Hamar would be the best for the dagger. He doesn't get the feats that he gets with his scimitars, but against incorporeal it's better.

I'm interested that it was specified as a throwing dagger. This is an intelligence test because anybody who is throwing this weapon is either foolish or very desperate.

Yes. This. ;P

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

I had made it a throwing dagger because its main purpose was to butterfly pinion a creature to the spot, allowing you to attack via other means. By casting dimensional anchor when it hits, it doesn't allow mobs to gate away or dimension door.

LOL
Yes, THAT makes sense from the weapon-makers standpoint. :)

I think I defaulted to thinking of such a potentially powerful weapon as the 'main weapon' of a character. ;P

And think of it, when your playing a game, and the GM says, "you have been hit by 2 throwing daggers", how many of us actually think to say 'I pull out the daggers'?!? :/

That's brilliant design actually, both in and meta-gaming! :)

Hmm, seems Karrin is still thinking about that bell. Maybe she'll take a few levels as bard with the Bell as a musical instrument.

Or an occultist focusing on abjuration...

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Hi all.

I find myself tied up with job procurement intensely. I apologize I haven't updated recently. I'm attempting to carve out some time this afternoon.

Procure away Pat!

A Monkey with a job means a monkey with a happy bank account, (and hopefully 'regular hours') and that means a happier monkey with more time to play games!

We all win! :D

Your reasoning is sound. I will allow this job procurement.

Break a leg - but not on the guy you're interviewing with.

Unless you think it would help.

Hamar finds breaking legs or the threat of such, makes many people agreeable that were previously uncooperative...

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Maybe I should hire Hamar to stand behind me and glower as I interview

Yup same here

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Ah well. I hoped it would work. I guess not. I'll figure some other way

Ditto here.

Hey, we don't know if we don't try! :)

I haven't gotten on at all last week, no time at home, and couldn't get through at work. I presumed that work was blocking Paizo for some reason, although they have not done that for 10 years prior, :/

I'll catch up!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

This is the first day it has been working good for me. New type of map up. I'm working on getting this combat cobbled together

I see the map!

What type of damage is their base damage? Bludgeoning? Fire? Negative energy? Emotional?

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Fire AND negative. They are a double threat

Ex-human meat shield. HP 121/182 PP 19/27 Current Effects: Deathwatch; Reconfigure 3/4 -stalwart - cold resist +flight 40' Good

Good, then I should take no damage.

LOL
Cuz Arnav is a double threat too! :)

And HEy! I can see the map! :)

Folks, I'm really sorry I've been fairly MIA. I'm going through some significant personal issues right now, and I have little time (and honestly, little enthusiasm) for much of anything. I hope it won't go on much longer, but please DMPC Ekuur as necessary for now. Sorry again.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Not a problem Bryan. Take your time. We'll be here when you are done

Real life happens, and sometimes you just gotta deal with it. I hope you resolve your issues quickly and well.

Just a quick heads up:

The job situation might be accelerating soon. I might have an offer that entails me moving. I will keep you appraised, but it might mean an extended hiatus until I am resettled. Thank you for your patience

-Patrick

Best of luck!

Good luck Pat! Prayers for you too!

This feels like a Gygaxian trap to me

Yeah. Me too. :(

But,... if we DON'T try to open it, we'll never know! ;P

Darn Pandora's box/catch 22 GM traps! ;)

You mention "Pandora's box/catch 22 GM traps" and then we find a deck of cards. I blame you.

Y'all are too damn paranoid.

It's because we've played this game before :D

Patrick Curtin wrote:

Dang straight!

1) Are you familiar with the 80's era RPG 'Paranioa'?
The quote on the back of the original game box,
"Just because your paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you!"

2) One of my old college gaming buddies used to LOVE playing the old artifact-deck-of-cards thing with our players. (There must have been dozens of those dang things floating around his game world, as often as we ran into them) So, yeah, I can't even look at a regular deck of cards today without cringing! :)

Who knows? Maybe the cards are just a nice set of tarot? It could happen..,

It COULD happen,...

Just, you know, not to OUR PC's! :)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Hi folks.

I just wanted to drop another line. Things are accelerating, and I really think that my posting rate will be kind of spotty running into August. I am hoping that my life evens out before the summer is over, but with a new job, a new city, and a new apartment it might be a lot to handle.

I enjoy being your GM. I do apologize that my posting hasn't been as frequent as it was in earlier parts of my life. Bear with me, and I will do my best to advance the storyline. Just please accept that there will be delays and that I am still here, and still dedicated to the games.

Thanks!
