Chronicles of the Silver Rose Company

Game Master Patrick Curtin

This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

Well, I updated the basic stuff like BAB, hit points, and saves. The rest is gonna take a while. I realized I don't remember what most of her feats even do, which makes picking her bonus feat this level a bit challenging, and I done goofed on her powers known so I have to do a complete audit. I'm scared to think of how much I may have goofed on skills. >.<

I am a bit messy with my character sheets with a tendency to level in a hurry and call it good enough and I swear I always end up having to start over from scratch and check all the maths at least twice a campaign. IRL or online, same problem. :)

Sure! Sounds good

Yeah, I don't Maths. (Any more than I have too)

BOO! PC death!

Yay! Dramatic death & Nice send off! :)

(Lets admit it, that was MUCH better than dying due to a goblin arrow or Kobold trap!) :P

Yay! Level! :/

LOL! I JUST finally got Justin updated (properly) from last time! ;P

I'll work on him when I can. Soon,... :)

FYI, I'll be out of town almost 2 weeks straight (Visit family in Oklahoma, and then take kids to Space Camp! With visits to work in between.) But I will have internet access, (Time? We'll see) so I'll check in as regularly as I can.

female elan Psion (Kineticist) 10

Alright. I had somehow managed to mess up (in no particular order) hit points, initiative bonus, armor class, saves, skill points were totally borked and I had to just rebuild those from scratch, and a couple of goofs in powers known, also power points per day were wrong, and....I think that's it. Probably. Mostly. It's amazing how small errors really compound over a few levels. Anyhow I fixed all of it and finished the level raise. So Nari should be all good to go now. :)

Looking good seph!

Lol. I find it kind of funny he has more HP than a lion. I know HP isn't just a metric of damage absorption , but it still tickles my early-morning funnybone

So congratulations guys. Been really busy last couple days ad only just read the posts since Rhiannon's death. The reaction posts......free flowing tears.....which has never happened to me before in any game.

Bravo all of you.

D'aaaaww, I'm glad we could make that more real. I know some games view PC death as routine, bring extra characters to put into the grinder, but this doesn't feel like one of those games. Death has to mean something in a narrative driven game and I'm glad it struck a note. I feel this game deserves something like this.

Agreed, +1.

Justin is just now realizing that he never really got to know Rhiannon all that well. And now he feels guilty about that.

I love this game! :)

That's the funny thing about familiars, especially sorcerer's familiars, they get smarter as you level and seeing as a sorcerer doesn't need INT they can quickly became more knowledgeable then you if you have any ranks in any knowledge skill.

Tristan Lidu's familiar, Hop-Toy Dan (bonus points if you can guess why he's called that without reading the journal) was wiser then Tristan, and thus he quickly became her voice of reason in the journal.

Aw no fair!
I already got that far in the journal! ;P

Justin is mostly updated, HP, skills, etc.
Need to pick lvl 10 bonus Feat (I have my list, just need to actually pick) :) and his new spells once we get to 'safety'.

Oh, and, WOW, That is a LOT of loot! :D

AND I'm off on my trip in about half an hour. See you all later! :)

I don't pay you guys enough. You are 10th level and you've never had a big score. It was time. Plus I tried to put in something for everyone

Oh, speaking of, if anyone wants to post up a wish list of possible items you'd like your character to eventually have, I can work them (slowly) into the game

Drizzt's Anklets of Speed - because a Dervish can't get enough speed!

Belt of Giant Strength.

Those are probably the two items that make the most sense for Hamar.

As we level Feats are what will make Hamar really efficient, Improved Initiative, Improved Critical, Improved Skirmish are next on the list but which one first?!

I would love for Nari to get a psi crown of fiery ruin at some point, but it's a very expensive item, so I would expect that point to still be pretty far in the future. :)

Aside from that the only thing that I would want for her would be better bracers of armor, and she can always buy those for herself once we get back to town. She's really not very item dependent anyways. :)

Ooh, tough choice! I'd go with Improved Critical first I think, but any of those are such a good choice that I don't think there's actually a wrong decision.

I was thinking the same thing a 40% chance to critical on each attack is brutal, especially when I have 4 a round.

I almost forgot Greater Two Weapon Fighting when my base attack gets high enough, 6 attacks per round, 7 when hasted!

Wow. Remind me not to tick Hamar off!
He'd drop me before I got out the first spell! ;P

I'm thinking of having Philo's character Arnav arrive s bit sooner. I'm thinking perhaps he and Blayze were part of the same party that got ambushed. Arnav could show up looking for her.

All, very sorry I haven't been able to post more; we've been extremely busy on this trip and have had much less time than expected. This weekend won't be any better, as a group of us are taking off to visit Florence. I hope to have more time by the middle of next week, but as before, please DMPC Ekuur as needed. I expect to level him up as soon as I get a longer break.

FYI, Ekuur does have the ability to cast raise dead on Rhiannon, but I was gathering from the posts that this was a pretty good "exit" and that we would sort of hand-wave that off.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Yeah I figured we were going to have her exit somehow anyway, so this was a nice way.

Fierenze! Che bella! Say hello to il Duomo for me (Or is that Milan? I get confused sometimes)

Ex-human meat shield. HP 121/182 PP 19/27 Current Effects: Deathwatch; Reconfigure 3/4 -stalwart - cold resist +flight 40' Good

When you look like Arnav does, having a paladin vouch for you is invaluable. It also avoids the "Hmmm... This person we found chained up in the dungeon looks trustworthy."

Since he hasn't been around long, he and Blayze wouldn't have that much experience together, but she'd probably know the basics. He comes from a material plane without a lot of portals. Guns are new to him, but he's seen how well you've used them. He's human but changed and still wrapping his head around this. You've seen that he's more than willing to put himself between danger and others and hold the line.

Had you worked out anything about our ... less fortunate ... allies?

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Ok, I'll write you an intro scene. Stay tuned :)

Ex-human meat shield. HP 121/182 PP 19/27 Current Effects: Deathwatch; Reconfigure 3/4 -stalwart - cold resist +flight 40' Good

Okay, I added some details about how he "died". I think that it makes for a good explanation as to why they didn't try to find him.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

I figured just he and Blayze were left, but that should be fine.

Sweet!
"Allo Arnav!"

Female awww, but that would be telling unknown

In the middle of family stuff because holiday weekend. Pretty sure I'm not the only one. Between that and the confusion about when Arnav got there because the scene had moved on quite a bit from the end of the fight and he was supposed to have gotten there at the end of the fight and that's mostly what happened. It's not a personal slight. Sorry about the confusion. I'm sure we'll have it all sorted by Tuesday. :)

I'm not trying to ignore you, it's just first time you mentioned Blaze who was underground at the time. I thought it best to wait till she's topside before Karrin addresses you. Believe me I can't wait to get you into the group. But right now I'm waiting on one person.

Hamar, Justin, Blayze, and Merle are all in the Tomb at the moment so they do not see you :-)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Arnav/Philo, I think there had been some confusion. I probably should have waited until the group wasn't split and there wasn't a lot of confusion. Ekuur/Bryan is AFK in Italy at the moment, so it's just Karrin and Nari above ground. I also didn't expect the long period of talking Memnon would engender. I'll take responsibility for this, I planned it poorly.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Oh yeah, and starting this going into Canada Day/4th of July has also added to the confusion. Mea culpa. Mea maxima culpa.

Sorry Philo, Justin (meaning me) likes to talk and drag stuff out. I wasn't helping.

(I like the sound of my own voice IRL too.) ;P

On a happier note: There is no real game stats for Mimirs. They occupy a strange space between magic item and creature. The 2nd Edition was also famous for not statting things out and leaving it up to the DM.

I'd like to entertain ideas for Memnon's abilities. Despite his braggadocio, he cannot cast spells, nor does he posses fire ray eyes. He does have an extensive knowledge of spellcraft and high ranks in crafting magical items. He has no offensive capabilities, and his skull home isn't all that tough. He is very maneuverable with his innate levitation. So, any thoughts how I should handle him?

Just treat it as a magical item, giving an automatic aid other on all knowledge checks

Maybe allow it to have 3/day a few low level sight spells, like see invisible and maybe 1/day Arcane Sight.

Realistically you're just using it as a DM voice I'd think so if it sometimes has powers greater then that then that's fine, but that's probably what I'd go with as a base. Ether that or treat him as a familiar.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Yeah I didn't respond initially because by the time you approached, I wasn't where you saw me so woudn't immediately be able to respond. You should find yourself fully engaged now as Karrin's in "Who the hell are you and what do you want" mode and Blayze just came topside and is really happy to see someone she knows.

I like these ideas.

I am introducing a Mimir in my table top game when we come back from our summer break (3.5 game). My plan was just to have the Mimir be a Sage of all Knowledges for the party, though I may incorporate some of Guy's ideas :-). I am running the module For Duty & Deity so they will have a brief stint on the Infinite Staircase (maybe the Cage) then onto the Abyss.

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

I might give it a similar power to bards: The Loremaster

So, if you HAD to 'Stat it up', It would be basically an intelligent magical item, With skill Knowledge:(Yes) in all (Most?) K: skills, A decent AC due to maneuverability/dex, and possibly a couple of sight spells (On itself only) and an occasional use of Bardic Knowledge? (1/day max?)

Sounds easy enough, just don't ask me to compute the Creation cost for one of those! ;P

And welcome to the thread Arnav! :)
