Chronicles of the Silver Rose Company
Game Master
Patrick Curtin
This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.
A quick question for the rules gurus among us. Ekuur is about to suffer a beating of catboy and wood chunks. I can't really get a feeling for the damage I should assign for this. Any thoughts?

The telekinesis spell says that thrown objects that are fairly light do 1 point of damage while heavier, denser objects do about 1d6. So a 50 pound piece of wood would be 1d6 and maybe 1d3 for the lighter ones?
The telekinetic force power says in the description that it's 1d6 per 25 lbs for heavy objects (like rocks) and 1 point per 25 lbs for light objects like empty barrels. They leave a lot of room in there for GM interpretation.
So Kevin, in honor of Merle healing the Warpwood, I am in mind of having the World Tree grant her a boon, aside from a green tree on her back. Is there any plant-related power (not too munchkinny, mind) that you would like Merle to get?

Hmmm I'm thinking maybe the Speak with plants ability or maybe something from the plant domain?
BTW all, I'm heading to New Orleans for the weekend, gonna attend Mechacon and play some games! :)
Unfortunately this means I will not have internet access till Sunday at the earliest. And I'll probably be too tired to even think about catching up till Monday. :)
Remember, the portal to Ranais (and the path through) is warded by potent anti-undead spells. You wont have to interact with the denizens at all (unless you want to ;)
Hey all. I'm putting this up in case any of my regular players are interested in a new game. It's going to be a gritty Post-apocalypse game set a decade after a world-shattering event (I'm leaning towards a worldwide EMP). I am going to be using Modern D20 rules (for now, until a decent Post-apoc set comes up), but a lot of that stuff is online >Here<.
The game will center around a group setting out from a survival community that wants to get more information about the outside world now that the Grim Years seem to be over.

I'd be interested, though I'm not too familiar with the d20 modern rules.
Have you seen The Apocalypse Machine from Pelgrane Press? It's for Trail of Cthulhu, but a lot of it is just advice on building a good post-apocalyptic setting using either the Mythos or numerous other factors. Really good.
Would this be anything like a certain Appalachee Jihad campaign? Because if it is I already have a sweet loveable little hunter type that you could pop into an unsuspecting group. Germain does work better if no one knows her terrible secret and having her come from the same community might make that difficult. Although I suspect that even a small tight community might be broken into different sects and who knows what secret technology and ulterior motives different groups might have? Germain could loose her most disturbing aspect but gain some alternate programing that would be equally messed up. Or maybe you could let her stay as is and the group bumps into her on the surface?
Well, time again for me to add to my bank of airline miles. I'm leaving again for Turin on Saturday, and won't be back until the following Saturday (the 6th). Please feel free to DMPC me in that time when needed.
Man, I've been reading some of the old stuff to reacquiant myself with various things, and I have got to say I love you guys! This game reads like a goofy arcane detective novel =D
It reads really well and I love how everyone plays off of each other so organically. Great characters and great character development. I really love all of the characters that have appeared over the years and often wonder what some of them might be up to now.
heheh, yeah, I do enjoy backtracking and reading old posts on this thread. WHen I have time,... ;P
It's funny, I try to weave and interact with everyone on all of my threads, but some threads are just easier to do that with. Some threads are fine, but it still reads like a bunch of individual posts all taped together. This one actually reads like a book or movie. (or at least a bunch of long TV episodes) :P
New members?
Hmm,... I'm ok either way.
We don't need people just for people I think, size wise were ok.
Composition? Let me think,
We have Isaac, Karrin & Rhiannon, all front line fighter types with useful secondary abilities, (Including, but not limited to, stealth, tracking, buffing spellcaster, smiting & lancing) :)
We have two straight arcane casters, (both Int & Cha flavors, heh)
We have one straight Cleric whose a bad @$$ himself. :)
And a newly reborn Psionicist with a variety of abilities.
Did I miss anyone? (Besides Seph? I was thinking PC's)
Purely from a 'cover all bases' angle I guess we SHOULD look for a lock/trapsmith. Although with the right scrolls both Merle and Justin could cover in a pinch.
What does everyone else think? I'll go with the majority. :D
Like I said, I could go either way. We had two more folks when you set out. I could build to that, or if you feel the synergy is fine for the group, I can let it be.
I'm really happy with the group as is but if one of the old players wanted to rejoin I'd be happy with that. I think we've had a lot of great gamers over the years and getting them back in the game would be wonderful. Course if you have somebody in mind that can make a character that would slide right into our little group by all means let them, but if you're looking to do a little random recruiting I'd say we don't really need it.
(If you think THIS is bad deciding, you should have seen my wife and I back when we were dating. We could stand in line at a fast food place forever trying to decide what we wanted. Course, I like to think it was the company.) ;P
Just to let everyone know I'm on holiday for 2 weeks and my internet is not as good as I thought it would be so Please DMPC my character if I stop posting for a bit
Thanks. It was pretty good. This was my 8th time in Turin, so it's actually starting to become a little "home away from home". Even found myself giving directions to a tourist.
Hey all, just a quick note. I will be intermittently posting as I have a lot of Fall cleanup to do to ready for Samhain. I will attempt to keep current as best I can.
Hey all, LUV the interactions!
I enjoy seeing the background actions of the PC's.
And thanks for the extra work Monkey guy! :)
I think we're all really enjoying it!
I'll be probably out of touch till after Thanksgiving, (It's at MY house this year, again) so HAppy Thanksgiving! And I'll see you after the turkey induced coma! :D
I also dig the whole Dresden thing Justin has going (although I'm not a huge codex fan) I am on the edge of my seat hoping that things don't go too badly for our wizard/detective friend.
Thanks guys! :)
I am most assuredly stealing,... BORROWING heavily from the books for material here. And having fun. I mostly write this stuff to entertain myself. If you all enjoy it too, BONUS! :)
I just finished the entire series. JUST in time to go get the newest book! :D
I did enjoy the Alera series, but must admit I didn't really care for the first book or two per se. They just weren't up to his best writing, IMHO. Once he got the setting established and got rolling on it, it much improved, very quickly.
