Playing games like Pathfinder have helped mostly me get over a big stage fright issue I have. I can talk in front of crowds but the idea of karaoke is still panic inducing. But it is awesome to watch. And for your drunken entertainment services I thank you.
And karaoke is meant to be a drunken event where you shame yourself. That is the goal!
Concerning the watches due do Regina's human eyes I would recommend she either take the first or last of the watches. I do not have the wonderful spells to get around those things yet.
Regina Caro |
I can finally hold conversations instead of squeak at people. I missed having a voice. Thank you for the well wishes and I do hope you get to feeling better soon.
Herger Orickson |
As for a watch order I would prefer the 2nd to last watch, so that way Herger can be up to Prep/pray to his god for magic and guidence.
Herger will be taking a hididing spot in the stables till the bandits arrive his son will be in the house with Svetyana if she is okay with that otherwise he would have him in the stables with good fatherly orders to keep his head down
Pyros Aldori |
Pyros will be happy to take whatever shift. He can see in the dark, after all.
Autumn Moon |
Autumn can see in the dark as well, so she could be on the same shift as Pyros, or on a shift with someone who doesn't have dark vision so that she can cover that for them.
Autumn Moon |
I'm just letting you all know, a very very good friend of mine passed away this morning. So the next couple days I may be slow to reply, and that is why. Or it may pick up because I want to get my mind off of it... Either way, I wanted you to know and when they settle on a date for his funeral, I will be heading down to Texas for it so I will let you when that is.
Regina Caro |
I am so sorry for your loss. Take all the time you need we will still be here.
Regina Caro |
Once able to look at the items, "Would I be able to use the bow, just in case? I only want to borrow it."
I asked Oleg and he gave me a bow. Longbows are pricey so I could not afford one to start with.
Regina Caro |
It is easy to miss or forget a post.
Autumn Moon |
Thank you everyone. It really means a lot. These boards even offer some distraction for... the worst of it.
Pyros Aldori |
Pyros is ready to go.
Regina Caro |
I have moved me to the catwalk over the gate as I understand things.
Also a question GM. In some of the games I have seen an alchemist in their fire bombs can catch stuff one fire and others where that never happens. I meant to ask before but I forgot. So do I have a chance that a well placed or badly thrown bomb might equal fire?
GM Waterhammer |
Throwing a fire bomb into the hayloft above the stable would likely cause that building to catch fire. The rest of the area is much less likely. The ambient temperature is down, humidity is high. I would assume that any bomb burns itself out.
Now if you happened to start throwing firebombs in a late Arodus (August) wheatfield it would be a different matter.
Regina Caro |
Good to know
Taenweth Vandiir |
Thanks. :) I moved it off to the side of the gate, near the wooden staircase/against the bunkhouse for Taenweth to hide behind. She would have moved it the night before in preparation.

Since it's summer school holidays here, I have my two youngest nieces staying with me for a week (starting today). My posting will be slow/sporadic over this week. I'll get back into a regular/proper posting schedule from my Monday (19th).
Autumn Moon |
I was waiting for everyone else to chime in before I posted again... Should I stop doing that?
GM Waterhammer |
Best not to wait for everyone. People drop out of pbp games, without notice, pretty often.
Also: My apologies.
I was hoping this game would go a little better. It's frustrating. Did everyone quit because of my crappy writing?
I wonder.
Should I have forced the game along more? I prefer the lighter touch, but maybe the players need more of railroad experience. I don't know.
I realize it's the holiday season, too, so lots of other stuff going on for everyone. Unfortunately that's the recipe for thread stall. No one posts, everyone loses interest, and the game is over.
Hopefully that won't happen here.
Autumn Moon |
I am still very interested. I just have the tendency to... Over power others so I really didn't want to do that. So I shall not wait from now on.
I am enjoying the story over all, I think this tale holds a lot of promise for Autumn and I am still interested in seeing it through! I would say that if no one replies within a week's time of your last post, to move us on. Only is no one posts.
The Holiday season will slow people down. But I will still be keeping my eyes open.
Also I will reply tomorrow as I am heading to bed now.
Regina Caro |
Holidays are a thing that kill games, this is true. I am perfectly fine with a light touch and I have no issue with your writing style. So do are a perfectly fine poster. Why would you think that?
I got a little distracted with the holidays and I was waiting to see if people posted. But I posted to hopefully poke people into posting since it had been a few days.
I promise I am interested in the game! I am excited to she how this game goes and how all the characters develop.
Herger Orickson |
I was under the impression that we were basically waiting for the next morning, though looking back on it no one set into peice a set night watch.
We have Autumn and Pyros, who have darkvision, Regina and I normal vision with Taenwith having low-light vision.
we could do four shifts with taenwith and I on the last early morning one closer to when we expect trouble?
Taenweth Vandiir |
GM, I have no issue with your rp style either. You said we'd be moving forward to the morning, so was pretty much waiting for you to do so.
As for my absences, between my 6 week bronchitis stint and now the summer holiday babysitting service and sick/hospitalised family members, I'm pretty stretched for time. End of year is always an extremely busy time for me and free/downtime is limited.
I'm still interested in continuing. I find I refer a middle ground of GMing - if there are lulls, I'd hope the GM would just push it forward or at least ask if the party is ready to move forward and if majority (or even some) post aye, then just moving the game forward.
I think pairing those with darkvision with someone without during watch is the way to go. I'm fine with whatever shift Taenweth is assigned.
Pyros Aldori |
I'm still here. Having had two of the last four posts, I was trying to let others chime in, didn't want to dominate the conversation. At this point Pyros is ready to head off to bed and wake up in the morning, but if others have things to say he'll respond.
GM Waterhammer |
OK, so it seems like everyone was waiting for me. I was wondering about that too. I'll try to do better about moving the game along.

My writing just doesn't look good to me. My sentence structure is weird. It seems hard to understand. Wish I'd paid more attention in english class.

Understandable. It's never pleasant to be sick, and real life stuff is always going to outweigh the game. Just post as you can.
Again, I do apologize. I let some frustration from work creep in. My job isn't usually that bad, so it shouldn't happen too often.
Regina Caro |
I understand the issue with ones sentence structure. I tend to be my worst critic and I have noticed that most people have that problem. Thus far I have not had any issue reading your posts. I am in a game with all dwarves and some of their posts can be a little tricky due to their desire to add accents in. You are nowhere near the worst I have seen in games. Stop being paranoid!
Also work frustrations are an unfortunate part of life. Like you said real life stuff is always going to outweigh the game. Just post as you can and let us know if you are able.
GM Waterhammer |
@ Herger: You only get one action in a surprise round. Either a standard or a move action. So it's usually not possible to move and cast, or cast and move, in a surprise round.
Edit: Also by my count, Taenweth is just outside your range. It's real close, so I could be wrong about that.
Heh. More edit:P -Did you remember to move your character on the map, Autumn? (And your wolf, if applicable.)
GM Waterhammer |
Changing tact, Taenweth picks up the horse cart once more and moves to ram the bandit atop the horse closest to her, hoping to unseat him from his saddle.
Hoping this is doable.
I'll have to think about this. It would work well against an opponent on foot.
If the ground were level, or better yet, going downhill...
The ground in the trading post is basically level.
Problem is, the bandit is mounted. The cartwheels would not be greater than 6' diameter. Which would set the deck of the cart at only 3' above the ground.
If that's the case, you would be bull-rushing the horse, not the bandit. Successfully, it looks like.
I like how you think outside the box. That's cool.
Taenweth Vandiir |
GM, are the bandits interested in replying to Pyros' prior order (during the surprise round) to surrender by any chance? Or have they been stunned into silence by our presence? ;)
Regina Caro |
Sorry I am here. My sleep is really messed up and work is wearing me out. Plus I have a friend who is a total jerk and gave me one hell of a headache cause they felt playful. Sorry for the delays. My bad! I can now go back to playing my little reckless and naive alchemist.
Regina Caro |
Working night is normally great but here recently not so much. But thank you! :D
Regina Caro |
Taenweth you are a creative little bugger. I like that :)
Regina Caro |
You are very welcome dear :D
