Looking for 1 or 2 players to replace players for this campaign.

Set on Golarion, 20point build, starting at level 1. max starting wealth for that character. Players can use any pathfinder book to build, NO 3RD PARTY, and standard races only.

(GM(me) is on GMT, but will accept players from any time zone. All I ask is one post a day minimum.)

Bit of background;

Magic doesn't exist everywhere. Only gods and the fallen have powers beyond mortals. That is of course, except for the fabled chosen ones.(this is where you come in, you would be building a chosen one)

Before time began the Gods squabbled over who would be in charge. After many years of conflict and the worlds almost coming to an end, a decree was made. All the realms where divided amongst the Gods, no one god could rule more than one realm and no realm was greater than the next.

It was rumored however that; whom ever controls the mortal realms in it's entirety, controls the afterword. Whom ever controls the afterword controls life, death and all the realms in between.

Prophecy stated the obvious (as prophecy so often does) When it was predicted that some day, someone will try to do just that. Will try to control the mortal realms and therefore attempt to control everything.

If this person where to succeed then the mortal world is doomed. It will be destroyed to prevent it from being taken. The gods would rather lose one realm than lose them all.

Do not lose hope. For the universe is all about balance. If someone comes along with the desire to rule it all then someone will come along with the desire to prevent that.

These are known as the chosen ones, Chosen to save the world. or so the prophet thought......

FEW notes, no magic weapons at level 1 so don't add them to your character. we already have a rogue, inquisitier and a bard.

build as normal, you can have full magic etc if you want but you dont have to play a magic character.

To apply i need crunch and a back story for your character, around one full paragraph minimum but go as deep as you want.

Tagging in for interest. Will post again when more is in the profile. Bramblebrewer alchemist, is the intent.

What book is the bramblebrewer from, not one I've not come across it yet. xo

Half-elf Racial Archetype from ARG

cheers. xo

Darn, it's not in sCoreForge yet...

And if Little Finder's not aware of it, would not be nice to spring it on her. I could do a Wood Oracle?

Wood oracle is fine. the only things i won't allow for this campaign is 3rd party or conversions. so long as it is on a Paizo Pathfinder book it is fine.

I´d like to join in, too.

Character:

Jabennim is a human teenager. He is just 19 years old and lived all his life with his mother. He is quite an outsider compared to other juveniles of his age. That also makes him something of a loner. Jabennim often played with imaginary friends and tells jokes to himself to compensate for his loneliness.
His mother teached him some small magic cantrips which he mastered very early. Someday, Jabennim realized, that he could make his imagenary friends come alive with his magic, although only for a very short time.
As his mother finally died, he left his hometown to seek company. That, of course, is pretty hard for a quite fragile and shy guy like him. But if someone takes the time to get to know him, he is quite a likeable person and someone to rely on.

Jabennim would be a human wizard (conjurer). The campaign seems somewhat low on magic. If therefore, being wizard would be a problem, I would gladly switch to sorcerer, with some modifications to the background.

@Little Finder: Do you grant any traits?

Major Character Features:

Str 7 Dex 14 Con 11 Int 20 Wis 14 Cha 7
Feats: Spell Focus (Conjuration), Augment Summoning, Scribe Scroll

Wizard is fine, the characters you would make have access to all the magic a legal build would give you in a normal campaign. you guys are 'chosen' special etc. so no worries on that. it is the world that lacks it not the player characters. more will be explained if you are chosen to play in the campaign but for building sake it is fine.

Hey Little Finder popping in to show you im still here haha sent you email let me know

Yes 2 traits, from any paizo, pathfinder book. Again no 3rd party etc. cheers for the question, sorry I missed that.

As traits I like to pick magical lineage, because of Jabennims mother and Reactionary, because as a child he was pushed around pretty often.

You look like you could do with some extra firepower so I'll submit a ranger.

Also forgot to say

NO STAT BELLOW 10.

really sorry @Tim.

With this being replacement characters I forgot what I had originally put but having has a look through I remembered that I said no stat below 10. Sorry cant do one rule for original players and new one for you guys.

Macfetus, checked out your crunch and back story all seems well, like the back story. will let you know on Friday. as that is when recruitment closes.

It seems you guys are lacking a tank. hmm i'm thinking the armored hulk archetype of a barbarian, possibly prestiging into rage prophet? give me your thoughts

Banner esq barbarians would be interesting. The group did lose their main fighter. Go for it, see what you can come up with.

question, how are we doing stats?

ok well for now i'm gonna do a 20 point buy. if we're doing something else let me know

Hi CampinCarl9127 is says in description, 20 point build, have a read before you build, give you an idea of what might suit. look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Indeed it does. well at least i'm getting into character (FEAR MY 8 WISDOM!) Well here he is. decided to go with a pirate type

Sczarni

@Little Finder Just added character background, really like how Logen turned out. Also the last section is foreshadowing him being an oracle (with the 'wasting' curse)

Might want to redo your character a little there CampinCarl, that 8 isn't allowed as the rules stand right now. My emphasis

Character redone. he's a little less stupid, a little less muscly, and a bit prettier.

really sorry @Tim.

Okay, then I just rework my character. This bookwormish type of wizard doesn´t seem to work with the Strength and Charisma of an average human.

I would then rather play Trey, a halfling bard.

Trey is quite a ladies´ man, at least he thinks of himself that way. A dashing smile and his wits prove it quite often, though.
Trey was an entertainer to an old Taldane noble and after his employer died, he left to seek adventure.
That´s because heroes always get the beautiful girls, you know.
Trey is quite capable with his shortbow and knows a clever answer to almost every question. It may be wrong or a bit daring, but who cares for details, right?

Abilities, Feats, Traits...:
Str 10 Dex 17 Con 12 Int 12 Wis 10 Cha 17
Exchanged Race Traits: Fleet of Foot, Adaptable Luck
Feat: Point-Blank Shot
Traits: Charming; Ear for Music
Spells: 0 - Daze, Detect Magic, Prestidigitation, Dancing Lights
1 - Expeditious Retreat, Silent Image

Sounds interesting. I'll have this character rebuilt for your rules later today.

Edit: Can we assume the same gods as in Golarion

looking better Tim halfling bards are always fun and Logen I like the back story. as i've said to other people the recruitment closes on Friday, so will let people know then.

yes there are the same gods.

Her she is. Stats in profile.

Background:
Talant'edhel, or Tali for short, doesn't remember what her name was. That was stripped from her like everything else on that night. Her father was an elf gone mad, a necromancer of some power, but little in the way of cunning or sense. He murdered his lover to harvest her body, and would have done the same to his young daughter. Before that could happen, a mob raided his home and killed him. They spared the daughter, if only because she had not done anything they could prove. For the next week she was cared for by the others in the small nameless village, but they feared her. By noon the eighth day, they had turned her out, and branded her one of the fallen. The next few weeks were a blur for the young elf, hiding from wild animals, running from goblins, trying everything to survive. She finally came upon a human town, but her luck was no better here. A gang of urchins found her, beat her, and took what little she had left save the tattered clothes on her back.

A priest of Cayden Caileanhappened by not too long after the incident. He found the little elf hanging on to life with tenacity and strength he'd rarely seen in someone so young as she appeared. He took her back to the inn and tavern he ran and nursed her back to health. Over the next few months she went from the broken, fearful girl that the priest had found in a back alley, to a free-spirited, young girl that helped around the inn and picked up a love of stories and a knack for getting even the gruffest of folks to open up with tales of adventure and derring-do. She became a worshiper of Cayden Cailean herself, but didn't feel drawn to the clergy, she instead took up learning to protect herself and those around her. She dealt with death, many more times than she wished, as first her caretaker, then others passed away with age. She never cried, though. She would always say, "I can laugh about it, or cry about it. I'd much rather be laughing." when asked about why.

As she neared adulthood, she learned to use all manner of weapons, but when a battered elven fighter showed her how to wield the curved blades of her people, she instantly took to it. The fighter taught her everything he know before leaving on some adventure to never return, but the young elf never stopped practicing with any sword she could get her hands on, and some of the younger patrons of the inn took to sparring with her whenever they got past the initial shock that the pretty barmaid was fairly skilled at arms.

She left not too many years after that. To where, she didn't know, but she felt a call to go adventuring, to make some tales of her own. So she left to turn the name given to her in disgust into a name said when talking of great heroes.

Personality:
While her values may align with many elves, she is far from a typical elf. She makes friends easily with a down to earth personality and a fondness of drink that makes people wonder if there's some dwarf in there somewhere. She'd rather spend an evening drinking, spinning yarns, carousing, and even having the occasional brawl than she would sipping wine and reading a book. While she's friendly to most, slavers and slave owners earn a special place of enmity in her heart. IF she can't get away with punching their lights out, she treats them coldly and refuses doing anything with them unless there's a way she can free those under their "care" and still make them pay.

Appearance:
Tali is a bit short for an elf, topping out at five feet 4 inches. She has hair the color of copper and steely-blue eyes that always have a bit of mirth sparkling in their depths. She's fairly tough and strong, but still agile. She wears a chain shirt over well-used, but still good adventure's clothing. a quiver that holds her bow and a sheath that holds her curve blade crosses her back and a longsword and dagger hang at her hip, attached to a board leather belt about her middle.

Sczarni

updated appearance description, although this picture is a very good representation of him.

Fear half-mad Captain Baccus!

"Fear? Hah! The only thing I fear is an empty keg of ale. By comparison, you are not so scary my large salty friend."

" Then you might not live very long there miss. "

"The elders in my village thought the same thing. So much for the famed elven intellect."

Tali gives Archaouss a look that pretty much says "Got a problem bub?" It's pretty obvious that there's some bitterness caused in the past as she continues.

"Guess they figured I'd die in a week, two at most. Been a hundred years, guess they're still expectin' me to keel over any minute now."

She turns back to the burly half-orc captain and asks in a much more chipper tone,

"So Cap'n, I bet you've got some interestin' tales from the high seas. Whaddaya say we swap stories. I'll even buy the ale."

There's an eager grin plastered on her face, she looks more like a child expecting some grand tale before bedtime than a fighter in a tavern.

"Hmph. Elves always the same. Stubborn and full of themselves." Archaouss rolls his eyes and goes back to sharpening his knives.

Sczarni

Logen gives you a very long, piercing look, then bursts out laughing

"Haha a women with some iron in her belly, and elven no less! Oh I like you, and I think i'll take you up on that offer. So let me tell you how I got my ship..."

"Whoa, hold on there bud, I still need to order the drinks."

Tali gets the attention of the barmaid, or the barkeep, and asks for two tankards of the best ale in the house. She pays for it and gives them a crown as a tip once they bring the drinks.

"Thank you, you've helped avoid a major breach of storytellin' etiquette. Now, I believe that you were about to tell me how you got your ship?"

Never really done the PBP thing but this seemed interesting enough so I'd like to throw a character idea out there. First time posting here as well so hopefully I got everything set up right so you guys can see the character. Was leaning toward mostly charms and then adding fire spells later down the road once she becomes more familiar with combat. She'll start naive and sheltered at first then become a little more arrogant and manipulative as her power grows.

Didn't finish my gear and stuff because I had a few questions. First, was wondering if it would be ok if I started with a horse. Also was wondering if I could have a servant from my family that I've paid to tag along with me to do chores, carry things, cook, etc.

Sczarni

"Haha well that was one of my best decisions. I was a simple sailer on a ship for a few months, always loved the sea. But just couldn't stand taking commands from a half wit captain who was a dog of the government. Luckily I got my chance. One day pirates decided to commandeer out ship, and with me being the only warrior other than the captain I decided not to draw attention to myself. Then I managed to convince the pirates I wanted to join their crew, so they took me in. And I wasn't there for a week when I made a mutiny and threw the captain overboard, beat the first mate, and dared anyone else to challenge me. And so Captain Baccus, scourge of the sea was born!"

I would just watch your starting gold, horse and riding tack etc can get very expensive, usually we only can start with 150, the servent thing would be up to DM, Rich parents trait varies by D, just letting you know ;) Welcome to Pathfinder PBP!

Glances over

"Well doesn't that just tickle ya, an elf who hates elves? Why don't you stop stroking your toothpick and have a drink with us?"

@Galacie

If you can afford it horse is fine, though don't count on being able to use it all the time, not all encounters will be across fields and planes lol . and no to the servant. you would come to the town alone.

I like the build so far though and background. have you played face to face? or are you new to the whole thing?

@ everyone liking the interaction between characters as well.

Are there anyone's questions I haven't answered yet, I'm on phone for now so cant read all the past posts properly.

Little Finder wrote:

according to my character background i'm the captain of a band of pirates and own a ship, and i'm wondering if we could use them for travel purposes. i don't plan on being a munchkin and calling in a dozen pirate friends to help us in a quest, just maybe some easy transportation over water

Archaouess shrugs studying the blade in his hand before sliding it into a sheath at his belt before pulling out another to start the process over again.

"I don't like pushy half orcs either." He grins. "Plus the ale here tastes like rat piss."

I don't even plan on using it in a fight anyway, its more a pet than an instrument of war. Mostly use it so I don't have to walk and to carry things I'd rather not. I've got a lot of money left over though...I'm terrible at picking mundane stuff out.

But anyway...I'm not new to pathfinder, just PBP. I don't get to play a lot face to face so I've lived vicariously through some other PBP games that I've read so I've got a general idea of how things go. If I do anything that's wrong or stupid you can just smack me...I usually catch on pretty quick after that.

lack of experience make no difference as to if i pick you. just like to know, if you get picked and you need to ask/question something don't worry about doing it. Remember that this is a home brew as well so it may not be strictly what you are used to.

ok no worries, if you can afford the horse you are more than welcome to have it.

I have done more face to face, but been on line for about a year, so I am new as well.

Apologies if I start a bar-fight in the recruitment thread, although in all honesty, I can see Tali doing that. Lemme know if I go too far.

The elven fighter, turns out to be just as quick with her tongue as she likely is with her blade. Without missing a beat and without hesitation, the feisty little (for an elf) woman shoots off one across the bow.

"Must like ogres 'n' trolls, 'cause that must be where ya get yer taste in booze from. I can probably scrounge up enough fer a bottle of Rotgut if ya really wanna taste rat-piss."

She looks that the other elf with a grin and continues, "Hells, ye'll get ogre, goblin, and troll piss in there too. Helluva bang fer yer coin."
