Sildur Farwind |
Sildur slips his sling back into his belt, speaking to Thorn over his shoulder, his eyes never leaving the floating form of Izoze, "Conventional weapons be damned! This creature requires a more primal approach..."
Drawing his hand towards him, a small flame appears in the druid's palm. The small fire seems to suck in air from around itself, growing in intensity until Sildur clutches a raging inferno in his fist, "The first fire shall consume you Izoze! You were warned!"
Hauling back his first, Sildur hurls the roaring flame at Izoze another appearing in his fist as he draws it back once more.
Sildur :
Move Action : Put away sling
Standard Action : Cast Produce Flame and hurl it at Izoze, 1 min remaining.
Produce Flame - Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Edit : I realize we don't have an init for Dru yet. Should I roll one or would you prefer to have him act on my init? It tends to vary between GM's.
Dru |
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Looks like Dru goes directly after Izoze. Not that it matters much at the moment.
Dru takes up position between in front of Sildur, eager to protect his master.
Move Action : Move directly in front of Sildur
Standard Action : Ready bite if Izoze comes within reach
Urga the Ogre Prophet |

Urga continues on across the bridge.

chillblame |
We shouldn't need a map for this, but if we do I'll put one up later.
The bridge is forty foot long and five feet wide ( actually three feet, but lets round up). Izore is ten feet from the bridge on the main parties left, 20 feet from their side. Urga is on the far side, and the rest of the party is clustered near the start of the bridge.
Rikael Ashenstone |
Controlled Rage for +4 dex. One full move action across the bridge, normal speed. Attack with Chakram.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Rikael starts to make his way across the bridge, unhooking his chakram as he does so. When he's within range, he lets fly the bladed circle with a bellowing cry.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Damage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Foul monster! You will pay for what you have helped do to the Sentinels!

Round one summary
Izore 10hp taken from sildurs flame cast
urga 4hp taken from izores icy breath
Urga has crossed the bridge, and rikael jojned him after a daring race accross the ice covered surface. However his chakrum throw was a miss, as it flies a distance landing location luck roll: 1d100 ⇒ 5, landing safely on the other side of the ice chocked stream. Agatha cast a spell, and sildur did the same, throughing fire at the creature. Sturion shot his crossbow to little effect.
Round Two
the sentinels? Easy meat. Just like you fools. Nothing can stand up to the inevitability of winter, and I am its avatar. Yield, and have a merciful death. Izore crows.
He gestures with his hand and three bolts of translucent energy lash out, lancing towards sildur, twisting through the air, unerringly striking him.
magic missiles: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) + 3 = 7
That is payment for the flame, scum
chillblame |
Agatha cast a hex at izore
izores will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
izore reals, fully effected by the hex as he lashes at unseen attacks. -2 to ac for 7 rounds
I'm going to try something here. Most gm's like to keep the stats of monsters concealed, for reasons of suspense. I am going to list the creatures AC and HP you as I think that can generate it's own suspence. If you don't like it, I can discontinue the practice post fight
Izore
HP 27, current 17
AC 23 touch 18 flat footed 16
currently AC is reduced by 2
Sildur Farwind |
Sildur cries out in agony as Izoze's magic rips through his flesh. Drawing himself around the flames in his fist, he snarls at the creature, "You can match blows with me all you want monster...but I did not come alone."
The ulfen hurls the last of his fire at the icy creature.
Standard Action : Hurl flame at Izoze
Produce Flame: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Expended...damn
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Thorn Slivertip |
Drawing his bow once more, Thorn sights along his arrow but his frozen fingers just would not allow him a full draw.
Shoot 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d8 ⇒ 8 sigh
Sturion Stoutheart |
Quickly yanking back the lever, Sturion cocks the bow and slides another bolt in, quickly sighting in to loose the bolt with a prayer...Guide me bolt, Torag!
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Well, it hit where Izoze WAS...Izoze felt the air move. :p
Urga the Ogre Prophet |
Urga will fire another bolt at the fey.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Crit Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Rikael Ashenstone |
Rikael moves to a safe range while unhooking a flask of the alchemists fire, and lets fly with it, his eyes still cold and focused.
Move to 10' within Izoze, keep focused rage on dex, attack with alchemists fire.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Pathetic? You are a burden on the very air around you! You will fall before us!
Sturion Stoutheart |
Sturion drops his crossbow and drags the huge longhammer off of his back as he heads for the snowdrift. He'll plow the hammer into the spot where he believes Izore to be, if he has the chance...
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 (I assume he has minuses, a miss chance, or something...not like it matters... :p)
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 4) + 4 = 9
Dru |
I believe you were still on the other side of the bridge with myself and Agatha, weren't you Sturion? I'm guessing you'll need this round to get close?
At his master's urging, Dru surges forward across the bridge, moving surely towards the snowbank concealing Izoze.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Dru draws alongside Urga, ready to snap should the creature show itself.
Sildur Farwind |
"You can't hide from this Izoze, retribution has come!"
Taking his sling in hand, Sildur moves across the bridge behind Dru, taking up position just off from the far end.
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Double move : Draw sling and cross the bridge
Rikael Ashenstone |
Rikael makes his way to the snowdrift, drawing his new rapier. When he gets there, he speaks, his voice cold and full of resolve.
Come out now. Answer our questions and do some good with the very end of your life.
Thorn Slivertip |
Thorn says nothing, intent only on crossing the bridge.
Sturion Stoutheart |
Oh...my mistake. Gah. Well, he had been coming our way. Hmmm. Back to the crossbow, I guess.
Thorn Slivertip |
Thorn prepares to cover fire, waiting for his allies to cross the bridge.
Rikael Ashenstone |
Rikael drives the point of his rapier into the snowdrift, enunciating his next words wih a twist of the blade.
Come out. Now. I won't say it again.
Sildur Farwind |
yes if you take it slow and easy. Dru is having easier going that you, due to his claws
Could you put that into game terms for me? I'm fairly sure Dru made it to the snowbank with the Urga and Rikael. From the earlier post Sildur's should have been able to make the DC 11 for normal speed easily. Putting him across the bridge last round, no?
chillblame |
sildur, you are correct. Dru gets a plus two due to claws. Both of you cross and are near the snowdrift after a full round action
Rikaels blow strikes snow. Urga can have a go.
sildur and dru make it across this round and can act next round.
agatha makes her slow way across and sturion looks at the bridge with trepidation. It looks very unsturdy to him.
