Smiling inwardly as the orcs scatter, Sharae provides healing to her injured companion...

Nemina Sho |
"Thank you, kind miss, I sorely needed that."
Sho's wounds glow as they partially close and the grimace of pain on his face lessens.
Anody Gearon, Prof. |
The hawk isn't a monstrous creature but it certainly poses a threat to the smaller races such as gnomes and can cause damage to even the bigger races especially if...
Anody starts lecturing about hawks as he moves 20 feet closer to the door in.

Anody Gearon, Prof. |
Oh no trouble at all. As you can see they're quite fast though susceptible to ranged attack, perhaps we should ignore them and the orcs and go after the leader?
Anody suggests, both continuing the lecture and moving further towards the building to see where Birdfoot got to.
The orcs are fleeing, the hawks are doing minor damage, I think we should go after the leader!
Sharae of the River |
"Indeed... Birdfood's vassals are fleeing and, whilst we were out in the ooen at least, we have no credible way of dealing with these hawks", Sharae watches the sky as she starts to chase after Birdfood...

indeed, let's cut off the head of this snake mel says.
The party advances inside.
There is a smell of bad meat and sweat in this place. It looks like it was well kept once, but has gone to ruin. Several side chambers seem to be sleeping chambers and the like. You move into a large room, filled with junk and chests. Standing before a throne of scrap you see birdfood. He seems to be talking to a screen.
those orc cowards have fled. I am exposed here. You must send help
On the screen you see a demonic face considering the panicking gang leader.
really? Why should I help you mortal. I who has delved into the darkest places in the universe, seen sights you can not imagine. You are a disappointment and a distraction, birdfood. Kill these intruders, and regain the favor of your god.
The screen stays on as the so called god watches
here they are. Amuse me worm
Birdfood spins, nocking an arrow.
Actions? Talk or fight.
Anody Gearon, Prof. |
Come now Mr.Birdfood. You are surrounded. You could just run away, on our honour we won't pursue you. And we'll get the Steel Hawks to let you leave Scrapwall peacefully! Anody pipes up. You could head out of Numeria! You should be safe especailly with your wondrous hawk companions, who we have avoided killing!

Anody also readies a cast of Capochonous Call to fire if Birdfood attacks.

Uh the diplomacy check will succeed on DC10 right?
Criek Prisil |
"you heard him--lower your weapon! Your 'god' is nothing more than a picture on a screen to you, and has clearly thrown you away!"
Criek readies a frost bomb to throw if Birdfood fires, doing his very best to look menacing.

First up there needs to be a blur roll for Sho but just it in case it doesn't work I will roll fort anyway.

Spellcraft to identify what happened to Birdfood: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Anody tries to identify what's happening to Birfood as he casts Heroism on Sho.
Oh dear, whatever that spell is I think we should take care of him quickly
Sho gets a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls, saves, and skill checks for an hour
Criek Prisil |
Criek also tries to id the spell -- spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 spell? what spell?
I'm wondering about disabling the screen: How close is Birdfood to the screen--could Criek get to the screen without an AoO? Is the screen mounted on the scrap throne, or is it standing alone?
Nemina Sho |
Sho will charge Birdfood and strike him with the blade of his naginata.

Birdfood gets a move *or* a standard action before Sho closes on him, I think. I'm waiting on Birdfood's move before posting...

Criek moves towards the screen, trying to see if there's any obvious way to disable it or turn it off,

that's...exactly the same attack roll and damage as the previous round. what are the odds?
Anody Gearon, Prof. |
I'll go again
Anody concentrates and tries to cover Birdfood's deadly bow with Grease.
Grease on the bow. DC14 Reflex save or drop. I think only Sharae left?

Slow posting rate for me this week - on holiday until the weekend...apologies for that.

aoo for sho and ayla
from the post above. Mel does get one, but I was going to let sho and ayla try first. On that...
As birdfood draws his bow, sho sees an opening, and strikes, cutting the crazed archer down.
The figure on the screen chuckles, not an evil laugh, but the laugh of enjoyment in a good joke.
Excellent, excellent. What good sport this is. I hope you keep this up. Most extertaining. I shall be seeing you all very soon, I am sure.
Then the screen blackens, deactivating.
Mel looks at the rest of you
you don't think that thing is actually a god, do you? she asks nervously
Nemina Sho |
"God? Hmph, fiend is more like it. Enjoying the deaths of those that serve it? I actually feel pity for those that worship that thing."
With a clack the butt of Sho's naginata hits the floor as he breaths heavily and presses his hand against the bloody gashes Birdfood left on his body. 'That pointy toothed freak was really quite dangerous. I actually felt the chill of death from that one.'
