As the party files past, the robot just sits there and hums, its eyes flickering eerily. In front of you are more metal doors, opened so that a person could slip through.

stick your head in and look with a light or ability to see in darkness:
CHOP!!!!!...(just kidding) You see a twenty five by twenty foot room, with strange, broken metal cages piled up against the northern wall. Smaller piles of rubble are piled up against the southern wall. A set of doors is on the opposite side of the room to you, and a smaller door is on the southern side.

I would imagine so.. but.. that robot was destroyed when I did it. Would not want to trigger some sort of self defense mechanism if I try to do it on a... aha.. 'live' version. I think perhaps we should leave sleeping rowboughts lie in this case... is it safe inside Criek? Can we go in?

Think the light already provides plenty of announcement, do you not? Valia proceeds forward, abreast of R-66Y. Then he turns to examine the smaller door. PerC: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18

The small door leads to a small room filled with twisted metal debris, and on closer inspection bones. btw a closer inspection of the debris on the northern wall of the large room reveals bones as well. Very old bones.

The door to the next room slides open with some effort.

The room beyond the large doors is revealed to be a smaller room, 15ft x 10ft, with the doors on the long side and strange machines on the short. The machines are made up of coils of metal, with nozzle protrusions pointing into the room.

No obvious threats are evident.

It says 'Biolock' which I must admit is a term I've never seen or heard before. Anody says in his habitual thoughtful tone. Bio..logy? Lock? At least there is nothing hostile here.

Anody looks around. Taking 20 on perception if possible. What kind of bones are there in the previous room? What kind of switches on the machines in this one? Would a knowledge roll engineering help?

it is your view that the machines are designed to emit something from the nozzles,and that they are activated elsewhere, maybe automatically. The bones are from many different creatures, all small in size. You don't recognize the species.

Seems like these nozzles are designed to pump some gas, or liquid maybe, out. Don't see any way to activate them. Perhaps the levers to work them are located elsewhere or they come to life themselves like the robots. Anody muses The lack of power the robot was warning about.. perhaps that has rendered these mechanical marvels inoperable as well. And those bones back there, from small creatures that I do not recognize at all. My word but this place is wondrous.

Does an examination of the doors in the nozzle room reveal anything interesting?

Where is the biolock sign? Near one of the sets of doors or another?

"'Biolock'? I've not heard of such a lock before. Which side of it is meant to lock?"

Criek peers and pokes around the area of the sign, trying to find a mechanism and figure out whether things were meant to be locked into or out of this room.

the lock in this context is to isolate something from another something. Much like a lock in a canal isolates two different levels of water so a boat can transit between. Bio means life.

Valia, you find no secret doors. In fact, barring magic, you can't fathom how to put a secret door in these smooth, metal walls. In fact the idea of smooth metal walls is a bit odd.

Ardash will attempt to open the door and if unable, he will wait for the card to be inserted into the slot before trying again. He will be the first to enter the red room, tense and alert for any signs of danger.

With blinding suddenness, the glass strips above ignite into blazing light, lighting the room to somewhat beyond bright level. The doors leading out slam shut instantly, with an thud that speaks of shattered limbs if they were in the way.

warning decomtamination commencing. Ensure safety procedures in place.

The two machines with nozzles activate, filling the air with a foul smelling mist. The light intensifies.

DC 16 fort, dazzled for 1 minute due to the light

The air is full of mist, as per the obscuring mist spell.
