I look forward to any questions you might have for me. Traits are pretty much set now. as well as gear and most of the crunch that I an see, still working on feat choices though. This campaign looks to be an interesting one.

Celetine8:

Balthazar has a good relationship with his brothers, but feels like he has let them down. To be fair, his brothers also feel like Balthazar has failed so far, but are gentle and never bring up the subject. They feel sorry for his older brother and hope he manages to improve himself in his new endeavour. Other monks are not so kind and think the monastery will be better off without a dead weight like Balthazar, as they put it.

I've included the following section in Balthazar's profile, regarding the monastery's doctrines:

As with all monastic orders, discipline and self-control are paramount in the Monastery of the Sacred Mountain. The mountain's endurance is the measure of a man's own strenght, and the three pillars of life, body, soul and mind, must be as solid as the sacred rock. Thus, the three vows represent he tenants of the sacred mountains: the vow of truth is the test of the soul, for lies and deceit are the first steps in the path of damnation; the vow of celibacy is the test of the body, which must be pure and untouched as stone, lest its structure erode weakened by menial pleasures; and the last one is the vow of silence, the test of the mind, for renouncing speak is embracing your own ideas from within and willing them into being, without physical means. To build each pillar, the path to enlightenment includes religious and secular teachings to estimulate the mind and critical thinking; physical training, anatomy lessons and martial arts from every corner of the world to generate a precise spacial perception and a fit and healthy body, and meditation and concentration in order to connect the soul to the ki force that permeates the universe. Perfection is attained when resolve of body, mind and soul are so strong that they become immovable like the mountain, and eternal. Balthazar is yet to take the vow of silence, and, much to his discomfort, is still in the early stages of his path.

made changes to the character sheet and will adjust/enhance background soon and post them together when complete

DM:
What are Brennyn's goals, besides getting out of Sandpoint and away from home? What is his relationship with Sandru like? Did he fall in with the Szcarni or other criminal elements? What does he like or dislike about being part of a caravan? Does Brennyn like to fight or is it just what he's good at? Does he have many friends in Sandpoint?

Brennyn doesn't exactly want to get away from home; he's got a hazy long-term goal of trying to scrape together enough cash to help get his father back to Magnimar where he hopes that his father will snap out of this current problem that he's having.

Sandru and Brennyn would certainly have been aware of one another; Brennyn shares much of Sandru's values. Brennyn wouldn't have fallen in with Sczarni elements, he has no interest in becoming a criminal.

Brennyn both likes and dislikes the caravan because at the same time, he gets time away from Sandpoint and the source of most of his bad memories but at the same time, he has a continual worry and concern about his father.

Due to his childhood, Brennyn is good at scrapping and over the years has picked up the rudiments of which is the pointy end of a weapon. It is only during his time as a guard that he's begun to develop any real skill. He doesn't see violence as the first option; however if it is the only one that will work he won't shy away.

He doesn't have many friends around Sandpoint, mainly due to his father's profession and his own propensity for fighting with his fists. Most of his friends are fellow caravan guards who appreciate Brennyn's straightforward nature.

GM:

Does Zandu know anything about his mother?

No he doesn't know her at all, he does though vaguely remember his father telling him "she was the most gentle and kind woman he had ever known, with a smile out shone the sun". Zandu assumes (incorrectly) she was a travelling gypsy or merchant.

Was she the one with celestial blood or, perhaps even a celestial, herself?

"She" was a celestial, a Planetar Angel to be exact, whom during a hunt for a particular nasty demon, freed Iozif from the demon's lair where it wanted to consume his soul. However the two were trapped for a brief while in it's trapped lair, which it had intended to be the Planetar's eternal prison¨and it was here that Zandu was conceived. After they were freed iozif and the planetar parted ways. The angel never told Iozif her name, but appeared before him later after Zandu was born and gave him into iozif's care.

How did/do the scars of the past manifest emotionally/physically?

He tend to be afraid of a mild form of claustrophobia, but at the same time when things get too much or when he sees someone who reminds him of those he knew from before he tries to find solitude from the people around him. He is also very distrustful of goblinoids and orcs a thing he is deeply ashamed of (since his religion tells him he should give all a chance for forgiveness).

Every now and then he suffers from nightmares reliving the end of his old life, but as he is getting older these are becoming less frequent, though the memory is crystal clear.

Did Nanael start as a figment of his imagination that had life breathed into her through the development of his magical talent or has she always been 'real' and present and just empowered by his abilities as a summoner?

Nanael was never a just a figment, but an spirit creature (outsider) that sought out Zandu and formed a bond with him, however it is certainly not his sister in any manner or shape. She is real and being empowered by the close bond the two share (the summoner bond), however for a long time Nanael had no shape, form or ability to interact with her surroundings, but merely a potential to be something and offered nothing but merely a presence that was always there, always listened, so she might as well have been a figment to begin with.

What is his relationship like with Sandru and Koya?

He loves Koya like a mother, which obviously mean he relies on her, trust her, etc. but also that she frustrates him at times and easily gets annoyed if she takes too much of an interest in his personal affairs.

Sandru he is somewhat envious of and always have felt that Sandru was the better "son", the perfect one, while he as the whine useless one and thus a rival. However he still very much enjoys his company and likes talking and listening to his "older brother".

As I actually got to play We Be Goblins on Free Game Day last year, have had a love/hate relationship with them since 'Burnt Offerings' & picked up Goblins of Golarion as soon as it came out; may I present Irnk, Deadye's Prodigal for consideration in this Campaign? The present info is my primary Avatar, not game cruch.

Not long after the 'Late Unpleasantness' Shalelu Andosana was proceeding on one of her comparatively routine 'recreational sweep & clear' patrols when she managed to surprise an entire goblin tribe. The Gullchuckers. You haven't heard of them? That's because she managed to wipe them out in one night, idiot! Anyway, she doesn't talk much about it as she considers it a bit embarassing, she was able to sneak up on the tribe because they were so busy preparing to sacrifice one of their own (probably to Lamashtu, but it's not as if she felt it necessary to ask)! The task completed, Shalelu was left with the unenviable decision of what to do with the sole survivor, the sacrifice. I mean seriously, it was a Goblin! This should have been simple, kill it, move on. Unfortunately Shalelu had this problem with the idea of murdering a bound, unarmed, defenseless (did I mention bound?) creature...

Do I have to draw you a picture? Spell it out for you? That Goblin was me you idiot! The name's Irnk & that pointy-eared homicidal nut-job just stood there, watching me, with a bloody gleam in her eye & a gore soaked blade in her hand long enough for the sun to pass from behind her left ear to behind her right before she just slit my bonds & WALKED AWAY! Yes, Ma & the others were going to gut me from crotch to throat, yank out my innards & see if they could force me to take a bite before I died, but that's different, they're family. We're goblins fer Deadeye's sake! (okay that last was inappropriate.. Sorry lord)

Okay, I see I'm getting ahead of myself. You're curious to know how I survived & what the heck I'm doing with this nifty stag horn necklass & this disquieting holy aura. I can answer both questions with one word, alright I lied it's three words & it's actually a name: Lief, Erastil's claim. He was an Ulfen Paladin of Erastil down South on walkabout here in Varisia. Actually, he told me later that Old Deadeye woke him up from a sound sleep up near the crown of the world & told him to get his butt in gear & head South as there was some Prodigal son of HIS (Erastil's) likely to get himself dead if he (Lief) didn't get a move on. I have no idea what a Prodigal is but I guess that is polite talk for 'Goblins we don't feel like killing' or something or other, cause as soon as he found me, Lief started in on how I was his 'squire' or some such. Actually, he called me something else, but it was in skald & I never did learn to speak skald... Then he proceeded to whip my butt into shape & teach me all sorts of things like protecting the weak & defending family & community and such. THEN he proceeded to get himself killed as we were giving this Varisian Caravan time to get away from a pack of Ogres. In gratitude, the Varaisians 'allowed' me the opportunity to guard their sorry butts as they limped back down into Varisia. 'course as soon as we were back in 'civilised' (not the Linnorm Kingdoms) lands they kicked me to the curb (yeah I may not speak Varisian, but I know 'Filthy Goblin' when I hear it). Left me in Riddleport! RIDDLEPORT!!! Do you know what happens to a Goblin Paladin in Riddle port!?! Actually Riddleport was kind of fun, I got to work off a LOT of aggression there...

But eventually I realised that I wasn't actually doing what I really was supposed to so I made my way back here. I figure somehow or other Shalelu started whatever this is, so where she hangs her hat is where you will find me.

I am prepareing a complete re-write so it is taking a bit longer than expected but hope to have something ready by the end of the day

oops, I meant tenets.

Ok, I'm interested and will post concept shortly.

I do have a question for the GM: would you allow the Spell-less Ranger variant from Open Design's Expanded Spell-less Ranger supplement? If so, I'd like to use that class, if not I'd adjust my concept towards an Oracle..

Okay! These are the PCs I've got on the second run-through of questions. Submissions are closed, as we've got lots of submissions! It's going to be hard to pick only a few! I may pick more than four, I think. Everyone has submitted great characters and I will have the decision by Tuesday night at the latest. I did get Rauno Kain onto the list, but have yet to do questions, as I'm pretty tired. Good luck guys! Also, if I've missed you, please tell me, it wasn't intentional.

Arknight, the GM closed the recruitment for this game last night.

Darn, missed that...... Ah well, back to the quest... Lol

Are there just not a lot of games going on at the moment? It seems like these recruitment boards fill up so fast!

Dang! I missed that too...

well, on the bright side, I now have myself ready to go should another opportunity open up.

To those who get in, have fun!

Okay. I've picked. I'm not asking questions to the last two that have picked, as I just want to get underway. It was really hard to pick, and as it is, I've picked five, not four. Two of them share traits and if it's going to be messy, or someone doesn't post on the campaign thread within twenty four hours, I'll take my sixth choice instead.

I've picked Sienna Vhiski, Hijiro, Kravo Blashkh, Balthazar Andor and Wanwa'lasse. The sixth is Irnk, Dead-Eye's Prodigal, because he submitted late, but I really loved his character idea. I loved so many and I spent all day mulling this over.

Thank you so much for spending so much time making characters!

Thanks for opportunity to submit and congrats to those who were selected.

Best of luck! There is some really excellent ones picked, which makes me sad to have not been. Sounds like you guys will have a great game though so enjoy :)

Terrific! Thanks everyone for submitting great characters. I'm on my way to the discussion thread.

Grats to everyone who got in! I'm gonna play this with my home group. Best of luck!

Great! Thanks for picking Sienna, can't wait to get this campaign started!

Good luck to those who got in.

Congrats to those who were picked. Unfortunately I was not among the number, but at least I have a character worked up for future player recruitment.

oh well too late for me

I guess I can keep the character for future submissions

I took to long to re-write the background and re-work the character but the good thing is I will be ready to go for the next Jade regen recruitment.
