If you are talking about doing it for your feat then I would suggest at the start of each day, probably at breakfast, rolling a d6.
1= Hammers (Strength)
2= Keys (Dexterity)
3= Shields (Constitution)
4= Books (Intelligence)
5= Stars (Wisdom)
6= Crowns (Charisma)
Unless you're talking about doing a full-blown reading then give me some time to read over the rules in the CotCT AP and get back to you.

Sorry i wasn't more specific... i was talking about the feat bonus. I give you a heads up if I ever want to do an actual Harrow. (but i think you can get away with rolling dice)

Looks like we have some decisions to make. I would think it best to get the most people together to research a certain topic (especially the way the way the dice roller has been acting). Not knowing how long it takes to do research I have no idea if we can do all of them in one day.
Also I was unclear if the professor found those items at the temple of phasmara
I have a question for the DM: Does Kendra have any class ranks? And would you be violently opposed to Eloise taking her on as an apprentice in swordcraft and magic? The best way to protect someone is to teach them how they can defend themselves, after all.
Kendra is a 2nd level Wizard (Diviner). I was going to figure a way to mention that yesterday but things got a little too busy for me to find the time to post.
OK... so how are we doing this?..... I think it best if we all follow one 'head researcher' and everyone else helps with aid another.that is a potential +8 to help figure things out, and nothing to sneeze at.
If we split up then that potential +8 gets lowered.

I don't have Knowledge (history), so I don't think I can... Can I? I'm a little out of it today, my apologies. I could do Knowledge (arcana), (dungeoneering) or (planes), but that's it.
If I understand it correctly, using the records lets you make an untrained check to aid another only.
Okay, one untrained Knowledge (history) check: . Less than helpful, I fear...
According to the rules, you can make an untrained Knowledge check if the DC is 10 or less, using a library removes this limitation. I'm fudging the rules a little to allow you to use a DC:10 Intelligence check to Aid Another when not using a library.
We seem to be stuck - lets shake it up a bit, go ask how Lorrimor died, see the town and come back to the research maybe?
Maybe I can help with the history roll? Maybe that will shed new light on something?
My 10 cents? We are botching all the rolls. It happens sometimes, the dice gods spit in our hot chocolate. It basically all boils down to Zim making a roll and then we all pile on with aid another attempts... which reminds me...

Its also boring just doing lab research, particulary when we don't seem to be getting ahead or making the rolls - another part of the reason I wanted to split into smaller groups and hit the town to various NPCs. Heck, with the right rolls we may be able to have them give us the information or help with the research. I get the research IS important - the game has a very Call of Cthulhu investigative vibe to it and its gotta be done, its just that we don't seem to have hit the right DC's so far.
Finally I am not sure where we are - back at the house or at the town hall records?... in the last few days its become a bit murky and the game has slowed to a crawl... If possible I'd like the GM to step in, straighten things out a bit and get us back on track.
well with Theodor's aid another it brings my 23 to a 25... so that should be something.
In the end I think we need GM Wulfson to push us out of this rut. I am sure he'll "put his back into it" when RL gives him a break.

Again I suggest that we split up and have some of the others check out town and its shops and do a bit of PR for the group - buy the town inn a round of beer or two and talk to the Sheriff on how Lorrimor died?
Mathus is (at this level) an Aid Another Machine... he can support Knowledge Local/History rolls or he can have a crack at Diplomacy aid anothers.
I think he's better suited to helping Zin but if there is any objections I can go walk about with the others.
We can get 2 aid anothers in both cases... Zin with 1 player and Kendra and then group around town with 1 player rolling and the other two aiding another.
Keep in mind that Zin and his 'posse' will likely be in the archives for a few hours whereas the group in town will have time to see the whole town and meet a few of the people.
Those in the town archives had best prepare themselves for a few introspective or memory style posts so they can keep the tempo up with the others around town.
At this point Zin, you choose who you want to go to the archives with you... I'm cool either way.
Tomnus and Theodor WOULD make a good team for socialising with the town. Eloise? You can still aid another with Diplomacy, it just means you need a 11 and not a 10... which is 50-50, also your character is pretty damn smart and has Knowledge Arcane - check out the local shops and see what you can dig up from the town witch, fortune teller etc. If you make the arcana roll, it may give you a circumstance bonus.
One thing I hope that can happen is that the posting tempo can increase as we get back on track... we had a pretty good momentum a while back.
