Oiled up by Wu Fang, Biggets slips lose. The rubbery flesh of the troll continues to bind, but cannot keep up with the electrical and arcane bolts that rip into it. Jim pokes at the giant again as it roars more in annoyance yet rather than pain. Leaving behind its unruly victim, the troll suddenly rushes forward jumping onto the small boat capsizing it!

Kaul snags the oaf with his hook as it pushes past into a snoutfull of Dibbets discharge. This time it sounds angry, but the roar is cut short as the boat rolls under the massive weight of the landing giant. In the resulting chaos, All aboard are pulled beneath the blood-colored waters of the Vanji: troll, halfling, sorcerer, and the bound thugs.

The young Tian shows ninja-like skills as he leaps from the floundering boat to the. marshy shore. Beside him Kaul draws Lopper as he scowls into the rippling river. Dibbets bobs nearby and the conscious thug rises to the surface screaming once as he is tugged under again toward the swifter flowing waters.

Just as Jim determines that he needs to go after their transportation, the water in front of him explodes in a spray of red water and scraps of flying green vegetation. Then the troll towers over him with a shredded and very deceased thug in its mouth.
It slashes at the swordsman tearing him with a claw. Jim-8 slash Dingus' mouth has gone dry during the interim and only a sputter of venom falls from his fangs to burn his robes. Kaul however is ready and stepping into the shallow water, chops into the beast with Lopper!

Dingus manages to muster a bit more caustic venom this time. At least enough to splash the monster though it has no visible effect. Lopper however, has a very visible effect as the axe opens the giant's belly sending entrails floating into the red water of the Vanji. The intestines twitch some as they are tugged back into the belly by the overtaxed regenerative system.
The troll turns its full fury on the Orc axe-wielder biting and slashing!

Round 8
HP: 20/47; AC: 18 STATUS: -
Kaul reels from the troll's onslaught, then rallies as his own wounds knit and heal courtesy of Gozreh's indifference.
"Hur. Healin' and hurt dealin'. That's what we do trolly!"
The thug presses home his buzzsaw attack, chopping at the watery brute in a frenzied assault:
Lopper (Melee): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
+1 Adamantine War Ax Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Sneaky Shanky Damage: 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) + 1 = 13
Cap'n Voodoo |
Troll's a giant, it has reach. Also you'd be stepping into the river to get behind Kaul- so problematic all around. Also to clarify based on a previous post, a trident, thus spell, isn't a reach weapon.
Dibbets attempts to aid his Biggie Buddy, but his prayer is thrown off as he dodges a terrible claw. Kaul is ready though and Lopper lives up to its name as it removes the offending appendage at the shoulder. The troll bellows in pain as it falls back into the muddy red water.
James "Madman Jim" Patterson |
If it wasn't moving as it fell, Jim tries to snag it and pull it out of the water. "Let's get him to shore, mates! He can't hide there! "
