Back among the living. The stress test was negative (so I have no stress? I don't think so...), I'm just supposed to cut way back on sodium and maybe get high blood pressure meds. On the whole, it could have been a lot worse.

Really looking forward to it. Archetypes and details on Besmara. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
very very minor spoiler for Racing for Ruins AP module:
The note about Minor Pirate Groups reminds me to tell you guys I am using this group as the Pirate team of rivals in the Serpent Skull AP Racing to Ruin I am running my RL group through. Dibbets, I am using our Sargavan group as the Colonial team. And Kaul, I am using Skane and Betony as mercenaries for the Aspis team. The group joined the Pathfinders and I have an evil party PbP for the Red Mantis. I am not expecting direct conflict but definitely adds interesting fleshed out NPCs for the group to interact with. I will let you know if anything comes from it.
Huzzah! I mean Yaaarggh! I'm going to want to hold a physical copy in my salt-stained hands so I'll have to wait a few days longer until the FLGS gets it in :(
Groom- who's the captain? I certainly hope a coconut monkey is calling the shots!
the Groom(Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Besmara 4)
The AP supplies the captain (or leader) for each group, but none of the supporting characters. So far my players encountered the pirate group in a bar but only really interacted with the captain. But the cast was introduced and they will get more chances to interact.
Is that really a WTW or in this case Scarab-wot-Scuttles? I'm always a fan of non-standard monsters to keep the players guessing. I'm thinking I came across another monster that used that spell in the B3 this week, but can't recall what just now.
He's built off of a worm that walks chassis, though there'll be a few custom upgrades to keep things interesting.
Figured there'd been enough breadcrumbs by now and wanted the BBEG for the campaign to make an entrance for at least a little bit ;)
Well looks like there wasn't that much for us in the Pirates book after all. It's solid and nice and all, just not much that we-all can use right now.
A nice spell that could be useful in the future though track ship - 2nd level Cleric spell that puts a marker on a nautical map where the quarry is - though requires part of the ship you're tracking.
And skeleton crew is very cool :)
Besmaran trait that might be up Groomy's alley as well:
Cheat Death: 1/day when reduced to 0 or fewer HP as a result of a failure on your part (ability / skill / save) can invoke to reroll the failed check. Must take result of second roll.
the Groom(Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Besmara 4)
Haven't got mine yet, but that trait does look good. And I got the River Rat trait just sitting there collecting dust as I have never put a dagger to use.
Just a quick FYI - I'll be out of town and away from the internet for about 48 hours from the time of this post. Disappearing into the suburbs for the weekend.
Please take any DMPC actions required to keep things moving along.
Dibbets would likely make some sort of crack about chicken drumsticks, fart and then heal somebody... or something like that.
Chicken drumsticks and venison from the same beast! Hey, I think I figured out where some of these chimera creatures come from--it's demented wizards with fifteen or twenty ranks in Profession (Cook) who want to simplify the farms that supply them. They could have done something useful like cross a chicken and a cow and give it the belly of a pig, so they could get drumsticks, steak, and bacon out of the same animal. But no, Balthazar the Giggling Gourmand happened to have a taste for bear meat and owl, and the rest is history.
Reminds me of one of my favorite Simpsons' quotes : )
(Lisa) “I’m going to become a vegetarian”
(Homer) “Does that mean you’re not going to eat any pork?”
(Lisa)“Yes”
(Homer)“Bacon?”
(Lisa)“Yes Dad”
(Homer)"Ham?”
(Lisa)“Dad all those meats come from the same animal”
(Homer)“Right Lisa, some wonderful, magical animal!”"
Dingus is eventually able to identify the whithered hand in the goblin chest as a hand of glory- allowing user to cast daylight or knock once per day at CL 10.
Enjoy. It's supposed to be a bit too slushy to camp here this weekend.

My posting will slow next week. I will be out of the office and in the field, so only be able to post at night. But should have internet, so can give updates.

Captain, My Captain. I see the various room names highlighted. Are they just a way of designating rooms or is there a link associated? I am not seeing anything attached and was wondering if I was missing something.
Congratulations on 3,000 posts young fellows, and 1 month shy of our 12 month anniversary too. Many thanks to our divine simian overlord for a constantly engaging gaming experience....
Now come save the drunk halfling from being eaten by rats... pretty please :)
Took a moment to check--the Freebooters are currently in 36th place for number of game posts, and only five of the ones running ahead of us are newer. Man, we talk a lot.
I'm not sure what Kaul gets for level 4; Jim doesn't get any free-hand fighter goodies, though he'll make some incremental improvements and likely continue to pull ahead in the HP race.
Groom - we're only Dour coz Dibbs is out of rum... once we get back to Freeport we'll be merry enough :)
While the sailor in me wants to take track ship - I think that perhaps Dibbs better pick something that will see some combat use. Aid or something like that (taking suggestions).
His EWP in firearms is lonely and needs a friend....
