Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Happy Holidays Kauly - enjoy your travel and in-laws. We'll keep the ship steady and wind in the sails.

Present from Dibbs for you:
A big ol' ox tongue :P

yo ho ho. happy holidays all. got a couple new games to try out with my brother. Twilight Creations' ZOMBIES!!! is pretty fun- also found a game shop with a stash of old 1st ed modules. :)

and i'm back on the road a couple days. i'll be off and on until after NYs.

Male Taldan Human Free-Hand Fighter/5 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | HP 36/49 | F +5 R +5 W +4 | Init +3| Perc +1

Have fun! Hopefully it'll go well enough that you'll be in a good mood when you get back....

Whaddya mean? I'm always a jolly boy :)
actually my brother's whole family- 3 babies- were sick. I was recovering from a mild bug until then. Now i've got like 4 more maladies which made the drive back across the SW oh so much fun :P. babies are total plague rats. adorable plague rats, but plague rats nonetheless.

Male Taldan Human Free-Hand Fighter/5 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | HP 36/49 | F +5 R +5 W +4 | Init +3| Perc +1

Someone I used to work with referred to children as "little vectors of disease;" being a teacher, you're probably all too familiar with that.

Happy New Year, mates! Kaul, you out here for the duration now?

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Nah Jimmer - just visiting the brother in law whose working out here. My new job is away from education and in the oil industry [joining Dibbs in the field] - they are a Norwegian outfit, but have offices in Houston so might eventually get a move... will be a few years down the line methinks - gotta learn my new post first!

Happy New Year to you all lads!

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Heh - the field is always looking fer fresh meat :)

What sort of job did you get Kaul? - land job or offshore?

seems we lost Kaul to the wonders of TX beer, chili, and football...

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Aye - we needs Mara or Bess buried to the hilt in yon mayor soonish...

Darn board always throws me a 1 whenever I try something out of the ordinary... no respect ;)

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Sorry lads - been busy with nights oot, football and all things Texas...

Dibbs, its a Service Co-Ordinator job for a uplift company - drilling valves etc... will likely involve some offshore, but mainly on.

BIG CHANGE - looking forward to it!

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Sounds good Kaul - enjoy your chopper dumping training when you get to do it ;)

Oh - and it's all on you and Dingus now - don't let us down!

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Besmara 5

Maybe negative energy is like a jellyfish sting, and Dingus might pee on us and heal us before he buries us. :-p

the Groom wrote:

Don't encourage him.

I don't think anyone has any healing potions left. If Kaul were around, he could try and sweet talk Tum-Bobo for some goodberries.

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Sorry Cap'n - making the sad trip home tomorrow, so tonight has been a tequila fest... not much use for naught... will be back on grid Friday tho...

For the record Kaul's broken nose is well outta joint since Jimmer has nicked the monkey idol ;)

Second thoughts... now he's Jimmers problem lol.

Feel free to DMPC me Cap'n - will rejoin the party as soon as I'm home!

Male Taldan Human Free-Hand Fighter/5 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | HP 36/49 | F +5 R +5 W +4 | Init +3| Perc +1

We'll be considerate and post quietly then, mate. Safe travels!

(Jim's already thinking about leaving Tum-Bobo with the folks here. Now that their priest and his faceless allies are all dead, they'll be needing some extra mojo to survive.)

well, he is a capricious coconut.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

But but but if we leave Tum Bobblehead behind there'll be no-one for Dibbs to look down on and Intimidate!

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

True... but you could always resort to giving Richard the trouser snake the stink eye...

That'll be me back lol.

Kaul - in the immortal words of that Irish guy in Braveheart:
"The good lord says he can get me out of this one... but I'm pretty sure, you're fecked"

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Heh. Perfect quote... Alas due to his current state ol' Kauly can't utter a witty retorte!

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Heh - the twin vipers have already given up on ye sonny. Dibbs has a very foolish though very in character action to take next, but I'll wait to see what Jimmer and Groomy's take is on festivities first.

I think Groom even gets to go before the big sucker too...

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Well the fatalistic action has been forestalled as no-one else ran... but this is another combat where Dibbs is 100% useless, sigh.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Besmara 5

You can still wet your pants. That would be in character.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Dibbs hasn't drunk nearly enough today for that sort of activity :P

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Nevermind - had an even stupider idea.

Anyone want to take me up on a bet that I make myself unconscious without even doing a thing to the skeeter?

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

As referenced above, the stupid idea involves alcohol and fire. I have two options:

1. Old fashioned soak, then burn - which I'm imagining will be using improvised throwing splash weapons, etc.

2. This - which I think would be more fun and with greater opportunity for Dibbs setting himself on fire.

What sort of rolls would you like from Dibbs to attempt the fire-spitting?

I had a girlfriend that was into that once...

i'm thinking it'd be a full round action within melee range and you'd take an AoO.

the attack itself would be ranged touch and do 1d4. self-ignition on a '1'.

stylish, yes. but not as effective as a molotov cocktail.

EDIT: I guess you could fill up before stepping up to blow, but it'd likely still be an AoO since you're untrained and sticking your puss out like that.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Hmmm - will wait and see when Dibbs turn comes round once more ;)

Though stylish and ineffectual really is up his alley...

I would agree that burning down the field is about your only chance honestly.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Consider the field burnt ;)

Are we still in quasi-combat state? - I just need to see what skeeter demon does before I try and turn to run.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Well... it officially cannot get any worse than it has now.

Dibbets is completely out of booze...

Male Taldan Human Free-Hand Fighter/5 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | HP 36/49 | F +5 R +5 W +4 | Init +3| Perc +1

The prospect of a sober Dibbets is enough to make even Kaul tremble. We're fecked.

Maybe Kaul would rather we use the luau approach to lure in the bug?

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Ahhhh Jimmer - awesome. Brightened my day mate... and it might just work!

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

My new soundtrack to Dibbets is this!

I'll post something when I can; right now the house is full of people and I'm trying to keep the food coming. Four different kinds of chili. It's all good.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

I call Dibbs on the wand of cure moderate wounds (17)

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Four types o' chili Jimmer - impressive spread and my kindof scran... all served with Micheladas I trust?

mmmm, chili! what kind you got? I bought a book of 50 different recipes and made it through 20+ last summer.

no worries. I have company myself for the weekend. the E-norm-ous Tucson gem and mineral show started.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Heh - my father would be like a kid in a candy store at that show. He's a Geologist who spent many hours / days scoping out good mineral drops from holes in the side of the road / defunct mines. Has also just taken up faceting as his new hobby.

I'm assuming chili means meat plus spices? - not just this?

Reminds me though - need to fry up a fresh batch of Thai red curry paste...

properly- the vegetable and stew is chile. common usage leaves the vegetable as chile and the stew as chili.

i actually just make vegetarian chile, my favorite uses native tepary beans. there are tons of recipes though.

as for chiles- i eat a hell of alot of that as well.
stuffed, minced, salsa-ed, etc.

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

I'm known for making a mean Quorn chili that's fooled a few car-ni-vores... [liberal sprinkling of Bluff check helps :)]

Mmmm tepary beans... Cap'n now yer talking!

So we've established the crew are all facial hair afficionados and now we're chili mongers too!

Male Taldan Human Free-Hand Fighter/5 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | HP 36/49 | F +5 R +5 W +4 | Init +3| Perc +1

We had a lot of different palates to please, so we went with variety--one "standard" (at least in the US Upper Midwest), with red kidney beans, ground beef, and not a lot of spicing (cumin and a little cayenne); one vegetarian black bean with jalapenos; a green chili stew with pork and potatoes; and an Oklahoma-style chili with grilled beef, anchos, chipotles, crushed tomatoes, and beer. I lucked out with the weather: Friday night I was able to use the outdoor grill to roast the peppers for the green chili stew and sear the beef. I've been trying to match the green chile stew I had in Albuquerque a few years ago, and this recipe came closest.

Dibbets, I make up panang spice paste for panang nya at least once a year. Unfortunately, my wife is on a low-acid, fairly low-spice diet these days, so we don't get to do as much curry any more. (Garlic is still OK, though.)

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Suddenly, I feel like there's a voice in the background saying and knowing is half the battle...

I need to make my BBQ baked beans with pork belly again... indulgent food. In other news I am now incredibly hungry.

Jim - my wife isn't as fond of the hot stuff as I am either. I get around it by making the curry fairly mild, then adding an extra couple of spoons of curry paste to my bowl to swirl in before eating ;)

Male Human (Chelaxian) Inquisitor of Besmara 5

Here in Santa Fe, its all about the Green Chile. I like the Red but LOVE the Green. I find myself using it in about any recipe.

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Kaul - the Cap'n suggested something to his Legacy of Fire folks that I think would be perfect for us.... start up a scar / wound tracker for each time you've been dropped into negatives...

My only concern is whether there's enough space in your profile page....

Male Half Orc Rogue (Thug) 5

Har-har... there's a certain frozen weather game that it might fit as well ;)

Male Taldan Human Free-Hand Fighter/5 | AC 20 T 15 FF 15 | HP 36/49 | F +5 R +5 W +4 | Init +3| Perc +1

Hey, mates, posting may be kind of thin for me today. The joys of getting older; I had a blood pressure spike a couple of nights ago, and though it wasn't anything damaging the docs still want to give me a stress test this morning. I've got time for a few posts before the sadists, er, techs arrive, but after that I'm not sure what they'll want to do. Wish me luck, eh?

Male Halfling Oracle of Gozreh 5

Aye - Dibbets is wishing you much luck! Let's hope that the sadists go easy on you and all is fine.
