yo ho ho. happy holidays all. got a couple new games to try out with my brother. Twilight Creations' ZOMBIES!!! is pretty fun- also found a game shop with a stash of old 1st ed modules. :)
Whaddya mean? I'm always a jolly boy :)
actually my brother's whole family- 3 babies- were sick. I was recovering from a mild bug until then. Now i've got like 4 more maladies which made the drive back across the SW oh so much fun :P. babies are total plague rats. adorable plague rats, but plague rats nonetheless.
Nah Jimmer - just visiting the brother in law whose working out here. My new job is away from education and in the oil industry [joining Dibbs in the field] - they are a Norwegian outfit, but have offices in Houston so might eventually get a move... will be a few years down the line methinks - gotta learn my new post first!
We'll be considerate and post quietly then, mate. Safe travels!
(Jim's already thinking about leaving Tum-Bobo with the folks here. Now that their priest and his faceless allies are all dead, they'll be needing some extra mojo to survive.)
Heh - the twin vipers have already given up on ye sonny. Dibbs has a very foolish though very in character action to take next, but I'll wait to see what Jimmer and Groomy's take is on festivities first.
I think Groom even gets to go before the big sucker too...
i'm thinking it'd be a full round action within melee range and you'd take an AoO.
the attack itself would be ranged touch and do 1d4. self-ignition on a '1'.
stylish, yes. but not as effective as a molotov cocktail.
EDIT: I guess you could fill up before stepping up to blow, but it'd likely still be an AoO since you're untrained and sticking your puss out like that.
I'll post something when I can; right now the house is full of people and I'm trying to keep the food coming. Four different kinds of chili. It's all good.
Heh - my father would be like a kid in a candy store at that show. He's a Geologist who spent many hours / days scoping out good mineral drops from holes in the side of the road / defunct mines. Has also just taken up faceting as his new hobby.
I'm assuming chili means meat plus spices? - not just this?
Reminds me though - need to fry up a fresh batch of Thai red curry paste...
We had a lot of different palates to please, so we went with variety--one "standard" (at least in the US Upper Midwest), with red kidney beans, ground beef, and not a lot of spicing (cumin and a little cayenne); one vegetarian black bean with jalapenos; a green chili stew with pork and potatoes; and an Oklahoma-style chili with grilled beef, anchos, chipotles, crushed tomatoes, and beer. I lucked out with the weather: Friday night I was able to use the outdoor grill to roast the peppers for the green chili stew and sear the beef. I've been trying to match the green chile stew I had in Albuquerque a few years ago, and this recipe came closest.
Dibbets, I make up panang spice paste for panang nya at least once a year. Unfortunately, my wife is on a low-acid, fairly low-spice diet these days, so we don't get to do as much curry any more. (Garlic is still OK, though.)
Suddenly, I feel like there's a voice in the background saying and knowing is half the battle...
I need to make my BBQ baked beans with pork belly again... indulgent food. In other news I am now incredibly hungry.
Jim - my wife isn't as fond of the hot stuff as I am either. I get around it by making the curry fairly mild, then adding an extra couple of spoons of curry paste to my bowl to swirl in before eating ;)
Kaul - the Cap'n suggested something to his Legacy of Fire folks that I think would be perfect for us.... start up a scar / wound tracker for each time you've been dropped into negatives...
My only concern is whether there's enough space in your profile page....
Hey, mates, posting may be kind of thin for me today. The joys of getting older; I had a blood pressure spike a couple of nights ago, and though it wasn't anything damaging the docs still want to give me a stress test this morning. I've got time for a few posts before the sadists, er, techs arrive, but after that I'm not sure what they'll want to do. Wish me luck, eh?
