Round 5
Cahal then takes its throwing axe out. He doesn't like to let go of this one, but Mahmoud just showed him how dangerous going up on the beams is. Let's make it count... He aims for a Pug near Mahmoud, to protect him as he flips around.

Throwing axe: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
MvA: Get to a javelin on the floor.

Male Human Rogue/1

Reflex:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Grand Lodge

Both Mirah and Cahal's shots miss, much to their disapointment, the constant failures of what should have been a simple fight starting to drain the morale of the group.

Mahmoud tries valiantly to leap to safety, but unlucky for him his foot catches and he falls 20 feet to the ground.

Damage:2

Aisha, Bahram and Dhakir, can I have your moves?

Male Human Cleric/1

Bahram draws another javalin and attempts to strike at the creature near Mahmoud.

Attack-Ranged: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Attack-Ranged: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Female Human (Keleshite) Conjurer (Teleporter) 1

Round 5

Trying to retain her focus, Aisha once more shots a dart at one of the pesky creatures.

Aisha fires her crossbow at P1.

Aisha
Attack (Ranged)
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage
1d8 ⇒ 5

Grand Lodge

Try as you might to hit the Pugwampis, everything you do seems cursed, javelin after javelin, bolt after bolt seems to misfire, catch, and generally not work as it should. Both Bahram and Aisha's shots miss.

Dhakir?

Male Human Fighter 1

Sorry, failed my reflex save against a landslide of tasks at work. What ever became of my last shot with the sling (round four)?

Seeing Aisha struggling to pin the creature with her crossbow, Dhakir loads another bullet and takes a shot of his own.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Grand Lodge

Dhakirs first bullet strikes true and kills P1, his next shot isn't so lucky, just missing.

There is only one Pugwampi left outside the tent, and he scurries into safety as well.

You can hear them cackling inside, but they don't seem inclined to come out.

You all breath a sigh of relief, but you know there are more of them up top.

Grand Lodge

Feel free to break initiative for now, but you still feel unlucky

Male Human Rogue/1

Mahmoud stands, holding his back. When he can breathe again, he looks to the others. "Suggestions?"

Female Human (Keleshite) Conjurer (Teleporter) 1

Aisha looks around, trying to estimate how many pugwampis are left.

Leaving a few stragglers behind wouldn't be much of a problem, but being ambushed by dozens of little monsters later in their exploration of the temple is something she wishes to avoid at all costs!

Perception:
Aisha
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Isis
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

"I agree! Plus those creeps are going to jinx us all to Father Skinsaw if we let them scurry around. I don't want to die tripping on my own axe!!!"

Cahal paces back and forth: "How do we get to them?"

Grand Lodge

DC 20 spot check:
You saw the two pugwampis enter the partition, but the movement you see indicates there may be as many as 4, possibly 5 of the gremlins in there.

Male Human Cleric/1

Bahram looks over the partition and shrugs. "I could cast fire on it and perhaps burn them all, but I do not wish to destroy the rest of the hall. What do you think?

Female Human Sorcerer 1

Perception 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8

"Following them may be difficult, but I see no other options short of setting the temple aflame."

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

"I'd say there's 4 or 5 of them up there, in the partition. Why exactly aren't we simply burning them out?"

Male Human Cleric/1

What is the distance to this partition? I can cast a firebolt at them and see what happens!!

Bahram sizes up the distance to the partition and lets loose with a bolt of fire.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

I really hate this unlucky curse thing they have!!! I hope the partition was not more than a 10 AC!!

Male Human Fighter 1

Dhakir nods at Cahal. "He is right. If we can end this quickly, we should do that. This building needs repairs already, what is a little more collateral damage?"

Male Human Rogue/1

perception:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Mahmoud listens to the others as he rubs his eyes, still dizzy from the fall.

Grand Lodge

Bahrams firebolt lands a direct hit on the opening of the partition.

The old canvas is ripe for burning, and the small smoldering spot soon begins to spread, thick clouds of foul smelling smoke being to fill the upper chapel. As soon as the fire catches you hear sounds of screaming from within, and 5 Pugwampis flee their home, the last one is larger then the others and repulsivly fat, with a crown on his head and weilding an oversized warhammer.

I'm going to try grouped combat, like Dreaming warforged suggested, and roll your initiatives to help with speed. How it will work is I'll call your group up, and will resolve your actions in the order they are posted, you can act when your group is called up, or you can wait and see what the others in your group chosoe to do first.

The groups are

Aisha
Dhakir

King Mokknokk

Mirah
Mahmoud
Cahal
Bahram

Pugwampis

The Map, Red is for the spreading fire

Female Human (Keleshite) Conjurer (Teleporter) 1

Ready to react, Aisha decides she'll help her friends trying to disable a few of their foes. She focuses her attention on the obese pugwampi, trying not to think about how much that despicable creature disgusts her, and casts her spell.

Aisha casts Sleep on PK and P closest to it (DC 15). She doesn't move from her spot.

Male Human Fighter 1

Seeing the pugwampis flee from their cover, Dhakir spins his sling with renewed vigor. With a shout of encouragement he lets it loose into the the rafters.

Targeting the repulsively fat one.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

I could use some clarifications as to whether the pugs are on the ground level or up in the rafters still.

Grand Lodge

They have just come out of their tent, as shown in the map they are still on the upper level in the rafters.

King Mokknokk is at the front of the group of Pugwampis fleeing the fire when he suddenly stops dead in his tracks, he slumps down to a crouching position on the rafters, his head hanging forwards and a trail of spittle follows his chins down as he begins to snore. The Pugwampi behind him seems unaffected by the spell.

Dhakir tries hard with his sling, but releases it too early and the bullet travels wide...

Mirah, Mahmoud, Cahal and Bahram, go.

Sleep is a full round to cast. Might want to review Mokkmokk's action.

Grand Lodge

Heh, you're right, save that description for when the spell takes effect ;)

King Mokknokk charges along the rafters at breakneck speed, making for the ladder down.

Female Human Sorcerer 1

Round 1

Seeing the fire starting to spread, and flushing out the Pugwampis, Mirah takes the opportunity presented for some revenge on the vile creatures, striking with another Frost Bolt.

I can't move the map (at work), so Mirah will move within 5' forward and cast Frost Bolt at AU37 Pugwampis

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Touch Range
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Touch Range

1d6 ⇒ 5

Male Human Cleric/1

Readying his sword, Bahram moves over to the ladder, waiting for some of the creatures to come within his reach.

Cahal prepares a charge to get to any Pug that hits the floor. "Come down and talk, you filthy pieces of bad news!"

Ready charge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18; 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
2nd roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Aaaaargh!

Male Human Rogue/1

Mahmoud heads into the fray.

moved on map.

Grand Lodge

Mirah's Frost Bolt hits the beam below the Pugwampi, doing nothing more then giving it cold feet, the other three get ready to take on the Pugwampis if they come down. Cahal however stumbles slighty on a piece of floor that he didn't remember being there 2 seconds ago, and has to fight to keep his balance, spoiling his action.

The 3 Pugwampis scurry along after their king, heading for the ladder as well.

Meanwhile the fire starts to spread along the old canvas fast, and begins lapping at the wooden rafters.

Grand Lodge

Aisha and Dhakir's turn.

Male Human Fighter 1

Watching the pugwampi as they make their way along the rafts, Dhakir stows his sling. He follows Braham toward the base of the ladder, once again arming himself with his boar spear.

Grand Lodge

Alrighty, insert the Kings sleeping text here :P and roll on with the next group ;)

Can Cahal's axe reach the King on the rafters?

Female Human (Keleshite) Conjurer (Teleporter) 1

Aisha takes aim and shoots the nearest pugwampi with her crossbow.

Ranged Attack against P (the "P" farther away from KM I mean). No move action taken.

Aisha
Attack (Ranged)

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

caffeine_addict:
I'm sorry I didn't post earlier, had a job interview and really needed to prepare myself.

On an unrelated note, if we wished to discuss party strategies and combat coordination, should we do it here in-character or in the Discussion section to speed up things? Thank you in advance!

Male Human Cleric/1

Are any of the pugs within striking distance of Bahram's sword?? If not then he will create water as a spray on the burning beams

Female Human Sorcerer 1

A crossbow shot this time, farthest Pugwampi still alive

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

1d8 ⇒ 7

Grand Lodge

The Pugwampis are on upper chapel works, 20 feet up, your melee weapons can't reach them. As for discussing strategy, I'm easy either way, however you guys find it easiest.

Aisha's crossbow bolt knocks Pugwampi off the beam, he falls screaming to the ground, knocked out cold.

Meanwhile Mirah's bolt goes wide.

Bahram decides to focus on putting out the fire that has spread to the wood, the rooftop is filling up with foul smelling smoke though.

Male Human Rogue/1

Mahmoud moves towards the fallen pugwampi, hoping to bind him.

Cahal decides to climb to get to the rafters.

Grand Lodge

The two remaining Pugwampis charge after their King, only to stop dead in their tracks as he suddenly falls asleep. They chatter to themselves then start poking, prodding shaking and yelling at him to wake up.

They spend their turn waking the King up. Aisha and Dhakir?

Male Human Fighter 1

Dhakir moves to the bottom of the ladder and sets his spear, ready to strike at any pugwampis that climbs down.

As a reminder, the spear gives him a 10 foot reach.

Grand Lodge

Mahmoud binds the fallen Pugwampi, though it appears without medical aide it will die soon, Cahal climbs the ladder up to the rafters, only to be charged by the ugliest Pugwampi he's seen to date, weilding an oversized warhammer.

The King rushes in and swings it at Dhakirs knee-caps, only to get his foot caught on one of the choirs pews, he stumbles forwards and misses.

Next group's turn, Aisha, if your turn interupts anything that just happened, I'll re-write things, just keeping it moving.

Female Human (Keleshite) Conjurer (Teleporter) 1

Once more, Aisha takes aim and shoots her crossbow. The disgusting little creatures are really starting to get on her nerves!

Ranged Attack against P2. No move action taken.

Aisha
Attack (Ranged)
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Damage
1d8 ⇒ 5

Cahal smiles: "Ah! Finally! No more throwing and fetching like a stupid dog!"

He swings his axe in a vertical axe slightly parallel to the rafter, aiming for the pug's shoulder.

Greataxe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 OR 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14; 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Male Human Fighter 1

caffeine_addict:
Um, for clarification, what's the king swinging at my knee-caps?
Also, I thought he was still up in the rafters. Dhakir is standing at the bottom of the ladder, so I'm just curious where the attack came from for purposes of my next action.

Grand Lodge

Sorry, I meant Cahal, not Dhakir, my bad! And he's swinging a warhammer I think from memory, I'm out at the moment.

Grand Lodge

Aisha's crossbow bolt misses.

Cahal aims a bit too high and narrowly misses the King, who continues to swing at Cahal's shins, but he too misses pathetically.

The rest of the groups turn.

Female Human Sorcerer 1

Mirah moves in and gathers more magical energy into her hand. A pool of water forms, imbued with frost, which she sends flying at the Pugwampi King.

Action:

Moved to AO11, cast Acid Splash (made cold damage)
Acid Splash (Cold Damage): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Acid Splash (Cold Damage): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Daamge: 1d3 ⇒ 3
