Oh no!
I hope you have a great life, and I'm glad to have spent time gaming with you. Your characters are excellent, and I enjoyed our interaction a lot! Thanks for gaming with us!

Oh no!
Very sorry to lose you, Natanja. You've been a great player.
I hope you don't mind if I script a few actions for Natanja before she bows out of the story. By nature of her character, it's a bit harder to have her just disappear than Vincent.
And, yes, do let me know if you change your mind in the future. She can be worked back in.
All the best to you! Peace and Blessings! :)

Done. Sorry, Vincent. I thought I had done this before, but when I checked, I realized I had just made your character inactive, and not you as a player also. Cheers!
A note to my ten active players:
Thanks for sticking around! :)
I have made NPC aliases of the five player characters we have lost (or seem to have lost based on lack of response to posts or PMs). I will be making some posts as them in the gameplay thread, simply to ease their characters out of the story (or into the background of the story), therefore (hopefully) keeping the story believable, while leaving the door open for those players/characters to (possibly) return at a future point in the game.

Oh dear lord.
Elysium "Eli" Blackdun |
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick. We all are here at the household.
Mommy, Daddy, three-year-old, and infant. Blech.

We're getting there. Half of us are on medication... and re-starting the standard "work week" schedule (plus catch-up for days missed). This past weekend was compounded with nigh impenetrably-slow internet troubles with our sick state and trying to vote on Superstar before the time ran out. This weekend looks to be keeping up... I hope!

The Lord Mayor examines the ring and responds softly, almost to himself.
"Yes, of course. It's a great tragedy. But none of those non-noblemen or children could potentially have become the next King of Theramark. This definitely changes things!"
"... holy poop." says Eli behind his mask, with no trace of emotion.
Except not really, because he's not actually in the room.

+1 but I have no idea where I am or what I'm doing ... 0.0

You've left the Gelthis' (a carpenter shop), and wanted to see a blacksmith's forge. Like a BOSS.
(The mayor's stuff is happening at the same time we're doing the Gelthis conversation/leaving the girl with her uncle.)

hey all gotta catch up some, Not sure what to expect yet...

No worries on catching up... The game is moving pretty slow now... Slower than I'd like, actually, but that's mostly my fault with crazy busy life and exhaustion...
You all split into three groups. More or less simultaneously, these three things are happening:
Arabeth, Chap, Marius, Poterol, and Shyness eat at the Green Tree Inn.
Eli, Aeryth, and Sister Azmaria return Gina to Uncle Max's shop with Bob Treekeep.
Cernan, Lesith, and Natanja report to The Lord Mayor with Captain Ronald.
The first two events have pretty much been played out, so currently the gameplay thread is focusing on finishing the Lord Mayor conversation, to catch up all three timelines to the same spot.
Cheers! :)

Yeah... at this point, I think Cernan (and one of the others?) are ready to just start forging silver arrows for a week while we see what happens (Cernan also now has a vested interest in insulting the mayor). Other characters are pursuing other leads.

Why, wait for an attack, of course! :p

"Slow down a moment Eli. Who was the next chief of Theramark, and where is Theramark? Do we know if this person is indeed deceased? Who is going to become chief of this Theramark now? How do we know a singular wizard is responsible for the travesty at Endurant? What burdens are you talking about?" Chap rapid fires questions while counting them on her fingers as if to keep track of them.
ooc-chat!
Just to clear up any hint of confusion, I/Eli has no idea if it was a wizard or not.
In this, he refers to:
- "King" as "High Chief",
- "Power" as "Burden",
- "(Political) Ambition" as "Insanity",
- and "the wicked akuo~orokku" (which roughly translates to "evil warlock") as an "onimajo" (which roughly translates to "demon witch") as a "wizard".
This is meant to represent a deep-seated cultural divide between his tribal Embishiu and the "civilized world" (his view of "civilization" is "Theramark" and... it's kind of a dim view in general, though he recognizes they've changed from their past).
The sticking point is the last part: akuo~orokku ("evil warlock") and onimajo ("demon witch"): those are not out-of-character class-terms, but rather in-character descriptive ones: among his people and culture, the two terms are mostly interchangeable, and he was grasping for something that was close to "one who makes bad pacts with evil people" which he couldn't call a "priest" (as he knows that also applies to people who make good pacts), didn't think of "cleric" ("isn't that the people who take your money in exchange for goods? I was one once") and would never call a "shaman" (because said "shaman" would be a disgrace to the title), so he was left with "wizard" (in his terms). In other words, it's an in-character role-playing description, rather than anything to be a hint or clue for anyone else. He could well have said "gardener" or "movie villain actor" for all the game-related information it represented (though, given the pacts with outsiders, I wouldn't be surprised if it were some form of caster, arcane or otherwise).
... aaaaaaaaalso, I kind of thought it would be funny to imply that Eli (entirely in innocence) equated the term "wizard" to "evil warlock" and "demon witch", especially with Cernan standing right there (although now that I'm looking, I realize that Cernan is an arcanist instead; oops).
Point being, Eli is using conjecture to point out the facts: someone has made a pact of some kind with "evil spirits" (fiends) and, because it's "too early" to let people know what happened to Endurant, there is some evidence or chance that whoever it is can still be stopped.
EDIT: partially ninja'd by NPC-Natanja

Everyone please make a brief in-character comment in gameplay indicating first guard watch or first sleep. The next significant gameplay will be tailored to those two groups. (Ideally five and five, but could be four and six if six people strongly prefer guarding or dreaming...) Thanks! :)

Cernan isn't even a regular Arcanist; he's a White Mage. In his perspective, "Wizards" are just impudent youngsters with too much ambition and not enough natural talent.
Sister Azmaria |
hey all sorry about silence...
I have been having some creativity blocks lately, I have lots of stuff on my mind lately. I want to actually have meaningful posts.
I guess it cause I will be going on vacation for 2 weeks starting on March 1st, and I still need to find my passport.
Sister Azmaria |
She will stand guard. as she is the best prepared (in her mind) to fight demons / devils.
