DM Lycan |
Welcome all Lycanthropes. I will review the submissions tonight. Looking to get the campaign going no later than Wednesday night.
DM Lycan |
Welcome:
Human Werewolf - Shifter Submitted by Almonihah.
Human Werewolf - Brawler Submitted by Rungok.
Human Werehawk - Incanter Submitted by OmniChaos.
Human Werebat - Harbinger Submitted by Monkeygod.
Human Werewolf - Unshackled Rager Submitted by Edgar Lamoureux.
Human Werespider - Shifter (Alteration) by Tenro.
Johnny dropped due to his commitment in another game I just finished recruiting for. So 6 it shall remain.
DM Lycan |
I'll need to review the Shifter classes tomorrow as it will just be easier to do with the book.
DM Lycan |
I am not requiring much of a backstory but would you prefer to be a creature that dwells IN the forest or a creature that stalks Cities before the campaign begins? Just post here in a spoiler your preference.
Thanks!
BTW, assuming we go for a long haul here we may play a few Classic Modules for Greyhawk that will be intertwined in the campaign though we can freely move in and out of these places as you all see fit.
Tobar Zindelo |
i imagined myself as a person who came from a city but was a rather poor fit, then scraped by "stalking cities" i suppose. live off the land and sell my wares when i can, essentially. not opposed to selling goods cheap to traveling merchants who would be better equipped to make good profits off of them in a city.
DM Lycan |
Edgar has dropped as well. So my original idea of 5 players is where we end up. See it all works out :-)
Igdus |
Igdus abilities and "people" do best in wide/high places so depends on the type of forest or city really. In a forest if their were some places like hills or a small mountain that stuck out above the general sea of tree's that's likely where he would call home. As for a city, depends on the cityscape, if they had a number of tall buildings occupied or not then he could call such a place home.
In short could go ether way. Don't have enough info on the cities or forest to pick myself. xP
Gerwyn |
I've written Gerwyn's brief bit of background such that he's a native of the forest. If the preference is for a city, he could have left the forest at some time to join the rest of the group.
Raze Redclaw |
Here's Raze's character!
Raze actually likes living in towns, and spends most of his time in taverns working as a bouncer. Usually he can get by just fine without anyone catching on he's not -strictly- human, but then has to move away if people give him trouble over it instead of... well, killing them.
DM Lycan |
I'll complete my review tonight and try to have a post up as well.
I am letting Fury submit as we had two drops and he was in from the beginning but work held him back from completing his submission. If he does not have time we will stick with 5.
Gerwyn |
I find it interesting how very different Gerwyn and Tobar's casting traditions are. They might have some good discussions on their different approaches to shapeshifting.
DM Lycan |
Completed a cursory review of submissions, all seems well.
I will get some posts up tonight.

yeah i wanted to encapsulate the actual physiological aspect of the transformation along with the psychological. hence the constitution being used, verbal component in the form of a howl/hiss/growl(mostly hiss so far) "letting loose", an aura coming about as his blood "powers up"... but a toll is definitely taken on the body, hence the draining that can't even be healed when he calls upon his blood to regenerate.
Igdus |
Igdus is a bit of a sharpshooter after a few levels he should have some interesting abilities based off the light and destruction spheres. You guys can brawl while he sits on his bird butt helping you from a distance. ;)
Honestly if I wanted to blow off your ear, it would be blown off. I did not miss and blast the guys head off before he stabbed you by mistake. Why did you hear me say damn it? Well you must have been mistaken. xP
Btw do we have any healing among us?

I do not think there is any healing in the group but you can find ways around that or be VERY careful!
BTW there is a spoiler post up for you!
Gerwyn |
Gerwyn will probably take the Life Sphere in the near future, too... but also with the Regenerate drawback. XD We'll need to be careful and carry some potions (or wands, if anyone has UMD).
Igdus |
You could get a life wand, it would not be constrained by your drawback. A wand with a drawback gets an extra spell point or talent. The only hard requirement is that a wand has to be used via UMD or having the base sphere. Granted wands have limited spell points but it's rechargeable and better then nothing. ;)
Also is it just me or does the DM make us sound like a bunch of savages unless we are were/care-bears. xP
I may just pick up the death sphere and show those so called civilized folks how nasty we can be. Grrrr. :D
Gerwyn |

I can't say I got that impression, no.
A Life wand could be useful, but... I have to admit I don't see Gerwyn getting one. His aesthetic is supposed to be 'I depend on these entirely innate powers', which using a wand would kind of run contrary to.
Tobar Zindelo |
Tobar would use such an item, if he happened across one. He will use whatever works, he is pragmatic. But the idea behind his own Life abilities was much the same, an internal aspect of his blood rather than a magical study.
RE: savages: i do get that feel to a certain extend, but i figured that was part of the allure.
DM Lycan |
You all now have spoilered posts to respond to. You are also now in or very close to the city. Soon Prologues will end and the game will begin with you all together. Meeting at a Tavern. Not an Inn so it's not cliche'. :-)
DM Lycan |
Is it a tavern I work in? Then it's "You all meet at Raze's job." which is not anywhere close to cliche'd. And you'll probably get me fired. :P
Yes as a bouncer :-)
Well maybe you'll probably quit first :-)
DM Lycan |
Updates Saturday. Between work, a wake and table top D&D tonight so there is no time to post today.
Storyteller Shadow |
I swear I had checked this yesterday...
What's a Dive in this instance?
Inn or Tavern that is run down.
DM Lycan |
So, I somehow closed the tab for this... and then it slipped my mind...
Sorry about that. ^-^'
How far behind am I?
Edit: So.... is the door open, or do I still need to open it?
It happens, I will post as if you followed the others in. Update tonight. You did not fall behind as the Holidays slowed my posting to a crawl this year plus falling and spraining my freaking ankle last night...

Holiday injuries suck. Hope you mend soon.

good luck on the injury. eggnog'll do that (or in my case, mulled wine), haha
If only, slippery stairs was the culprit plus they were dark, I'll be leaving my outside garage light on until the late spring from now on.
My daughter was fine so that is all that really matters. Though a two week setback in the gym is going to suck.
DM Lycan |
Yeah I think the holidays are kinda cursed for some. My car just died again, just as it did shortly before Christmas. -.-
That sucks. Usually I am injury free this time of year because I am cautious about where I step but new house new stairs poor lighting and slippery conditions led to crap outcome. Let's hope 2017 is better than 2016 was what a s@!*ty year...
Except for PbP, this is always a place for shelter from the storm :-)
DM Lycan |
OK, updated.
5 of 6 of you are finally at the meeting! Al introductions will be made as the scene continues to unfold.
