Updated my background skills! Also, I've settled up on the Mythic Feat that I want to exchange Mythic Improved Unarmed Strike for (I can wait until next level to respec, if you want):
When you pin your opponent, you take them to the ground.
Prerequisite: Improved Grapple or grab special attack.
Benefit: Whenever you succeed at a grapple combat maneuver to pin a creature, you also knock that creature prone. You need not make a separate combat maneuver check to trip the target, and abilities such as stability that grant a bonus to CMD against trip maneuvers do not apply. As long as you remain stationary and adjacent to the target while maintaining the pin, you are no longer considered grappled.
Now, excuse me, but I have to go freak out IC at Nigrum making a joke.
EDIT: A scroll of Consecrate costs 150 G: want to split it into 25 G each?
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
*Looks nervously at anti-undead spells* o wo;;; If we really need it, then sure, I could chip in.
Also, skills updated. ^^
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
@Nigrum: Do something artsy with it. Or maybe "Profession: Government". We might need that. XD
@GM: So, for Variant Multiclass, how does this sound?
Kineticist Variant Multiclass Advancement
Kinetic Focus: At 1st level, she chooses an Elemental Focus. (No real benefit, but kind of required for the class.)
Kinetic Blast: At 3rd level, she gains the Kinetic Blast class feature. Its damage increases as if she were a Kineticist of half her character level. (So at CL 10, the Kinetic Blast would be equivalent to a CL 5 Kineticist.)
Wild Talent: At 7th level, she gains an Infusion. For the purpose of infusion prerequisites only, she is treated as a Kineticist of her Character Level.
Metakinesis: At 11th level, she can use Metakinesis as a Kineticist of half her character level.
Wild Talent: At 15th level, she gains another Infusion.
The overall idea is to let Azri be a Sith shoot lightning from her fingers, eventually getting Kinetic Blade at 7th and Chain Lightning at 15th. The rules on Burn amuse me - characters who can't suffer nonlethal damage can't accept burn, while Azri CAN accept nonlethal damage... she just reduces it, so I think she technically qualifies. XD Basically, I plan for this to be her backup method of dealing damage from a distance.
Things, uh, may be subject to change based on the final version of the class. *Coughs awkwardly*
Yao Mihara |
How about Profession(Soldier)? Maybe Nigrum has some military background in his past, and it'd come in handy when he ends up leading the Khalharumian (what's the adjectival form?) military.
JonGarrett |
Azri - I'll have to look at the Kineticist a bit. I tend to not pay much attention to classes until the final version. Mostly because then I want to build one invariably using the class features that will get changed the most.
Nigrum - Craft (Tattoos) so you can start marking your kills? Hell, the Inkantation PDF might work with that...
Selena Halfblood |
The good old RPG tactic of "Pick all of the quests and wander around aimlessly:they'll just resolve themselves on the way" wins once again. :P
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
Meanwhile, I'm just busy having flashbacks to another character of mine... =D
But yes, part one of this quest chain is complete! Let's go grab the rest of those Symbols and show those slavers who's in charge around here! D<
B-because it's us. o wo; Which is why we're going to throw them all in prison and make them work for free like they're slaves and murder them if they don't comply. Which would make us their moral equivalents, in a way.
...I should probably stop talking now. *Hides*
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
I think "Government Official" would be appropriate. If we REALLY want to scare them, we'll just call ourselves "Bureaucrats", but I don't want to slide into Lawful Evil...
Nigrum Ensis Halfblood |
Do we have access to any magic crafters?
If no one wants the soulbiter I was wondering if it could be recycled somehow? I would like to use that adamantine to reforge Tsui into an adamantine version. Or should we just sell it and split the gold?
@JonGarrett
How does profession (general) sound for that extra skill point? Will help out once we have a military of some kind. :)
JonGarrett |
If you do, I insist you summon the Infernal Tax Collector at least once.
Ayreth |
We don't currently have any item crafters though it's something I'm considering for later. I'll have to bribe our beloved GM with lots of soda and cherries to do it.
JonGarrett |
Given the nature of the game, item crafting will be an option.
That being said, as you restore the city, you will draw in NPC's capable and willing to craft items for you. You won't get them at half-price, but as rules of the city, 10% off in exchange for a 'Hi, I'm Councilwoman Ayreth and this if my favourite stall in the Market' is not impossible.
Nigrum Ensis Halfblood |
You want me to break your game don't you. With that summoned in the middle of Okeno, it's going to be wiped off the map. Do you have any idea how much back taxes those pirates owe. Transportation alone would be the end of them, think about all those passengers and dependents they go through in a year. xP
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
Azri may pick up 'Display of Intelligence' as a mythic ability at some point. It does nice things for the crafting process. ^^
Ayreth |
It's more that...
Crafting Mastery (Ex): You can craft any magic item as if you had the necessary item creation feats. If you actually have the item creation feat needed for a magic item you're crafting, whenever you attempt a skill check to create that item, roll twice and use the higher result, and you make twice as much progress on the item for any time spent. This ability does not reduce the item's cost or any other requirements.
...is Archmage only. I won't have enough feats to get all the creation ones if everything else goes according to plan.... which it always does. ;)
Nigrum Ensis Halfblood |
A DM once gave a planar bomb to a group of PCs I was in by way of making it the bad guys doomsday weapon. We saved one good plane from it, then used it on an evil plane to skip fighting our way into the evil plane's master's strong hold to take a evil indestructible negative energy epic ring from her. The look on our DM's face can not be described in words allowed on this board. Be careful what you give/use against PC's, you never know what they will do with it. On a side note we did not have a paladin with us, they don't do well when forced to ally we a demilich to save the multiverse. xD
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
And I happen to be an Archmage. o wo~ I can pick up that, then Display of Intelligence, and then perhaps Legendary Item just because that's an incredible power and I like having it. XD ...And maybe Enduring Armor just for lulz.
Yao Mihara |
Enduring Armor is quite nice.
I have a nice thing at one point in my mythic progression. As a Trickster, I get to use path dabbling to swipe one path ability out of any path.
... I'm not sure what I want to use it on, though; if anyone has suggestions, please let me know.
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
If you feel like stabbing things, the Champion's "Fleet Warrior" is a good choice. The third-tier "Precision" is also good if you plan on a lot of iterative attacks.
...Honestly, I do have ideas, but most of them depend on what you want to be doing. XD So let's put it another way - what do you WISH you were able to do?
A. Aibek |
Now I want to bring that infernal tax collector into my Way of the Wicked game...*evil gm chuckle*
Yao Mihara |
One regret with Mihara: Being unable to use anything that's not a short sword efficiently in melee. Between Weapon Focus and the rogue's new weapon finesse dex to damage ability, anything else just isn't worth it.
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
Hah. I can't effectively use ANY weapon.
...Unless I manage that Variant Multiclass Kineticist, anyway. XD Kinetic Blade might be workable.
Selena Halfblood |
So we go cemetery->bury the guy->Tell Azerna about the inn->go work on the pump?
Nigrum Ensis Halfblood |
Considering things I would say we stop at burying the skeleton and talking to Azerna. The pump no doubt has problems, or we would not be going to deal with it in the first place. Which some of us, may not do well against.
A little refresher, Nigrum is out of mythic power and some other abilities as well as not at full health. Ayreth is fatigued and nearly out of spells on top of that. We have had pretty much three encounters, I think we should consider it a day. We are in no rush and we have loot go over.
Selena Halfblood |
Hm, I'm not sure. While you and Ayreth are a little spent up, me, Mihara, and Azri (and Aibek? I don't know if her powers are x/day) are still in reasonable shape.
I agree of going over the loot, though: I realized only after I posted it, but making Ayreth use her daily spells wasn't the best idea. With what we found, we can easily afford a wand of CLW and resolve the out-of-combat healing problem.
What do you want to pick up, by the way? What about the daggers and spear for selling?
Ayreth |
Just fyi, Ayreth's surge powers let her cast extra spells, too. In my mind, if it's still early enough in the day, we should ignore mechanics and press on.
Was the 26 spellcraft enough to identify the daggers?
Selena Halfblood |
It was just around noon when we entered the inn for the second time, so after we bury the body, tell Azerna and buy the wand of CLW we'll still have all of the afternoon.
A. Aibek |
Aibek hasn't transformed to wolf form so hasn't used any Mythic or wolf abilities so pretty much fine other than not able to use Deadly Focus right now as Aibek used it on the corpse.
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
If Azri has one major value, it's probably her staying power. XD
...She may actually have trouble remembering that other people need to rest. I'm basically fine either way, so focus on doing what you'd like. ^^ I would like to get the water situation under control sooner instead of later, though, given all the new people we brought.
Selena Halfblood |
So, what do you guys want to keep from the items we found at the inn? We'll need some cash to buy that wand, and those could come in handy.
Azri, the Lich of Khalharum |
...Which assumes that the city HAS much in the way of cash at the moment. XD I suspect they might be a bit tight on that right now, but we could always ask.
Yao Mihara |
You never gave the detail of any of the items, actually. We know the knives are some kind of special knife whose name I forget, but not the magic on them, and we don't know the magic on the names either.
Yao Mihara |
Gems, not names. My bad, my brain slipped.
With those stats, the knives are... of marginal utility to me, but flavor-wise I can't justify it.
(Basically, I lose the weapon focus +1 and dex to damage from my class, and regain +1 from the magic, and the dex to damage from agile, but I'd deal... one more damage and slightly more critical. I just don't think Mihara would go for it.)
JonGarrett |
Alright, I've been (sleepily) searching for details on the plunder I've given you folks. For some reason I can't find any gemstones in my notes or spot them in posts. I've detailed the more magical weapons you've gotten hold of, but the closest I can find is mentioning the tetsubo is lined with stones. Which are Onyx, 'cos it's cool.
What am I forgetting? Can someone give your poor, slightly addled GM the goodies?
Yao Mihara |
There was a lockbox in the chest. When Mihara opened it, there were some gemstones within.
Inside is a collection of amethyst and silver in a mystic theme jewellery, although it's difficult to value.
Guess I misremembered and thought they had magic going on. Could I get a monetary value on them?
Appraise: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Yao Mihara |
You are talking to the younger sister of the lord of the Yao clan, fine hosts and finer merchants, honorable JonGarett.
Did the gems ding on Azri or Ayreth's magic-o-meter? I believe this might have been asked earlier.
