I'd love too, but that mostly depends on if everyone is willing to time skip or have something to do in the meantime.
Also Drive is a separate thing right? would this be an alchemical vehicle for which skill we use? Do I also need any special proficincies to use the dwarfs cannon? My guess is that it is just like a siege weapon.
Lord Foul II |
In modern settings Drive is a dex based skill, and is a class skill for most everyone
If a seperate skill is used for air and/or water vehicles it's usually an int based skill called poilt
However you could alternately use profesion (driver or pilot)
As to the cannon... If it's a seige weapon, I'd think you'd need either the seige engineer class, a dip in gunslinger, or ask the GM nicely to let you be proficient in it

Well I was looking at the vehicle rules on the pfsrd and I didn't see a seperate skill for Drive, just a list of normal skills used depending on the propulsion type. For example: the Tank from Rasputin Must Die requires Craft (Alchemy) or Knowledge (Engineering) to operate.
I wonder if I could still operate the cannon and just eat the -4 from nonproficiency? I've never looked at the rules for siege engines.
GM Wolf |
I asked about time skipping and all I got in response was chirping crickets... :(
Also as I have said before this is a PC driven sandbox game. Especially since the group did not like what I came up with in the first part. So until you get a NPC involved, I am waiting on you guys!
Yes Drive is a separate dex based skill. It really depends on what kind of cannon you want. The most basic cannon that he likely would create for you would simply sit in your vehicle and you light a fuse to make it shoot. A simple crank to increase or decrease the angle of the cannon.

YESSS tiME SKIP FROM MEE!!
Velden Lansell |
Yeah, time skip is fine, sorry, hopefully life will get less complicated soon.

I like Taunk's wall of checks better, otherwise I have to do math... Michel go ahead and roll them again or I will just do the rolls.
Oh... If someone has time you can even figure out how much percentages are done...check it out:
Work on the 12th of December, 2832 CED:
6 hours, prioritizing the Mwk tool (Detonator kit), result 28, DC is 20= 5% plus 5% for every 5 above the check (plus 2% every two hours worked over 4, with an extra 2% for each 5 above the check), Total percent done: 14%
4 hours, then the buggy, result 35, DC is 25 = 5%, plus 5% for every 5 above the check, Total percent done: 15%
4 hours, then the piping, result 18, DC is 12 = 3% plus 1% for every 5 above the check, Total percent done: 4% done. (Not technical but hard work, takes time more than anything.)
Instead of adding more time you can decrease the DC by 5 for an additional 4 hours of work. As Taunk would likely do.
So... Taunk:
5 days of good work= 25% done, three days with a bonus 5% done, for a total of 40% more done.

Velden I will had wave your checks since the DCs are low and you have a pretty good labor force. The buildings are up to snuff, with shutters, some comforts, and mostly sealed. The outer wall is secured and a ladder made of metal pipes has been inserted into the wall to allow an easy climb up to the couple thousand foot overlook. The irrigation is up and a semblance of a garden is in place. Anything else you want done? This can easily be a group question.
Velden Lansell |
I wasn't even sure what you wanted me to roll, since it's not my skills. :)
All I can do is roll inspections. :)
Sorry, been kind of cruising in autopilot on this game, since it's mostly going slow right now and everyone is off on different things.
Do we have enough supplies to build a greenhouse to start growing some veggies and such?
GM Wolf |
No worries we are a bit low on involvement right now. I am also waiting to see everyone's actions. Unless someone says otherwise I am leaving it Sandbox. Also I have been busy with everthing as well.
Greenhouse... likely not at least until you find enough glass or make it yourself. The garden has been started though.
Velden Lansell |
Doesn't have to be glass. Not if we can find some sunlamps...
Aannra...Blake |
so what are we doing??
GM Wolf |
I got some info from Velden but not much on confirmation of what he does for the week.
Taunk I believe has finished his vehicle.
I have no one else posting... I have quite a few guesses as to what some others might want to do but no communication.
I am a bit confused did you want more structure than this? Are you done with this game?
Velden Lansell |
I don't have the right skills for anything we are doing right now, so Velden's mostly keeping watch and trying to administrate as best he can.
My life's been very complicated lately, so my posting rate is off it's normal thing.
I do think the game is a bit too free flow at the moment. And without someone in the party as a player who likes to take the initiative, it makes it hard to get all the cats to mosey in the same direction. Up until now, I think I've been doing a lot of the motivation, whether I wanted to or not (note this applies to the previous game as well), even when I tried not to as I was afraid I was taking over other people's time.
Is anyone still here? If so, I think we need to talk OOC about what we want to do as a group.
Sledj |
I'm still here.
Sledj's skills entail: killing, drinking, barbequeue, and alchemical creation.
None of that really contributes more than that of a day laborer.
If craft (alchemy) can make glass ware, or begin the setup for a brewery/distillery, then I'll be doing that.
If not, just point at the heavy stuff to be lifted and carried.
Michel Tam |
job and family stuff has kept me busy the past few days
know engeneering for 64 hours:

perception to find food or anything interesting for 8 hours:

GM Wolf |
Go for it Taunk!
So for the last week Sledj has been creating a distillery and brewery. Creating glass can be done but it really is just a craft skill.
Michel has been working on building stuff for the group. Irrigation system +70% done. Looking around he finds many more materials to add to the creation of the town, likely building materials for the bar. There is a bar in the mansion. ;)
Velden I understand. It seems a bit weird that 'only' you have some concerns that it is too free for all.
This is directed at the other players not Velden, 'What do you want? I can use my NPCs to lead you on missions or to lead you to a mission. Or something far more nefarious. Cast your vote and give me some information, especially since you are not making any choices.'
Presently you have the ex-mayor and a bandit locked up in the prison. There are plenty of things to kill. Plenty of gear that looks like is not being used. Bounty board will be updated soon, but no one has checked it out so I didn't see why I should.
Michel Tam |
In other news, Taunk needs to start searching for a doctor pretty soon here. How should I go about getting that information GM?
i have cure spells, why do you need a medic?
As to the vote thingy, Michel kinda wants to either make his way to a bigger vilage, or bring more creature comforts here,
Other than that, he'll go with whatever you guys decide.
Taunk Ironthane |
GM - cool, that's what I figured. Just wanted to make sure you knew I was gonna start looking for that information soon. I haven't seen Claptrap for a while though. I may be able to hack it on my own... is a +7 Knowledge Engineering worth a shot.
Michel - Backstory stuff - I've got meself a terrible virus just waiting to ravage it's way through my system. Taunk hopes that maybe the newly discovered Eridium can be used for a cure.
Velden Lansell |
On the map, where it says 'canyon'. Is that a canyon as in a hole the ground, or canyon as in 'you are in a big canyon and this is the inner wall'?
If the latter, that's where Velden wants to get. If the former, it looks like he could get a bead on the bandits from the opposite side of the area (the wall marked B)
GM Wolf |
Wedding, check. Moving in, ongoing. Summer job, found. Free time limited.
Nonetheless I am back now and plan to be posting at least once per day. Sorry for being away for so long but as you can tell from the list above I have been very busy and my internet limited. Who is still interested in this game?
Aannra...Blake |
Yep Aannra us to, for get the last post that was to see of the GM was around, which they are now.
GM Wolf |
So sorry guys, loss of internet on many ends, really busy with the new job, and barely finding any time to do much more than survive in RL. Finally I can surface and hopefully can make some time each day. I know you have all heard this from me before but I do want to play, just RL has been bulldozing me. This is the first time I have had time to pull out my laptop in the past two weeks. Thanks for understanding and I hope to move things forward today.
I am sorry I have failed you. I believe this game has died, anyone object?
Velden Lansell |
Yeah, I think it's probably dead. I've been buried at work anyway.
Aannra...Blake |
Nope make it inactive please
