Just don't generalize.
There's been good man and bad men on all fronts of every war, ever(except maybe the great emu war of australia).
And a lot of those who fell in with the ideology were not aware of the full extent of it's crimes against humanity.
And modern-day fans of the concept are usually not smart enough to understand the full range of what they embrace. I mean, in other words: you wouldn't run over a retarded person for being stupid - unless he is retarded in a special way involving swastika tattoos? Wanting to eliminate a whole group of people by lethal force for a perceived shortcoming(their lack of intelligence/upbringing/social skills and their political views) kind of makes you mirror what you hate them for(staring into the abyss and all that, just from a different high horse).
Note: I'm not looking to start a discussion. Nazis were bad, I'm glad it ended like it did. But not all is black&white. Just a light-hearted reminder on that.
Source: Great-Grandfather survived Eastern Front+Gulag, didn't know half the stuff that took place behind the front.

Note accepted and ignored lol: I understand that a radicalized movement took over from a crushed nation starving for food and pride after an humiliating and destructive Treaty of Versailles. I understand that many common people knew little but that they waited to pay inflated prices for a loaf of bread.
I also understand ignorance and lack of basic needs do not excuse the horrors accomplished by many either of which many more turned a blind eye. Finally, after years in the military I will tell you as a man that I would gleefully and willingly kill as many as was needed to save one more from the gas or the oven. I would kill them all.
Back to our regular scheduled fun.

*shrug* All those military-industrial complexes claiming supremacy based on faith/species/government form and trying to exterminate their anathema are the same to me. To hell with all extremists. So yeah, I'm probably more of a radical than you(just more selective), at the same time making me a hypocrite since my understanding tells me being radical is bad. Paradox much?
But yeah, sorry for bringing it up, back to game time :)

well, pretty sure a conversation about personal ideologies could make a vampire jihad look warm and fuzzy if we weren't careful :)
but, for me, the important question is..
are you guys enjoying the game so far?
*G*
I can tell you some of the character development I did not quite expect, but all of it has been good

And thats noble of you. You are right, however. It was unfair of me, no matter the intent behind my words, to state my opinion and at the same time effectively telling others not to respond.
In the interest of keeping this thread focused on the game rather than personal ideologies, I am willing to take it to PM if someone feels the desire or need to respond to something I wrote.@ST Gloaming: I am enjoying myself. But I suppose that was evident by the post frequency so far :)

It's been a lot of fun for me so far. Great start!

Good to hear folks are enjoying the game. I know post frequency will taper off (By myself eventually at least because I'm old and tired) but I'm pleased with the enthusiasm. Hard part maybe keeping everyone's time syncing up for meetings and the like but if you folks will forgive a little light fudging now and then even that shouldn't be too big a hassle.
Bet I'm going to wish I had that willpower point. :)
Pshaw! It's not like you're going into a room full of mind controlling and soul twisting monsters anytime soo...
ohoh dear

Honestly? We all need to be on the same page to start with, until a "Prologue" is over i'm happy over train tracks, because it keeps things moving.
Later, it's not so much of an issue if we diverge a bit(timelinewise)...but right now, it's healthy to not stall :)
Also, I'm ready to proceed(as in, I had no significant plans for those last 107 seconds before midnight except rush to the meeting)

You wastep 102 seconds! SHAME!!!!!

Not everybody has a built-in stopwatch, though ;)
Plus, a little bit of a buffer won't hurt.
You know, to catch her breath after running all the way.
She's used to it. And it's a habit she's not trying to break.
Plus, you know, finding a seat, in case the lady-prince wants to start right at 12:00.

The grand gathering's description may be later tonight, sorry folks.
No worries, big posts take time, I understand completely :-)

Uh-hu. I tagged someone. Maybe unjustly. Maybe correctly.
Either way, there's a condition of them drawing suspicion again.
No matter if I am right or wrong, I'm fine with the interrogation playing out a bit longer without my participation(while I keep eyes on my mark), but IF I am right, I would prefer that part to play out before someone else calls it(thus giving the mark a chance to speak up itself if it so chooses), so I posted early.

I saw you marked me in a spoiler but I'll wait for the ST to announce a roll and let's see if I make them before I can open them :-)
So far, the dice gods have been against me but that's why I became the ST/DM to begin with, the dice hate me!

I think I'll wait a bit for Paolo. I don't want him feeling left out.
And I'll double check, but I believe Elysium rules are very much up to the Keeper and the Prince so can vary, but in this case use of disciplines maybe considered a touch gauche, and there maybe a warning to keep escalation down.
Violence is right out, unless, of course, it's violence done in the name of the Traditions by the Prince,Sheriff, or Keeper.

Sorry for holding things up. Busy day, then a couple hours helping a few historian friends with their podcast project.

For the protocol, Alyson REALLY thinks shes doing the caitiff a favor by getting him killed before he messes up. She's actually using traditions as a tool to support her religious beliefs, not the other way round...
Plus, of course, it's a bonus that it's the exact opposite of what the guy who called her bloodline a caitiff off-shot wants. Not a reason, but a plus regardless.
@Arthur: Discussing the existance of god with a religion nut? Bold move :)

Arthur has dealt with MUCH loonier fanatics not to worry ;-)
