"Death flies! Hahahahahahahahahahaha!" Jugag says, firing two arrows. War rain falls from the sky and trees sprout from the plant-beast, leaking its sap over the ground. But, it's sticky life begins to seal the wound close!
Beside him, Arkhan Storm-Brother calls upon the power of the Thunderer! The fog rises into the air, forming a small cloud above the plant-beast. Rull's own spears stab at the beast, blinding it to its foes! Twice it lashes out with its tentacles, but only one connects, and Jugag feels his ribs shatter! The beast bites at Arkhan, but the Storm-Brother's Rull-spears blind it and the slave of Rull is unharmed!

"In this place even the garbage attacks you!"
He trots towards the creature.
Are we in difficult terrain?
Move action to Study the creature, then another move forwards to next to Jugag. If it is not Difficult terrain then I can go further and will stop right behind Kern, so I can 5' step beside him next round and attack with flank.
BTW, do orc double axes do 1d10 damage now?

Bottom of Round 1
"Destroyer show this create oblivion!" The rotten-green corpse-bolt arcs from the shaman's finger and pierces the plant-beast. The death-light burns the beast, rotting away its leaves and vines. The plant-creature screams in pain and thrashes the air with its tentacles in rage.
Fierce One-Eye calls out into the forest air with bravery and battle-lust, as Ozak positions himself for a killing blow. "This creature means NOTHING!" Kern shouts, and strikes with his axe once more as his beasts pounce. Twice, Grell's sharp claws rake across the creature, ripping leaf and vine from its spirit-hide. Razorbeak snaps, shattering twigs and branches like sweet bone.
50% miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 44 miss
Finally, Dread Thoku enters the fray. The chief moves slowly this time not sure of the location of the threat. Once he hears the call to combat as his fist teeth strike the beast, the bloodied one charges in the direction of combat to join in the taste of battle. But his claws and bite strike only air, as he the spirit-plant's vines move away from the Bloddied One's tusks at the last moment!
Yes, it's difficult terrain.
Also, no, double-axes are only 1d8s (i just looked on d20pfsrd]

Totally right, I should be doing 1d8. I had originally picked the double-axe thinking i could two-weapon fight, but I decided against that a while ago. Could I just switch it to a Greataxe, which is how I've been using it this whole time?

blarg i forgot the miss chance for my blindness and of course its a miss when i roll max arg...at least that was not a crit that ended up as a miss...and kern i think you should just change it up once we get back to the tribe

Cool, so Kern has been using (this whole time) a greataxe, that I'm calling an "Orc-forged greataxe" for flavor purposes. :)
I missed the post with the hammer, can someone link that?

Laughing, Jugag released two more huge arrows at the plant creature.

Laughing, Jugag released two more huge arrows at the plant creature.
"Death flies! Flies! Hahahahahahaha!" Jugag's war-rain falls from the sky. With perfect aim it strikes the plant creature twice. Yet, his arrows cannot pierce its mossy hide!
Once more, Arkhan Stormbrother calls upon the gift of the Thunderer! Another storm cloud forms about the spirit-plant, striking it with the Thunderer's own spears! Light flashes and sleet strikes it sapping at its strength and distracting it from its purpose.
The spirit beast grabs Arkhan in its thorny maw, crushing him, and rending his flesh with its wicked teeth! The storm-brother feels poison sap into his body, stealing his strength, and freezing his limbs! Although, he rejoices as this is only strike the plant-creature makes.

The fist descends on the plant-beast and rip it to shreds beneath their combined fury! Warblade and claw, fang and shadow! All hack and cut and split the creature, until it is but kindling for the fire. Arkhan is safe from the creature's maw, though he still remains frozen by the beast's venom.
End of combat
Ok, so the thing will regenerate unless it's put to flame. And, Arkhan is paralyzed for a while. what you like do?
Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth |
Ozak pulls out a jug of whiskey and pours some on the body of the plant. He then pulls out a flint and steel and lights it.
"Shame to waste good whisky like that. Heh."
Choot Othul |
Choot will investigate the area to see if the plant creature held any sort of treasure trove or if past victims perhaps simply left anything behind. With Arkhan still paralyzed, the group will have to wait it out anyway.
Take 20 on Perception for a 25.
Kern Dead-eye |
Kern will attempt to extract some of that venom for use later.
Survival: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Thoku the Bloodied One |
Thoku moves to the druid nifs him twice then grabs him and tosses arkhan on his back. "if he can move soon good, if not we have some meat to test potential traps. Lets move"

Kern's skill with poisons is sound. One-Eye extracts a single dose venom from the spirit-creature's fangs, while his chief sniffs at the frozen storm-shaman. Thoku's broad shoulders have no issue carrying the limp form of Arkhan storm-brother as Choot and the warriors of the Tribe of the Bleeding Storm explore the spirit-forest. Throughout, strange animals call out from the dense undergrowth, jumping through the boughs of the trees and scurrying about the ground.
The tribe stalks beneath the wooden bridge, trailed by Ewigga, the crone. Eventually, they come to another hollow tree that opens to a vast hallway. The curved corridor is full of the clinging sweet scent of a thousand flowers dangling from vines and creepers that hang from the ceiling and trail up the walls. Such disgusting sweetness cause the tribe's gorge to rise in their throats. But, they choke it down, and stand proud at the doorway.
The earth-shamans names these flowers Xtabay. To breathe their scent is to fall into death-like sleep. Then, the flowers feed.
Arkhan Silvinesti |
Assuming Arkhan is free from being paralyzed prior to arriving at doorway.

Reaching for his wand, the chuckling druid taps himself.
Anyone else?
By the way; dont smell those flowers.
Choot Othul |
Choot wrinkles his nose in disgust, "Why should any Orc ever smell a flower?"
DM, how long is the hallway? I am thinking about giving each of us Death's Kiss so we become undead for a short duration and run through the hall. This way the poison, if any, will not effect us...

That's a great question, it's 100' long
Choot Othul |
Choot turns to Arkhan, "Will any of these plants attack us like that ground creature did?If not the Destroyer can grant short immunities to the ails that plague the living..."
So at a run we should all be able to get through it in a round..
Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth |
Don't see any but they are able to hide themselves amoung the normal cursed foliage!
"What?"
Ozak scans the area trying to spot any creature that might be hiding in the foliage.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Kern Dead-eye |
"If there are creatures here, they will reveal themselves."

Choot begins to "gift" his allies the experience of being a devout follower of the End of Everything even if only so briefly.
I will dispense with the Death's Kiss power as follows: 1. Ozak, 2. Thoku, 3. Jugag, 4. Kern, 5. Arkhan, and finally, Choot! For that round, you will be treated as undead and thus immune to poison...
Ozak "Badaxe" Daggertooth |
"Well, here we go." Ozak grits his teeth.
As soon as Choot gives Ozak his "gift," Ozak sets off at a full run down the corridor. Running takes me 120' but I am flat-footed.

Jugag grunts his thanks and then breaks into a run.
Kern Dead-eye |
"Thank you, brother." and Kern also runs in, following his allies. Grell follows, and Razorbeak simply flies overhead.
Arkhan Silvinesti |
Arkhan has Speed 40
Arkhan grants Rull's guidance on each member of the Fist just prior to each running off.
Each receives Guidance for 1 minute, starting at your run.
The druid--respectfully--nods at Choot. Arkhan then dashes maddly behind the others.
Choot Othul |
Choot grins, "The Destroyer watches over us and beckons us to smash this place in His name!"
