Pretty much what DarkOne the Drow said.
The materials that would be found in a shop are Druk Hide, Dragon bone and Catastrophe Raider. Rest would have to be found only reason those three are sold is because of what they come from and what those creatures do.
Caine again going to say it is improvised again but you can hold your stein while using brass knuckles.
Doomed Hero |
Alright. (looking at it again, I guess I wouldn't even need to use the brass knuckles. I can do unarmed damage while holding anything)
Another thing-
DM DarknLight |
The Church of Light worships the High Priestess and the Sentinel. Otherwise they are built and act very much like the Catholic Church but instead of the trinity, switch for the High Priestess and the Sentinel. The Heroes who helped them stop the invaders are saints of the church. They have false titles for people to try to get the common folk to helping them like your character. There are also people in the church that know the truth and aim to advance it.
I could tell more if you gave me questions on what you wanted to know exactly.
There are ten intelligent races in the Drake Sea region. Three of the last five are what are the orcs, goblins and ogres of my world. Last two are so rare that people think they are myths. The players races are the most common races. The Church of Light uses Avari for their knight roles because of their strength and forcefully presence along with lacking in some common sense.

Avari are the knight type race. The blood drinking is a throw back, which will get explained in game. The tattoos are just a cultural thing. The racial hatred would be best if I explained Incto and Rium are the orc and goblins in that order of my world. The Incto take what they want in every sense of those words, enslave children, and go on random killing sprees. The Rium eat babies, spread disease, try to raise undead and poison everything.
DM DarknLight |
Sorry I did not see Fafhrd put up last night, he is ready to go. With a three to two vote Animus will be the backer.
First thing you all will receive for sure from Animus are the following:
Clockwork spy.
Masterwork Backpack
Explore's Outfit
Travelers Outfit
2 Sunrods
Bedroll
Compass
Crowbar
2 Waterskins
2,000 gp worth of items that your character may need.
Ex: Flask or bottles for alchemists, potions, scrolls.
2 magical or wondrous items that are not weapons or armor. The cost of these two items might not be greater than 8,000 gp in total. Magical items from 3.5 are allowable but please ask first so I can check them out.
1 Masterworks Weapon
The weapon can be made from the following special materials:
Damascus Steel
Dragon Bone
Juggernaut bone
1 Masterworks Armor
The armor can be made from the following special materials:
Druk Hide

Hides can only be uses to make light armor.
Bone can only be used to make heavy armor.
Dragon bone weapons do 1d6 damage based on dragon type.
Juggeranut bone weapons can only be used on blunt weapons. Increase damage dice of weapon by one.
The group as a whole receive the following:
2 Bergsra (think bigger oxen)
The group as a whole also has 500 gp for when you all get to Spesi.
Wagon
2 Large chests
weeks worth of animal feed.
four superior locks.
200 ft of hemp rope.
three large tents
You all each get an assistant. Please tell me the preferred class combo of your assistant and which race you want them to be. They start off at level 2, they increase in level but they never go on missions with you.
DarkOne the Drow |
I see you listed two outfits, do we choose which outfit we have, or take both?
Love the crowbar that everyone gets, even though not everyone has roguish skills.
What races could I choose from for Chuluun's assistant?
DarkOne the Drow |
At this point I looking at liganin ranger/sorcerer as assistant to Chuluun. I continue when I get back this afternoon.
Looking at the races again, I could have built a far better technical character: a liganin druid/rogue. Though no change wanted, as I wanted to have a ferrin and took druid at the time as others were focussed on other interesting classes.
DarkOne the Drow |
Yep, it is a tough one. I decided on a warden ranger seer oracle liganin for the following reason. The ranger part would help in surviving in the wilds of various terrains and some extra healing, while the seer part is for obtaining information needed for the missions.
DarknLight: Wagon is a light, medium or heavy? (UC 183) For carrying capacity.
Doomed Hero |
I'd like an Avari Cleric/Alchemist as my assistant. A sort of Medic/Squire type focused on crafting single use items and patching me up after fights.
Would you allow this item to boost the Brawler's abilities that replace Armor Training?
I'm pretty sure that the rules governing Archetypes and replacement abilities allow it, but I wanted to be sure.
DM DarknLight |
Darkone The Drow: Okay I will get up stating your assistant. It is a medium wagon.
Ironic Hero: At the start you guys will not be out on missions more just exploring, or find out information. Also while you are out on missions npcs will try to get in contract with you. They will do this through your assistants. Pretty much what assistants do in real is what these will be doing for you all.
Same as DarkOne, will get working making your assistant.
Doomed Hero: Going to say yes, but if ability has a maximum you have to go by that maximum. So say the ability maxes out at level 12 and you are level 8 with the sash, the ability does not increase again at level 12.
Same on the assistant.
Fafhrd "The Fallen" |
I'm still figuring out the assistant. I'm kind of thinking about a Cleric/Wizard that tries to serve Gurzil through serving his idol. A man that possesses the strength he lacks.
Also, I was wondering if the Druk Hide inflicts its bleed damage upon one's opponent if he grapples them as well. As unfortunately bone is out of my access since Fafhrd lacks proficiency in heavy armor.
Niketsu Sedai |
I think I'm going to have to drop out, Darknlight. Facts are that I'm finding my time pretty short right now, and with a new baby around i am getting little sleep. I would like to be able to keep up with the games i am already involved with, and it likely just poor timing to add another now. Once things settle down and we get into a riutine around the home, i hope to have time enough to pick up another game. Keep me in mind if you need a replacement player down the road. I figure it better to make that decision now then after the game has started. Thanks for including me. Your world seems very interesting, and I regret I won't be able to learn more about it just yet.
See you in RotRL and CC!
DarkOne the Drow |
I thinking of taking the Efficient Quiver as one of Chuluun's wondrous items. I wondering if you would allow the shaft of the scythe to be placed into the quiver like spears and staffs, even if the blade sticks out at the top.
Also for the purpose of storing items, do you consider a light crossbow to be equivalent to a bow for shape to be stored in quiver?
Greyson Caine |
I really have no idea what to spend Caine's money on. He doesn't need any gear (at least not right now), and I'd planned on having him start as a drunk in a bar that's recruited by someone who'd managed to recognize him (or something like that, up to you really)
He doesn't need the armor either. I'd planned on having him wear armor at some point, but I don't want him to do it until he manages to get his hands on the armor he used to wear when he was a symbol of the church. What should I do with the "free armor" for now?
As for the weapon, I guess I'll go with a longspear. I hadn't planned on him starting with anything though. What do you think of an early encounter where I can just take a special material longspear from an enemy?
