Let me go look stuff up because that one is a bit tricky.

Rather interesting materials for armour. Just need to add them to the website.

Yeah, I kind of want to hold back on equipment till I know prices...

M Human Warpriest HP 21/25 | AC 14 T 13 FF 13 | Ft +5 Rf +1 Wi +6 | Init +0 | Perc +5 | Fervor 1/4, Blessing 3/3, ACTIVE:

I think it would be way more interesting to harvest teh materials in-game than to buy it. I don't know what most of those critters are, but I bet they would be exciting fights.

I'm doubting all of it would be within our gold range at this point, but it could give some more flavor to my character to purchase something that goes with the realm we will be playing in.

I believe that when all 5 characters are up, DarknLight, will give us more information and also handle the equipment.

Pretty much what DarkOne the Drow said.
The materials that would be found in a shop are Druk Hide, Dragon bone and Catastrophe Raider. Rest would have to be found only reason those three are sold is because of what they come from and what those creatures do.

Caine again going to say it is improvised again but you can hold your stein while using brass knuckles.

Male Changeling Fighter 1, Monk 1, Rogue 1, Ranger 1, Actor 5

Alright. (looking at it again, I guess I wouldn't even need to use the brass knuckles. I can do unarmed damage while holding anything)

Another thing-

Spoiler:
Since I'm originally from the church of light I was hoping you could tell me more about it. Also, I'm not really sure about the races of your world, but I get the feeling that the races we're all playing are kind of exotic. Would I still be an Avari if I was from wherever the church is from? Wouldn't I be whatever race/culture the church is?

Male

Here is Fafhrd without his gear.

Doomed Hero:

The Church of Light worships the High Priestess and the Sentinel. Otherwise they are built and act very much like the Catholic Church but instead of the trinity, switch for the High Priestess and the Sentinel. The Heroes who helped them stop the invaders are saints of the church. They have false titles for people to try to get the common folk to helping them like your character. There are also people in the church that know the truth and aim to advance it.

I could tell more if you gave me questions on what you wanted to know exactly.

There are ten intelligent races in the Drake Sea region. Three of the last five are what are the orcs, goblins and ogres of my world. Last two are so rare that people think they are myths. The players races are the most common races. The Church of Light uses Avari for their knight roles because of their strength and forcefully presence along with lacking in some common sense.

DM

Spoiler:
Ok, thanks. That helps a lot. The reason I was asking about the race thing is because the avari seem pretty savage, what with the blood-drinking and the tattoos and the racial hatred. I wanted to play someone a little more paladin-esque, but frankly none of the races we had to choose from really fit. The Avari is closest, but I was just wondering if there was anything else to choose from.

Caine:

Avari are the knight type race. The blood drinking is a throw back, which will get explained in game. The tattoos are just a cultural thing. The racial hatred would be best if I explained Incto and Rium are the orc and goblins in that order of my world. The Incto take what they want in every sense of those words, enslave children, and go on random killing sprees. The Rium eat babies, spread disease, try to raise undead and poison everything.

Male Changeling Fighter 1, Monk 1, Rogue 1, Ranger 1, Actor 5

Ok, great. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

The more information that is being brought to light of the setting is making me even more excited about the adventure.

Sorry I did not see Fafhrd put up last night, he is ready to go. With a three to two vote Animus will be the backer.

First thing you all will receive for sure from Animus are the following:
Clockwork spy.

Masterwork Backpack

Explore's Outfit

Travelers Outfit

2 Sunrods

Bedroll

Compass

Crowbar

2 Waterskins

2,000 gp worth of items that your character may need.
Ex: Flask or bottles for alchemists, potions, scrolls.

2 magical or wondrous items that are not weapons or armor. The cost of these two items might not be greater than 8,000 gp in total. Magical items from 3.5 are allowable but please ask first so I can check them out.

1 Masterworks Weapon
The weapon can be made from the following special materials:
Damascus Steel
Dragon Bone
Juggernaut bone

1 Masterworks Armor
The armor can be made from the following special materials:
Druk Hide
Hypnalis Hide

Note on Special Materials:

Hides can only be uses to make light armor.
Bone can only be used to make heavy armor.

Dragon bone weapons do 1d6 damage based on dragon type.
Juggeranut bone weapons can only be used on blunt weapons. Increase damage dice of weapon by one.

The group as a whole receive the following:
2 Bergsra (think bigger oxen)

The group as a whole also has 500 gp for when you all get to Spesi.

Wagon

2 Large chests

weeks worth of animal feed.

four superior locks.

200 ft of hemp rope.

three large tents

You all each get an assistant. Please tell me the preferred class combo of your assistant and which race you want them to be. They start off at level 2, they increase in level but they never go on missions with you.

I see you listed two outfits, do we choose which outfit we have, or take both?

Love the crowbar that everyone gets, even though not everyone has roguish skills.

DarknLight:
I was wondering if there a possibility to have an unusual exotic assistant for Chuluun, considering Chuluun being druid, and been travelling the world while undergoing his instruction with a menhir savant druid. On his travels he would have met many creatures who could act as druid assistants. Just thinking off hand of the frey, centaurs, and the like.

What races could I choose from for Chuluun's assistant?

You take both outfits.

DarkOne the Drow:

The assistants are being hired by Animus not ones you have all meet. So just the basic races.

Tomorrow morning I decide on the race assistant for Chuluun.

Assistant also gestalt characters? Are we creating another character?

At this point I looking at liganin ranger/sorcerer as assistant to Chuluun. I continue when I get back this afternoon.

Looking at the races again, I could have built a far better technical character: a liganin druid/rogue. Though no change wanted, as I wanted to have a ferrin and took druid at the time as others were focussed on other interesting classes.

Druk hide [studded] leather armour. How does it cause additional bleeding? Can one wear a backpack without damaging backpack, or the armour hide? If bleeding is from spurs and hooks, won't opponent's armour prevent the bleeding?

That is the effect of touching Druk hide with natural attacks and unarmed strikes. I cannot really say more without ruining the monster. Only flesh takes the bleed damage.

I have class all day today so if you have questions put them up just will have to answer them later.

Okay, enjoy your lectures. It just means I will only see your answers tomorrow afternoon, due to timezone difference. I am on UCT +2:00 all year round.

Do we have to create another gestalted character to be our assistant, without a background?

No I make the assistant.

Liberty's Edge

What purpose does the assistant serve, exactly?

I would like the assistant to be a warden ranger (UC 68) seer oracle (UM 59) liganin.

I guessing the assistant is to provide auxiliary services to your character, in such a way that you can benefit from the service of assistant to achieve your intended goal during a mission.

Liberty's Edge

I figured as much, but I'm having difficulty figuring out how this works if the assistant doesn't go on missions with us. All I can think of is an Alchemist/Something that makes lots of potions for me.

Yep, it is a tough one. I decided on a warden ranger seer oracle liganin for the following reason. The ranger part would help in surviving in the wilds of various terrains and some extra healing, while the seer part is for obtaining information needed for the missions.

DarknLight: Wagon is a light, medium or heavy? (UC 183) For carrying capacity.

Liberty's Edge

I'll go with a Fakir Chirurgeon(UM 18)/Transmuter.

Male Changeling Fighter 1, Monk 1, Rogue 1, Ranger 1, Actor 5

I'd like an Avari Cleric/Alchemist as my assistant. A sort of Medic/Squire type focused on crafting single use items and patching me up after fights.

Would you allow this item to boost the Brawler's abilities that replace Armor Training?

I'm pretty sure that the rules governing Archetypes and replacement abilities allow it, but I wanted to be sure.

Darkone The Drow: Okay I will get up stating your assistant. It is a medium wagon.

Ironic Hero: At the start you guys will not be out on missions more just exploring, or find out information. Also while you are out on missions npcs will try to get in contract with you. They will do this through your assistants. Pretty much what assistants do in real is what these will be doing for you all.

Same as DarkOne, will get working making your assistant.

Doomed Hero: Going to say yes, but if ability has a maximum you have to go by that maximum. So say the ability maxes out at level 12 and you are level 8 with the sash, the ability does not increase again at level 12.

Same on the assistant.

Male

I'm still figuring out the assistant. I'm kind of thinking about a Cleric/Wizard that tries to serve Gurzil through serving his idol. A man that possesses the strength he lacks.

Also, I was wondering if the Druk Hide inflicts its bleed damage upon one's opponent if he grapples them as well. As unfortunately bone is out of my access since Fafhrd lacks proficiency in heavy armor.

HP 35/35| AC 16 (T 16, FF 10) F +4 | R +5| W +8| Perception +9

I think I'm going to have to drop out, Darknlight. Facts are that I'm finding my time pretty short right now, and with a new baby around i am getting little sleep. I would like to be able to keep up with the games i am already involved with, and it likely just poor timing to add another now. Once things settle down and we get into a riutine around the home, i hope to have time enough to pick up another game. Keep me in mind if you need a replacement player down the road. I figure it better to make that decision now then after the game has started. Thanks for including me. Your world seems very interesting, and I regret I won't be able to learn more about it just yet.

See you in RotRL and CC!

M Human Warpriest HP 21/25 | AC 14 T 13 FF 13 | Ft +5 Rf +1 Wi +6 | Init +0 | Perc +5 | Fervor 1/4, Blessing 3/3, ACTIVE:

For my other item I'm going to take Gloves of Arrow Snaring.

Sheol, congratulations on your child. Sad you must leave. Now this is where private massages would be handy to get hold of one of the other two players to take Sheol's place.

It is cool Sheol, I still want to know how you did half the stuff with the baby.

Now we have a slight problem guys, you need a mage, Sheol was the only mage. Yes I know Iconic Hero has bard there but he is the go to skill guy. +19 to knowledge checks.

What is a Clockwork spy, unable to locate the item in source books.

Drat! I just also checked the applications. Sheol, is a full blood arcanist of both kinds.

Maybe advertise for a mage type character.

They are from bestiary 3, it is little robot spy that can record conversations.

My Bestery 3 has not arrived. Probably arrive here in a few months time. What is the weight of the Clockwork Spy?

Clockwork Spy

For any other questions, it says they weigh less than 40 pounds.

I thinking of taking the Efficient Quiver as one of Chuluun's wondrous items. I wondering if you would allow the shaft of the scythe to be placed into the quiver like spears and staffs, even if the blade sticks out at the top.

Also for the purpose of storing items, do you consider a light crossbow to be equivalent to a bow for shape to be stored in quiver?

Going to have to say no to the scythe.

Light crossbow is fine though.

Dragon bone weapons, deal addition 1d6 breath weapon type damage?

Yes. So Red Dragon Bone will do 1d6 fire damage.

I finished equipping character as instructed. No scrolls or potions bought as instructed.

On Chuluun's profile, I also included the wagon's total load. I will add the other members gear to the spreadsheet to get total wagon load.

Still need to add weapon stats to offence section.

DarkOne the Drow:
2,000 gp worth of items that your character may need.
Ex: Flask or bottles for alchemists, potions, scrolls.

You could of gotten scrolls and potions.

I took Ex as exclude. Will add some potions and scrolls.

That is what I use for example.

I practically done. I decide on the prepared spells once we know where the characters are and planned destination.

I might purchase more scrolls before the adventure starts.

I work on a more descriptive description just before adventure begins.

M Human Warpriest HP 21/25 | AC 14 T 13 FF 13 | Ft +5 Rf +1 Wi +6 | Init +0 | Perc +5 | Fervor 1/4, Blessing 3/3, ACTIVE:

I really have no idea what to spend Caine's money on. He doesn't need any gear (at least not right now), and I'd planned on having him start as a drunk in a bar that's recruited by someone who'd managed to recognize him (or something like that, up to you really)

He doesn't need the armor either. I'd planned on having him wear armor at some point, but I don't want him to do it until he manages to get his hands on the armor he used to wear when he was a symbol of the church. What should I do with the "free armor" for now?

As for the weapon, I guess I'll go with a longspear. I hadn't planned on him starting with anything though. What do you think of an early encounter where I can just take a special material longspear from an enemy?

All the gear is not yours, it will be given to you by Animus.
