Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
Perception (DC 15): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Hum... nice ring, looks like today is not lost at all...
Knowledge (local) (DC 10): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Knowledge (nobility) (DC 10): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Now that the fight is over, Ivaar looks at his companions.
"Well, this dead hit me hard... can yah lend me a help, please?"
While he Waits if someone will help him with his wounds, Ivaar continues to draw the place.
Ivaar is doing his mission (qadira).
Varuna Varghese |
Kn Local: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Varuna walks over to the body in the corner and inspects in. "Hmph, Grishan Maldris. Colson's brother."
When he's done, he readjusts his old cloak and heads into the darkness down the next hall.
Buck Swashler |
I don't believe any of us have Spellcraft, so we have no way of knowing what the ring can do :( I'll do the faction mission if my fellow Liberty's Edge party members want to.
Woah, the faction leader's brother?! Our orders were to remove any evidence of his work and retrieve a shield, but it didn't say anything about the body...
Buck turns to Lissa, "Should we do anything with this body? We can always bring it back with us later, or inform the Society of its location if we don't find it wise to do it ourselves."
After their conversation, Buck is ready to descend deeper into the drowned necropolis and hurries to catch up with the shadowy Varuna.
Jhon Doe |
I´ll try to do the faction mission with Buck, maybe they don´t count anymore, but some are fun to try.
Ivaar, this wand can take care of your wounds, but you should ask Lisa to use it on you.
By the way, nobody is going to say anything about a well preserved body even if had passed years after he died. Because it don´t looks normal to me. Not at all.
Wand of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Despit it weirdness, we shold bury the body. If I ever die in a forgotten place, I hope someone give me a proper burial Then he turns to Buck and whispers, And surely his family will want to recover the body later
Jhon will help to prepare the body for the burial or, if the place can´t be dug, will suggest to move the body outside when they finish their mission, to bury it in a better place.
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
"My arcane training has not progressed enough to determine what these objects do if anything." Hoshiko says to the others. "Shame this happened to someone so young." She says looking at the body.
Lissa Meadowlark |
"Thanks for offering your wand, Jhon. I'm happy to use it for you."
Lissa and Trill examine the body.
Shaking her head, "This is indeed strange. We should be on our guard and attentive."
Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
Ivaar feals the heal closing his wounds.
Arhg, it Always tickles...
"Thanks for the help lads!"
Hearing Buck and Jhon conversation, Ivaar continues.
"Hum, not sure if I would want my kin buried in a place like this... better to take the body to another place. Why don't we clear this place and take not only this, but all we found with us?"
Buck Swashler |
"Sounds like a plan to me!"
I believe we are ready when you are DM
Jhon Doe |
We can try Ivaar, but according to Drandle Drenge story here are dozens, or hundred, of dead bodies. I doubt we will be able to carry so many.
I´ll prefer to be buried until my family come back for me. Well, that´s is if my family ever knows of me being dead. But surely nobody ever will come back for my body. So, for me, better an anonymous tomb than rotting in a forgotten place.
Yes, we are ready
DM Snider |
sorry for delay
As you continue your exploration of the old necropolice, you find a bunch of small rooms and halls that have been puddling water on the ground and then you make your way to a main room
Water drips from the double-vaulted ceiling and trickles down the walls to pool on the floor. Bone shards of a hundred skulls litter the room like shattered seashells. Wide stairs climb to the west. Narrow stairs dive to the north. On the south wall, an open doorway gapes, a carved relief depicting a massive battle filling the archway over the door. The rest of the walls are filled floor to ceiling with nooks that house ancient, but drenched, skeletal remains. In the center of the room sit twelve school children in a circle on the floor. One child seems to be silently telling a story, her arms moving rapidly as she makes scary faces.
They look like the kids upstairs except that they are not in sync.
also give me perception checks
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
"What an eerie place. Needs a cleansing it seems." Hoshiko comments as she looks around with sword drawn.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Buck Swashler |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
"This place gives me the creeps... Does it seem natural to you all that there are bones all over the place like this? It seems almost intentional to me..."
A shiver runs up Buck's spine at the thought of somebody harvesting and processing all the bones it would take to cover the floor of this room.
Please no..
Buck's stomach drops as he catches sight of the children in the middle of the room.
I don't know what would be worse, that these children are perhaps like the ones above or that they may be the cause of all these shattered bones...
Varuna Varghese |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
"Children harmless before. Probably harmless again. Just shadows of this place."
DM Snider |
i should have frazed it better not the same children same motions and types of movement.
Lissa Meadowlark |
"We should go ask them what they are doing."
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Trill Perc.: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Ivaar, the Rolling Stone |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Hum... go ahead and ask 'hem Lissa! I woul', bu' it seams I am too rude, right? Ivaar smiles and continues to make a sketch about the building.
Buck Swashler |
"I suppose it would be a good idea. If they have been down here a while, they might be able to tell us about what else is down here!"
DM Snider |
perception Jhon: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
The girl in the center of the room stops and looks at you "Hello. Would you like to hear our scarry story?" As she starts to tell you her story a pack of creatures manage to sneak behind most of the party
Roll Int and surprise round
BG Int: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Surprise round for those who made 15 or higher on the perception check.
for now no map as there was a surprise round. the creatures will base party. there are 3
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
i forgot to roll a perception check so go ahead and assume Hoshiko was too eerie'd out by the scene to react properly for the surprise round
DM Snider |
You rolled one lol right after room description lol still failed though lol
Varuna Varghese |
Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
And what's the Know roll to identify?
Jhon Doe |
Not sure what "the creatures will base party" means. Nothing good for us, I suppose
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Jhon will move to pierce one of the creatures, hoping some of his companions will follow him. What dares to ambush us
Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 281d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Critical confirme: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 101d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Also, I´m asuming nobody identify them and told Jhon they´re inoffensive
DM Snider |
i am in field again for next two days and cant update map so i am trying to do combat with out it... If party would prefer to wait i can wait.... So surprise round everyone only gets a single move or atk. All the creatures based friendlies as their move. Also noone has rolled to idententify but its knowledge religion for this
Jhon Doe |
Inj a surprise roun a charge can be made. Which is what I was thinking about. But I realized I said nothing about it, not even use the modifiers. May I continue with the action, but considering it a charge? (Don´t know if I can charge) If not, ready an action to attack the first creature wich comes near
Lissa Meadowlark |
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
it's a lot easier when you roll block initiative, GM. That's why its up at the top!
Lissa moves forward to cover Jhon with her reach weapon.
"Jhon! Stay back, you creatures. What business have you sulking around?"
Trill, Lissa's Familiar |
"Guidance!"
AoO: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Diplo: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Know(religion): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
DM Snider |
Jhon you fine if you want the charge. I can wait to start the combat till Wed and put it on the map also.
Buck Swashler |
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Also fine with waiting
DM Snider |

Bold is up and Blue can not act in surprise round. Jhon if you want to use that roll on round 1 you can or you can save it and let creature base you. I also moved everyone into the room as everyone was listing to the girl. Map is updated.
"Devil's Advocate" |
I was just checking in to see how everything was going, and holycrap! I just saw wha. . .
I mean, um,. . . yah, everything is fine. Nothing to worry about in this deep, dark dungeon filled with perfectly nice, sane, and not-mean little ghost girls.
Varuna Varghese |
Varuna moves to the opening of one of the passages and waits for the creature to approach, ready to defend if necessary.
Parry: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Riposte: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 271d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 141d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Jhon Doe |
I´ll take the roll for my ready action, if posible
Seeing they´re being surrounded, Jhon makes a 5steep to protect Hoskiko and readies his rapier to stab the creature when it moves near.
Want to die? Come here
Lissa Meadowlark |
Lissa readies an attack against the creature nearest to her.
her glaive is a reach weapon and she will take an AoO if it moves up to her
atk: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 = 18
dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"I don't want to hurt you! Come out peacefully"
Trill, Lissa's Familiar |
"Guidance!"
Knowledge(religion): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Buck Swashler |
Buck readies to stab at a creature that approaches Lissa and him
Attack;Damage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 101d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 My dice hate me :'(
Hoshiko Masaru Kodo |
Hoshiko stands next to Jhon ready to aid his attack whenever the foe comes in range...
Aid Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 4 = 18
DM Snider |
Buck and Hoshiko its surprise round
Trill knows that these creatures are ghouls. 1 question with them
One of the creatures comes up to Jhon and Jhon swings hard and does some dmg to it. creature 2 moves up to Lissa and dodges the AoO. The third Ghoul moves up to Varuna and Varuna Cuts its head clean off.

Bold may Act
Buck Swashler |
Sorry, that was just for when I go next. You guys normally post when I can't, so I was just throwing it out there so you could keep it moving! If you don't like it, I won't do it, no problem!
Varuna Varghese |
After easily dispatching the ghoul that approached him, Varuna moves next to John to assist him.
Aid Attack: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 4 = 9
Jhon Doe |
Rapier attack, aided: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 131d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
bite: 1d20 + 3 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 3 - 5 = 171d4 ⇒ 2
Remembering when he was almost killed by a similar creature Jhon attacks the creature with all he have, rapier and teeth. Trying to avoid any attack killing it beforehand.
DM Snider |
you were good buck, it was more of an fyi thing. When you are using the aid another action you dont take the neg to attack for cover. You make a standard attack roll against AC 10. Your not actually attacking the target. You just have to be able to attack the target, so both aids on the attack will let the attack hit.
BG number 1 goes down as Jhon stabs the creature in the forhead before taking a bite out of its neck.
1 target left
Jhon Doe |
I couldn´t have done it without the help of you both. Acknowledge Jhon to his friends, then he spits on the ground. But I hope bitting was not necesary, it don´t tastes good.
