Torch attacks his opponent, eyeing the Shiv dragon behind him with concern. Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9. On the off-chance that that drops the cannibal, he steps past the body toward the dragon, to about R19.

Aerys once more tries to use her strength to bring the cannibal down, but as she leans forward to strike with her longsword, she seems to loose a little accuracy.

Hrakar moves to M27 and sends an acid bolt hurling towards the cannibal in I23

Ralf hobbles forward to Q25 and uses Alignment Shield on Torch.

Gelik side-steps (to N28) muttering and swearing under his breath when he sees the new opponents.

"I think it might be time to consider an orderly retreat! We're about to get pinned down here!" He then adds, "And I'm about to blast these new guys, so don't get in the way unless you like being knocked out!

Gelik readies his standard action, waiting for the new cannibals to come in range of his Color Spray (15'). When they do, he'll blast them, DC 16.

Torch and Aerys both hit but the cannibals are still fighting on with grim determination. Hrakar's bolt goes wide, while Ralf shields Torch against evil foes. Gelik knocks one of the cannibals out as they approach, but the other reaches him, getting close enough for him to feel her rancid breath.

Then the door opens and an old woman appears in the doorway, cursing Ralf in her foul language. Will 17 negates. At the same time a badger that seems to be made out of earth bursts out of the ground and bites Hrakar for 6 points of damage.

The cannibals fight on, but can't manage to land a blow. The lizard, which ignores the cannibals, advances and bites Torch for 12 points. He manages to wriggle out of its grasp though.

"Eh? Speak up, you daft old woman!" Ralf berates the crone.

Is that another lizard coming toward us? Ooooooh man.

Torch shifts to a defensive posture, hoping to rely on Ralf's protective magic as he deals instead with the Shiv dragon that just tried to bite him. Fighting defensively as I attack the lizard: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10. If I can 5 ft step into difficult terrain, I'll do so, shifting to P21. AC is currently 18, or 20 vs evil creatures.

Also, I'm at 5 hit points. Those dragons hurt.

"Ouch! How dare you, unholy thing!"

Gelik takes a 5' hopping step directly back away from the savage (to O 28), calling out at the foul woman, "Offensive! In many ways!" He makes semantic gestures and murmurs a few arcane words, blasting another cone of clashing colors.

Also, Torch, I only see one lizard on the map. Can't take one wimpy lizard?

The second lizard was an editing error.

Ralf is cursed with misfortune, but he is still able to act. Gelik deftly avoids the cannibal's swing (difficult terrain so no 5' step). Hrakar strikes the earthen monster, but it proves resilient. Torch steps away from his foe while Aerys misses.

Ralf then, and then the monsters.

Ralf sends some healing towards Torch.

Gelik brings his opponent down as Ralf heals Torch.

The lizard turns its attention to Aerys and delivers a vicious bite for 19 points of damage. She manages with difficulty to wriggle free. The cannibals are not so lucky though and their clumsy swings miss.

The old crone cackles and tries to instill fear in Ralf Will 17 negates but he needs to save twice due to misfortune. The elemental bites Hrakar for 6 points of damage.

Gelik scurries away from the downed savage. "Retreat!"

Aerys screams in pain as the lizard's teeth and claws rip through her flesh, as she moves away from the point of combat, watching the lizard and cannibal as she steps away. "Someone heal me!! Run! we can't hold them back!" she calls as she runs.

Aerys withdraws into the undergrowth moving as far away as possible to N,28 (I think that's possible).

Torch maintains his defensive stance as he tries to put down his cannibalistic foe. Attacking defensively again: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10. Crit confirm: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9. If that dropped the cannibal (and I suspect it did), Torch will step forward into that space to threaten the lizard.

Fear overtakes Hrakar, Ralf and Aerys. Hrakar tries to put his shield between him and the monster, while Aerys retreats. Torch cuts down the cannibal and turns to face the lizard, while Gelik tries to attack the crone.

The elemental punches through Hrakar's defenses and bites him for 8 points of damage. The lizard snaps at Torch but he easily evades, while the cannibal goes after Ralf, who manages to avoid his swing.

The witch cackles and curses Gelik with misfortune Will 17 negates.

Moves up to protect the dwarf and slashes at the elemental. "Get behind me Hrakar and do you best to heal me." she shouts at the cleric.

"What does it mean "Fear overtakes Hrakar, Ralf and Aerys"? I thought the spell only affected Ralf. If we also were targetted shouldn't we get a will save? Anyway:

Dammit, we need to shut that witch down, but until I get this bloody lizard dealt with...

Torch's face is set in a mask of grim determination as he slashes with the scimitar. Dropping out of the defensive stance, attacking the Shiv dragon normally instead. (Here's hoping that decision doesn't get me killed...) Scimitar attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11.

The witch isn't our most pressing problem. She didn't do much besides cursing Ralf. The problem is we are not landing any blow! Btw I'll retcon my previous move

Hrakar withdraws to N27, next turn he'll try to cure Aerys.

Ralf runs away, while Torch faces the lizard and Aerys the elemental. Hrakar backs off and prepares to cast a spell, while Gelik manages to hit the witch who is more annoyed than hurt. Ralf runs off screaming.

The cannibal turns on Gelik but misses, and so does the lizard. The elemental hits Aerys for 10 points of damage, though. The witch glares at Gelik, trying to make him lose his focus. Evil eye on AC, Will 17 resists.

Hps on Aerys? I'll heal her anyway but do I need to reroll?

Torch continues to dodge and weave, hoping to catch the lizard before the lizard's vicious teeth catch him. Another scimitar attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9. If that happens to drop the lizard, torch will take a full move toward the witch.

Gelik backs quickly away from his new savage opponent, pulling his wand from his belt as he retreats toward Hrakar (O27). He triggers the wand, creating 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 mirror images of himself, then gives the cannibal multiple raspberries. "Ppllppfff!"

Yes, I realize I'm drawing an AoO, but it can't be helped.

Aerys falls to the ground, blood streaming from her various wounds, which seems to slow as she lays there motionless.

Hrakar heals Aerys:

Heal light wounds:1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Torch deals the lizard a telling blow, Gelik avoids the cannibal's attention as he joins Hrakar, who heals Aerys back to consciousness.

Aerys can act, but she's prone and has dropped her weapon. Then the bad guys get to go.

Aerys stays on the floor, feigning unconsciousness as she is threatened by the elemental.

Aerys is pretty much down if she tries to get up, so she'll stay down for now.

How long is Ralf afeared for?

The witch shouts some kind of command to the elemental, but it ignores it and moves on to the next target, which happens to be Gelik, and destroys one of the images. The cannibal pursues and destroys yet another image. The lizard snaps stupidly at Torch's scimitar while the witch cackles and tries to put the evil eye on Torch's AC.

Ralf is afeared for 3 rounds.

How long before that elemental (not a single missed attack...) goes back from where he comes from?

Hoping the magic sustaining the summoned elemental will soon fade Hrakar releases a wave of positive energy to heal his friends nearby

Ralf keeps on hobbling until the scary witch is out of sight.

Aerys stays still on the ground as the healing wafts over her, unable to move away as the elemental remains close by.

Feeling entirely put-upon, Gelik realizes that his only chance is to start stabbing like some sort of primitive. (Everything else I can think of will draw a barrage of AoOs.) "Little help here!"

The elemental should last for CL rounds, unless she's got tricks to extend that - she's probably CL 3rd or 4th and this is round 3, so it's got to be just about done.

Torch feels the witch's magic wash over him, but ignores it for the moment, since it does not seem to have slowed his attacks. He swings again at the lizard, hoping to finally put the beast down. Scimitar attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, damage 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7. Again, if that drops the liard, Torch makes a beeline for the witch.

The elemental attacked 5 times already, which means 5 turns, 3 attacks on Hrakar, 1 on Aerys, 1 on Gelik's mirror image. All were on target. Caused 20 hp of dmg on Hrakar, 10 on Aerys and of course killed the mirror image...

Oops, my bad. Like Torch, I lost track of rounds. It should only last 4 rounds. So let's just assume that Aerys spent the last round recovering her weapon and standing up. And Gelik's image should still be there.

The elemental crumbles back into earth. Torch deals the lizard another severe slash, and it decides that this is definitely not worth it. Gelik tries desperately to fight back.

Aerys to go and Hrakar might want to change his action.

Aerys moves to the cannibals attacking Gelik and attacks with her longsword. "Hrakar, more healing or this will prove my last."

Hrakar moves near Aerys and converts another spell into healing Hrakar converted Protection from evil and now Bane

Aerys cuts down the last cannibal, and the lizard has had enough and decides to go for an easier meal elsewhere, leaving the witch alone.

Desperate and adding insult to injury she sics her monkey on Hrakar, which bites him for 1 point of damage, while she casts Hideous Laughter on Aerys Will 17 negates and draws a wand.
