Female Halfling Bard 1
Roylenna Brenoien wrote:

Does Tika's inspire courage bonus affect the Will save?

I suggest that Lyria readies her mace and shield for a first round action.

It gives a +2 bonus against charm or fear affects

Will save +4 if sonic or sound based +2 if charm +4 if fear

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Yeah, it was a question for BT because I don't know if falls under either of those categories. And while I'm here, I did fail to actually attempt the roll, so here goes (+2 vs charm, +4 vs fear)

Will save 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Female Human Barbarian 7

Not even flinching at the nip from the jackal-man Ka'kara focuses her hasted fury completely on the demon.

Hasted raging power attack with flank and inspire courage:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (5, 5) + 21 = 31

Normal raging power attack with flank and inspire courage attack #1:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (3, 6) + 21 = 30

Normal raging power attack with flank and inspire courage attack #2:1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
Damage: 2d6 + 21 ⇒ (4, 3) + 21 = 28

Wow, that is some terrible rolling...she is averting her eyes only because she is completely focused on the demon.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Tika's singing does not help with the gaze attacks.

Gregori, Lyria and Kem Het delay, while Artival puts some hurt on one of the jackalmen. One of them hits Ka'kara for 7 points of damage, while the demon hits Gregori for 28. The slowed jackalweres move to interpose themselves between you and the demon.

And you are up.

Female Halfling Bard 1

Tika continues to inspire while jabbing a Jackalwere with her longspear

Attack

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Damage

1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Ka'kara doubles in size on Roylenna's turn. I will have to get to a system where I can view the map before I can give my action for this round.

AC 17, (18) / HP 35/35

Kem Het ingests his Physical Mutagen, and closes to combat with his newly slivered spear.

Artival casts blindness on the jackal man at I 20, trying to help out their newcomer in the battle

DC 17 Will save.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Roylenna moved to I17 last round, behind Artival.

The halfling sorceress casts another spell, sending a beam of sickly green light toward the jackalwere facing Lyria.

Ray of Enfeeblement against H20; touch attack, Fort DC 15 halves STR penalty

Touch Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
STR Penalty: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Does PBS increase the penalty here, too? I did not include it.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Fully transformed into a engine of destruction in the form of a giantess Ka'kara continues to help Gregori take down his demonic adversary.

Enlarged hasted raging power attack with flank and inspire courage:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27

Black Tom:

With a roar of divine fury Gregori erupts into blazing violence, shimmering blade slicing deep into the demon's foul flesh as he seeks to send the foul outsider back to the pits of hell.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

A wee notice:
By the way, I will be taking a week in one of my favorite places - somewhere new - and am unsure of my posting availability. I expect to be back to normal availability on the 16th. I'm sure you note that I did not say back to normal - I'm not really there now!

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

The jackalwere resists Artival's magic. Ka'kara's fearsome blows bring down the demon, but in a flash another demon appears in its place.

Ka'kara:

Spoiler:
A surge of force sucks you forward into the demon's square, and suddenly you seem to have taken the form of a demon and be fighting yourself. Your cries are masked by the sound of combat, so please post your actions in a spoiler. I would appreciate if you could post a fake post of you fighting the demon. It's worth a hero point too.

Tika:

Spoiler:
Something is vaguely wrong here, and as you concentrate you realize that this is all an elaborate illusion. The demon is actually Ka'kara, the Ka'kara and Gregori you see iare an illusion and Gregori is lying dead on the floor. The jackalweres are real, though.

None of the jackalweres manage to hurt you. You are up.

Female Human Barbarian 7

With a simple feral grin the barbarianess continues to cleave into the demons appearing in front of her with battle-lust born fervor.

Hasted raging power attack with flank and inspire courage: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (1, 2, 4) + 22 = 29

Normal raging power attack with flank and inspire courage attack #1:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (6, 1, 1) + 22 = 30

Normal raging power attack with flank and inspire courage attack #2:1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (2, 2, 2) + 22 = 28

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Er, anyone there?

AC 17, (18) / HP 35/35

Kem Het moves to G-22, and stabs one of the Jacklewares.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 Silvered, +1, Longspear Attack, Hasted, Inspired

1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Spear Damage

Female Halfling Bard 1

Tika drops the inspire To yell a warning "Guys There is an Illusion the Demon is Ka'kara Gregori is dead and the Demon we can see is the real Kakara."

She then renews inspiring

sorry bout the lack of posting dot seems to have vanished again

The demon is Ka Kara? Tika better be right about this, or Ka Kara is going to kill me...

With the warning from Tika, Artival fires a magic missle toward what looks like his barbarian friend.

Damage 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 4) + 3 = 11

32/42 HP

Confused, and even more so by Tika's warning, Lyria decides to try to discern what exactly is going on around her by Channeling Energy. She lifts her holy symbol and begins to channel positive energy to harm the real demon.

Channel Energy (Alignment) - should cause damage against outsiders: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1) = 10 damage, and hopefully any real outsiders should burn visibly.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Blacktom:
YIKES! Are you sure I hit him enough to kill him? I am assuming that he was the demon before me, right? His AC was 26 (got +1 from haste) and my to hit rolls should have been 2 lower since flank wasn't helping me apparently (illusions can't help flank). I may have only ended up hitting him once if all that is true. Anyway, just throwing that out there to double-check.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Going away for a conference for a few days. Expecting limited access. Just want to clear up that according to what Tika sees, there simply is no demon, just Ka'kara. Will try to handle the rest as I get back.

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Ka'kara:

What I think happened is that the demon pulled off a 2 parter. First teleporting me to where he was standing then using 2 illlusions, one made him look like me, the other made me look like him. So while it looked like you and I flanked the demon, it was actually you and the demon flanking me. Ad yeah, the last round alone did 100pts damage to me. As much as I hate to say it, I'm dead."

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Kem stabs a jackalwere and Lyria's channel actually burns some kind of fiend. It's hard to say what other than that it's medium-sized and invisible, but you get a hunch of its location.

The jackalweres don't manage to hurt you this time either. You're up.

Ka'kara:

Spoiler:
Unfortunately Gregori is right, and Artival's Slow negated the Haste.

Female Halfling Bard 1

Tika continues inspiring and if she can get close to the real Ka'kara without trigering any AoO she will cast Heroism on her.

BT, what happened to the Magic Missle I shot at what might or might be KaKara?

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Did Roylenna's ray affect her jackalwere target?

Female Human Barbarian 7

::sigh:: The most dangerous things in the dungeons are always your own friends...sorry Gregori.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Artival: The spell failed, as there is nothing there.
Roylenna: It did, but it made its save.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

"The jackals are really jackals, right? And really there?"

Scorching Ray: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 Including PBS
Fire Damage: 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 4, 4, 4) + 1 = 14

Female Human Barbarian 7

BT:
Um, so can the real Ka'kara do anything at all? Is the real demon close enough to strike?

The giant form of Ka'kara continues to battle the the demon in front of her completely unfazed and unscorched by Artival's magics.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Ka'kara:

Spoiler:
Yes and yes. You are free to act. The demon is still invisible, though, so there is a 50% miss chance.

Artival am confused.

Artival, seeing the others holding off the jackal men casts See a invisibility, hoping he can figure out what is happening with Ka Kara and Gregori.

Female Human Barbarian 7

BT:
Hasted raging power attack with inspire courage: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (5, 4, 2) + 22 = 33
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 23

Normal raging power attack with inspire courage attack #2:1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) + 22 = 31
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 28

Well, misses all three times.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Since you get Will saves to pierce the illusions, I changed the battlemap to reflect what's actually there. The fiend is still invisible, but Artival sees a tiger-headed humanoid with a very evil smirk.

Roylenna takes out another jackalwere. The evil illusionist casts Confusion on you (Will 21 to act normally) while the jackalweres cut Ka'kara for 7 points of damage.

You are up.

AC 17, (18) / HP 35/35

Sorry guys...my dot disappeared. I just checked randomly and there we were.

Kem resumes his attack on his chosen foe, hoping to clear out the doorway.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Will save

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 +1 Silvered spear, Inspired, Mutagen
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 Damage

...or not

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara's grin falters as the new demon seems to be able to fend off most of her attacks and she begins to tire.

BT:
Continuing in her effort to hit the demon next to her...

Hasted raging power attack with inspire courage: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (6, 6, 2) + 22 = 36
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 71

Normal raging power attack with inspire courage attack #1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 22 = 34
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 77

Normal raging power attack with inspire courage attack #2: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (2, 4, 3) + 22 = 31
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 75

Well, got through the invisibility this time.

Not sure if she is in the confusion effect but if so will save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

The spell is not necessary, Roylenna and I are already confused. ;-) Well played. Is this Confusion on everyone in the party or only one of us? Assuming your 'you' referred to the whole party...

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20

OOH SO CLOSE!!!

Confusion effect: 1d100 ⇒ 41

Roylenna slaps her tiny hands over her eyes, shaking her head violently and spouting out streams of nonsense in several languages.

Female Halfling Bard 1

Will save

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Effect

1d100 ⇒ 45

Will save, if necessary 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Confusion effect 1d100 ⇒ 81

Who is the closest creature, DM? They are being attacked by Artival.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Artival will be attacking Kem. Ka'kara is not included in the confusion, but the rest of you are.

Despite being invisible and well-nigh invulnerable, the monster takes two solid hits from Ka'kara, which disrupts the illusion. The fiend is still invisible though, and only Artival can see it.

Lyria to go, then the fiend.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Lyria makes her save but delays. Artival backs away and fires his magic missiles at Kem for 9 points of damage. A jackalwere hits Ka'kara for 10 points of damage and the demon teleports away, noone knows where (except Artival).

You can roll to see what you'll be doing this round, except that Kem will be going after Artival. You're up.

Confusion 1d100 ⇒ 71

After missling Kem, Artival takes the opportunity to crack himself in the face two or three times.

Damage 1d8 ⇒ 4

Female Halfling Bard 1

Confusion

1d100 ⇒ 19

Female Halfling Bard 1

Tika stops babbling and begins to inspire only affecting those she is certain arent confused.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 83

BT, I'll let you decide who and how I attack.

Female Human Barbarian 7

BT:
Since the demon is nowhere to be found anymore she will turn her attention to the Jackalmen. I'll leave the description of the illusionary demon splattering the jackalmen to you :) Oh, and is she stuck where she is or can she move? She drops out of rage after these attacks and becomes fatigued. Still can attack but is tired.

Hasted raging power attack with inspire courage: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 3, 2) + 22 = 30

Normal raging power attack with inspire courage attack #1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 2, 6) + 22 = 33

Normal raging power attack with inspire courage attack #2: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
Damage: 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) + 22 = 31

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

The demon dropped the illusions, so Ka'kara is both visible and free to act normally.

Roylenna tries to hit Lyria with a Shocking Grasp, but her concentration is disrupted as Lyria gently pushes her aside. Ka'kara slays the three jackalweres in the room.

Kem Het, Artival and Lyria still to go.

I already went this round, DM. I punched myself in the face, lol.

AC 17, (18) / HP 35/35

"I knew I shouldn't have trusted this group". "Traitors". "I was better off with the Ogres".

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 +1 Silvered, Inspired, Mutagen

1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Damage

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

OK, in order to avoid a TPK I'm posting for Lyria.

Lyria releases another burst of holy energy, burning the demon for 11 points of damage and making it temporarily visible. As indicated on the battle map.

The demon retaliates with a Scorching Ray. All three rays hit her for 38 points of damage, bringing her down.

You are up. Artival and Kem are committed to fighting each other, but the rest of you need to roll again.
