Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Looks nice. I'll get you into the game as soon as I have an opportunity.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Hey guys, I've been remiss in posting lately (May has been very hectic with work and studies starting a new relationship). Also I must admit that I awarded priority to my other games that are moving a bit faster.

I still like this game though and have no intention of dropping it, but the irregular posting is a bit difficult to handle when we get into a major battle. So what I propose is a reduced post rate. I can promise to update three times a week (Mon, Wen, Fri). That's about the rate we have been going lately and it would level the playing field for all of us. What say you?

Also you more or less cleared the level, so you'll have to decide whether you want to press on or go back to camp to rest and recuperate and possibly level up before you go further down. Either is fine with me. See you in a week.

M Aasimar Paladin (Warrior of the Holy Light ) 5

Hell this is starting to look like a TPK

Rappan Athuk does that to parties sometimes, lol.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

The fight is about to end, and I think we need a break from Rappan Athuk (I know I do). My suggestion is that the next adventure will be how to raise Gregori (which I guess you'll want to do but can hardly afford). Mark/Gregori will make a character for that and I'll credit Gregori with any xp s/he earns.

Is everybody still on board? Sorry about being a bit remiss lately. Will try to get better.

I'm still here...

Female Halfling Bard 1

Still going

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Will have that char up in a day or two.

32/42 HP

I'm here as well (hopefully without having to make another character as well)

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Oh, yes, I'm still here. I'm ready to get away from Rappan Athuk - it hasn't been doing much for me even before this battle.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Yeah, it didn't really work, did it. Let's hope the next adventure is a bit more fun. I do own some more Necromancer Games stuff that I hope will work a little better.

I have Slumbering Tsar too, but I can't really see it working, so I'll leave that alone for now.

Right now I'm sending you on a side quest from Raise the Dead and then I think I'll go for Aberrations.

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

I'm creating an Oracle of Flame, should be able to put her up tomorrow.

Ooo, I like oracles of flame. Can't wait to see the character...

Too bad this campaign didn't work, but in my experience it's tough to do a dungeon crawl in a play-by-post game.

Female Human Barbarian 7

I am good with whatever we decide to do next. It seems we start all sorts of adventures but cannot seem to finish any of them (I'm ok with this as Ka'kara is quite chaotic and goes wherever the wind blows). I'm not sure whether this is because of anyone in particulars short attention span or because Necromancer games just doesn't put a lot of depth in their adventures. The dungeon crawl with no real ecology supporting it inside or out is really reminiscent of very old school first edition stuff. Simple yes but not necessarily gripping in nature. I, however, have always thought of this as my "hack-n-slash" game :) All the above are just observations and not complaints.

P.S. LOL, Roylenna and I ended up a mere 62 xp from 7th level ;p Need to go find a dire rat or two to kill.

Oh wait! How much xp was Gregori worth? <grin>

32/42 HP

I am also good with whatever we're going to next, although not being as negative towards Rappan Athuk. Obviously raising Gregori (if this didn't happen yet fast forwarding in the campaign thread) should be our first priority.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

For the record, you did finish the Grey Citadel. And Roylenna and Ka'kara can borrow the needed xp so go ahead and level up. You deserved it. :)

RPG Superstar 2009 Top 16

Do I create the new character at 5 or 6? Gregori was just short of 6 before the battle when he fell.

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

If Gregori would advance with the posthumous xp, you start at 6.

Perfect will be up later today.

Spending hero points for a second hp roll

Hit Points: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Hit Points: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Female Human Oracle of Flame 6

Hp rolls Max level 1
level 2 1d8 ⇒ 7
level 3 1d8 ⇒ 2
level 4 1d8 ⇒ 2
level 5 1d8 ⇒ 1
level 6 1d8 ⇒ 6

I hereby present Lasair

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Nice. Welcome!

I should re-think my new 3rd level spell or do you think it good if two of us are throwing out fireballs? I'm open to coordinated BBQs of enemies.

Female Human Oracle of Flame 6

That works, for me its a Mystery spell so not much I can change about it. Carpet bombing with Fireball can be good, also allows to cover a pretty goood area. Besides, making 2 saves for half damage, even on a good day that can kill you.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

I still need to determine a feat and a second-level spell, but otherwise, I think she's good.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara is leveled up.

Hitpoints: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Only had one hero point available and that was from that last demon battle, so not enough for a reroll this time around but I wanted to roll it anyway just to see :P
Hitpoints: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

If BT will allow it, you can have my last two, sister.

I decided that with all of our spontaneous casters, it would be better to diversify. I took Flaming Sphere at 2nd and Dispel Magic at 3rd. And Elemental Spell (Acid) will add to my diversification options because I can change that Flaming Sphere or Scorching Ray to a caustic version instead.

Female Human Oracle of Flame 6

Nice, even the visual oof being engulfed by a sphere of acid is pretty hard core.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

I like the idea of a spell that lasts several rounds and can be redirected over its lifetime. And the update from 2d6 to 3d6 is just gravy. It's not a 7d6 fireball, but it's potentially 21d6 if the fight lasts that long. I just love it.

Besides, I'm guessing you will have fire damage covered - so I wanted to cover other bases. Did you consider the "Burning Spell" revelation or whatever it's called? I like the idea - continuing damage, just because it's a fire spell? You bet!

Dark Archive

Just to let everyone know I'm on holiday for 2 weeks and my internet is not as good as I thought it would be so Please DMPC my character if I stop posting for a bit

Male Human (mostly) Mystic Theurge

Just need a couple of days to try to get the campaign back on track. Will post something when I have figured it out, hopefully in the coming week.

Female Human Oracle of Flame 6

Will post when I get home tonight.

And if Artival lives to next level, I'll get lightning Bolt as a bloodline spell, further diversifying the types of damage we can deal.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

Ah, forgot about that, good point. What's this if stuff?

Female Human Oracle of Flame 6

Hey all, having a difficult time finding n entry point here. So far it seems no one has even noticed Lasair's presence.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

You could just pipe up - "I would aid you in your mission. After seeing what these monsters did to these poor people, I would like to bring some cleansing flame to them." Or something appropriate for Lasair's personality.

You are right, though - Roylenna has not noticed that you have joined us yet...

Female Human Barbarian 7

Sorry, I am treating Ka'kara as a bit preoccupied at the moment and it seems as if you were a traveler not wanting to become involved. She also doesn't want to expose anyone else to her lethal presence (in her mind). Perhaps approaching or having the Father introduce you. Of course, I am also sure that Tika's curiosity will get the better of her once her player returns.

AC 17, (18) / HP 35/35

I'm not sure where Kem stands in the experience point parade. Since he was made at higher level. I know we just picked up 571 xp, but not sure how much more he has earned nor where he started.
