Since my tabletop game just went bellyup I thought I may have room for another PBP, and I've had my eyes on Castle Whiterock a while now.
This will be an old-fashioned dungeon crawl. I'm better at keeping the action flowing than providing a living environment anyway. Check out my other games to see what my style is like.
I'm looking for five players. I will grant two spots to the two first to present me with characters, and two spots to old friends (meaning anyone that has gamed with me and liked it). Since this is set in my old campaign world (The Wilderlands) retired characters from my other games are especially welcome and may keep their xp and gear. The fifth spot will be picked arbitrarily.
Character creation will be using 20 point buy, standard wealth, no traits. All Paizo books are fair game but no samurai, ninja or gunslingers. I use the Golarion gods. Standard races (there are some odd flavors of human in the setting but that is marginal).
Posting will be expected once a day on weekdays. If you don't post within 24 hours (excepting weekends) you will be considered delaying. More frequent posting is of course welcome.
I don't keep track of initiative after the first round, so you can post in any order. I also use a variant of hero points, but we'll get to that.
Hey BT! I'd love to get in on another one of your games if possible. I'm thinking a human sorcerer - not sure of the bloodline yet. I can have a character together this evening.
I'd love to do Castle Whiterock! This is a rogue I made for a Serpent's Skull game that died; his character sheet needs a bit of adjusting and a new background, but otherwise is good to go! I'm heading out for work pretty soon, or I would've adjusted those prior to posting.
I'm a long time player, but new to the online campaign style of play (just to give you the heads up). If it is alright with you, would you consider a Human Druid with the Dual Talent alternate racial trait? Everything else would be standard, and I am leaning towards the earth domain Nature Bond.
Guys, I may have as much as two spots left, but I'd prefer to wait a couple of days to see if any other old friends decide to pop in. At worst you are first alternates if someone bails.
It would be easier to pick characters if you stat them out a bit. Dual Talent is fine.
I hope to give a definite answer after the weekend.
Would like to propose this character, perhaps in place of ALaric Morgain - Alaric is up for possible inclusion in another campaign. Presenting Torr Dextrano, barbarian (hurler), with intention of going to alchemist class at 2nd lvl.
So this is what I have so far. Thought it might be fun to be an Oracle that functions like a Cleric, but have all my abilities on Cha rather than Cha for channel and Wis for spells. Philander the Oracle
Please let me know if you are withdrawing Alaric Morgain. I'll post the final party on Sunday. There may be room for an alternate party too if I get enough applicants. My experience is that a lot of players drop off early, so you may very well get in eventually.
Well, if I withdraw Alaric, does that put me off the list of the first two to propose characters? If it does put me down on the list, I'll consider keeping Alaric in the mix and maybe cloning him, but I'd rather play a different character.
Torr is fine and you can keep your spot, but please edit him a bit to show what he'll look like at 1st level. Summoner is fine, and I'll get back to you on Sunday night.
Yeah, but we kind of have two hard hitters as is. But I'd welcome some alternates and I'll even try to put together an alternate party because people tend to drop off in the beginning of these things.
Just as a final note, I would like to state that I have written a background story, and developed a character in my aliases. If you would like to view more info about the character I have developed, it can be found there.
This is Feres' draconic bloodline sorcerer, Tyros Aurelius. I had planned for him to be human, but it worked out better to be half-elf. Planning to multi-class with paladin and eventually go dragon disciple if he lives long enough.
OK, we have a party consisting of Torr, Jim Strongarm, Tyros, Eider Da'mok and Philander. Please post in the discussion thread (dotting if nothing else) while we get you fitted out for the adventure.
Zababa, Vonzara and Edeldhur: if you can finalize your characters and find a fourth player you are welcome to form an alternate party. Otherwise just hang around and you are the first alternates in case someone drops out. Thank you for your interest.
Vonzara: Just remembered that a Summoner might run into trouble in Whiterock, since summoning doesn't work normally there. Celestial and Fiendish creatures just fail to appear. Summon Nature's Ally and Eidolons will work, though.
Yes, you are welcome to post in the discussion thread. It would be nice for you to have a connection to the others. It's still entirely possible that you may end up in the party, and if I get four alternates we can run a side quest for you.
I would be interested in joining. I have a Half-Elf Monk level 1 check my profile. I am a newbie. I just completed my first session the other day. It was so much fun, I'd like to play Betoruga some more.
I'd like to throw my hat into the ring as a fourth member of the "backup" group.
I just need to finish the non-crunchy bits (background, personality) but should have those done by tomorrow evening at the latest.
Note: I have elected NOT to have a patron deity and just follow an abstract ideal. I chose Protection and Healing as my domains. If this is a problem, please let me know.
Thank you for that. A godless cleric works fine actually. If you can just get four characters together we're good to go. Feel free to dot the discussion thread when you are done. It won't hurt if you have connections to the other party or each other.
Betoruga, take a look at my character profile or better yet one of my other characters like Hermann who's even more detailed. That's what I mean by "crunch" and "complete". You should be able to fairly easily determine any modifiers for any action you can take, and understand any and all of your class abilities and selected feats.
Also, you have 3 more points you can spend to bump something up:
Str 14 (5 points)
Dex 14 (5 points)
Con 11 (1 point)
Int 13 (3 points)
Wis 14+2 (racial pick) =16 (5 points)
Cha 8 (-2 points)
5+5+1+3+5-2=17 points, leaving 3 remaining for a 20 point build.
Thanks Slashcard. I thought I would spend the time link my character sheet in my profile. I hope it is detailed enough. Before I uploaded it I forgot to enter my Attack Bonus which is 2 for melee and ranged.
