The Patchwork City is home to many kinds of people, and a source of wealth unseen in much of the world. Some people make it, others take it. The Black Talons are the second kind.
Juno, ignoring the rapier she carries mostly for show, draws her much higher-quality dagger and says to Andrezi and Quill, "Let's move around them slowly, try work around and surround them!"
Sorry to jump the gun a bit Sidoze, but time is tight today for me so I will post my action and you can either have your action go before or after it. I am in a better position to break the log jam.
Round 3
Quill steps up and falls into a roll coming up behind one of the undead, (z3) hoping to avoid its deadened blows.
no problem quill im actually just repeating what I did last time as in I do nothing, sorry guys just rping the character :( normally dont play like this
Finally taking the hint, Grigori yanks from his belt a wide-bladed dagger and slashes down at the zombies, intending to hack one of the zombies to bloody ribbons, ideally the one he has been "working on" into ribbons with the keen steel blade.
Still can't. When I enter, I get thrown to the first page. You killed zombie 2, BTW. You didn't even ask his name! the map wroks fine, so I think the site's acting up.
Sorry everybody, busy end of the week. I've got Bleed and Vanish in my Spells section of my character sheet.
Her dagger in one hand, Juno moves over to Andrezi's side while pulling a familiar wand from her waist.
Touch Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Fort DC 11
"Multipurposeful, this thing," she says as she tries to duck and weave through the combat and touch one of the zombies. [ooc]1 use of decompose corpse wand.
Decompose Corpse spell description:
Using this spell, the caster rapidly decomposes the flesh from a single corpse of size Huge or smaller, leaving behind a perfectly cleaned skeleton. If it is cast on a non-skeletal corporeal undead, the creature takes a –2 penalty on all rolls and to its Armor Class and CMD for 1 minute.
Sidoze watching the others tilts his head at Quill's words about slicing the undead and quickly drops his rapier to the ground and draws a dogger as he moves past the now giant legs of Grigori moving to leap over the zombie directly in-front of him. Slashing out at it with the dagger once he lands behind it.
Acrobatics1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Attack1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 2 = 15
Dmg + sneak attack
1d4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (1) = 3And thats why I leave the combat to others lol
Sidoze looks down at the dagger and up at the small incision he had made on the zombie's back. Groaning inwardly he sighs "Oh bloody hell."
(I don't think these qualify as human). Sidoze is up.
DM GK:
According the Bestiary, when you put the zombie template on something (in this case a human) it's type changes to undead. It retains any subtype except for alignment subtypes. For example a human is Humanoid with the human subtype [Humanoid (human)]. So as described, if the zombie in question was a human when alive its type would be Undead (human). All that being said, you are the DM and if you choose to run it differently, that's fine. But as per the rules it would count as human if it was in life.
Grigori barely seems to notice the one zombie strike him with its rotted claws, and slices the knife through the air, cleaning some of the foul zombie flesh from it before slashing down again at the next zombie being flanked by his employer Sidoze.
I don't think there's any flank to be had in this position w/ just a 5-foot-step, but I will slide down one square just in case Sidoze or Grigori wants to step up for the flank.
"Good job you two!" Quill smiles at Gregoria and Andrezi as she wipes at the bit of sweat on her forehead.
Quill then pulls a thin stick out of her bag. "I can fix you all up right quick..unless you want to look desperate when we reach the shrine...well, you'll still be bloody. I can't do nothing about that."
Quill is offering CLW to those in need. clw for Gregori -> 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 clw for Savvy -> 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 clw for Savvy 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Sidoze quickly looks at the others before readjusting his clothes and scarf and trots past the the still enlarged Grigori to retrieve his fallen blade where he had dropped it. Once done he asks the others "Well? Are we ready to continue?" he asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Unless of course we would like to wait for more of these things."
"Thanks, Quill, I'd hate for our arrangement to be ruined by an unsightly appearance." Juno spends a minute to make sure the party is cleaned up with prestigitation, and then says to Sidoze, "You're right, let's get going."
So, what do you guys think: do we try to buy some of their vestments from them, or convince them to give them to us in some other manner?
After a longish stroll, you arrive at the shrine of Abadar. Unlike the other structures in the area, it appears to be in good shape. It's a 40'x 40' roof over a few columns, with a statue in the center. Alton, dressed in the white and gold robes of a priest, plays towers with 3 purple-robed guards. They stop, and seem surprised to see you. One quickly puts away a bottle of what appears to be liquor.
Welcome to Abadar's shrine, visitors, Alton says. We don't receive many guests. I trust your pilgrimage was safe? The undead walk the streets here even during the day. You are safe here, though, under Abadar's hallowed roof. I am Alton, tender of the shrine, such as it is, at your service.
I missed Juno's post. You can plot a bit if needed.
Juno smiles warmly as she approaches Aloros. "Indeed, we actually ran into some of the shambling fiends, but luckily our bodyguards here," she gestures to Andrezi and Grigori, "kept us safe. A genius idea you had, dear," she says, looking at Sidoze. As she approaches, she slips her arm into the crook of Sidoze's elbow and, with a knowing look to her partner-in-crime that says "Just play along with it," she leads the group of them up into the shrine to speak with the priest.
"Good morning, sir, we are the soon-to-be Lorick family: my name is Molly and this is my fiance Kirk," she says, gesturing to Sidoze. "We decided a long time ago to make this pilgrimage before we were wed: we wanted to see this marvelous piece of our great city's history as a reminder of the dangers that linger near us daily, and the dangers that the holy Judge of Gods keeps us safe from. We wanted this before our wedding, and so here we are. The journey here was frightening indeed, but I am eternally glad that we are here now, safe, in the dignified hands of Abadar and his servants. Tell me, how is it, living here in seclusion and constant danger? You must be very brave for accepting a post so far removed from the rest of the Church."
Juno inspects her surroundings as she speaks. Is Aloros wearing the clerical vestments we are looking for/are there any visible in the area? Are there other priests/clerics in the area, or is he alone? That sort of thing.
