Black Talons of Absalom (Inactive)

Game Master Dave Young 992

The Patchwork City is home to many kinds of people, and a source of wealth unseen in much of the world. Some people make it, others take it. The Black Talons are the second kind.

The cleric acted out of turn. Sidoze should have gone before him. Sry.

Sidoze goes, then the cleric, then we start round 3. As of now, he DIDN'T do anything, and so forth.

Male Human Rogue 1/ Fighter (Brawler) 3

Grigori grunts as one of the paladin's swords berings him back to the world and he roars a battle-cry and smashes with his armored fist at the paladin, even though his body aches with agony from the sword blows he intends to send the paladin down with him should he fall, then makes a hasty few steps backwards toward Quill.

"You do be healing Grigori yes?! Not last much longer if paladin types keep cutting Grigori to pieces!"

Spiked Gauntlet 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 Damage 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Move to n18

He's so dead he can't recover.

Sorry. I forgot you could act and went out of turn.

NOW, the cleric does his mojo, and the weaker pallies who were hurt look a little healthier.

Round 3, everybody can act. Grigori went, so A's next.

Yeah. We'll let it go at that. They weren't exactly up to full, so I'll just call it good, and try to keep up with my own campaign. They're not all equally tough. p7 is dead. You're a murderer, too!

You've still got plenty on your plate...lol

Waiting to see how the map looks on my turn before posting an action :). Let's keep at it, guys, we got these paladins!

MAP

p1 is down for the count. p2 wakes up, finds his sword, and gets up, burning his round. Quill and Sidoze get AOs on him. Juno can do her thing now, too.

HP: 9/21

Juno moves up to the cart, drawing her dagger, and then casts another sleeping enchantment on the paladins around Grigori. "I'll take care of this one," she says, nodding down at the sleeping paladin at her feet. "Focus on the others."

DC: 18

I haven't got healing for Grigori, unfortunately, but I could enlarge him if that would help with anything :P

Male Human Rogue 1/ Fighter (Brawler) 3

Probably not Juno, I'm getting hit often and hard enough as it is without losing two of my ac to size and dex penalty

King of Goblins *MAP*

p2 resumes snoring. The horse is spooked, the cleric shouts an order, and the other pallies start tugging on the wagon, trying to back it out into the bigger street.
No movement yet.

p6 swings and misses. Quill's turn.

MAP

Female Human Cleric 4/Rogue 1 HP: 29/29 AC: 18/T:12/FF:16 - Percep: + 10 - Saves: F4/R5/W8 - CMB +4 - CMD 15

"Steady there, Big G. Here's a touch for your troubles." Quill lays a hand on Gregori's arm and sends healing energy his way.

Cast Cure Moderate Wounds on Gregori -> 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 = 10

MAP

I take it Sidoze's brutal murder of a helpless paldin was in this round, right?

As the pallies try to get the wagon backed up, the cleric casts another spell.

Quill needs to make a DC 15 will save.

Then, ROUND 4!

Grigori 24
Andrezi 16
2 paladins 15
Juno 14
Other pallies 11
Quill 10
Sidoze 6
Cleric 5

Female Human Cleric 4/Rogue 1 HP: 29/29 AC: 18/T:12/FF:16 - Percep: + 10 - Saves: F4/R5/W8 - CMB +4 - CMD 15

Will save vs DC 15 -> 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Quill turns and stares deeply at the cleric letting him know that his measly attempt failed and he is next.

MAP

She's baaaad!

Grigori! Initiate sequence.

Did you get that I wanted to hit the paladins on p5 and p8 with the Sleep spell, not p2 again? Just the wording "resumes sleeping" makes me think that I just hit the same guy with the spell twice :P

No. I thought you were after p2, but no biggie. They both fail the DC, and fall down.

So, p2 is up again.

True That! There was a AoO earlier, I sort of glossed on it because it seemed Juno dropped him again but if that wasn't the case....

AoO vs P2 -> 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10...eh...nevermind :-)

Mad Russian to the white courtesy phone! Our 2-fisted brawler needs to get his brutal on.

Grigori exchanges a nod with Quill once she heals a few of his wounds and then lumbers back forwards to strike at the paladin in front of him next to the carriage. His fist sails wide however and he swears again loudly.

Grigori do you really want to attack one of the sleeping paladins?

Andrezi makes a pair of quick strikes at the paladin in front of him again.

Right Kukri:1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13 (favored enemy)

:P yeah, those guys back there are floored at the moment, haha.

Andrezi hits one for minor damage. No flank, but he's almost dead.

p2 gets up, grabbing his weapon, and is done for his turn, at full hp, and not a wimp. Juno.

You can move yourself on your turn. Click the square you want to be in, type your name, then click on your old square and delete or backspace.

Juno looks up at the paladin in front of her with a smile, then raises her hands and blasts him with a face-full of bright colors and magic.

Concentration (casting defensively) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

Color Spray (DC 16)

I think this hits the horses, too, which is kinda cool because if they collapse they can't really move the cart :P I just hope we'll be able to get them to calm down long enough to transfer the goods. ANother idea we should consider is just killing the horses if it seems like they might get away!

MAP

Your luck is great. p2 is blind and stunned, and the horse is out like a light.

P3 gets away from the cart and tries to smite Grigori. He hits, and G takes 3 damage. p4 tries to wake up his sleeping buddies.

p6 misses.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

He growled loudly in satisfaction as his fist collided powerfully with the paladins face with full force, using his left gauntlet to open the man's guard wide enough to deliver the blow.

L. Kukri:1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14 (favored enemy)
Damage:1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 (favored enemy)

Well that was pretty craptastic.

MAP

Nothing changed in Andrezi's world... except his enemy looks much healthier now.

p2 is up and swings fiercely, but he's still blinded, and nothing changes in his world, either.

The paladin in front of her temporarily dealt with, Juno takes a step back and targets the paladin in front of Grigori.

Daze, DC 17 Will Save

Quill knows the cleric must go, or this fight will never end. Gives her tattoo a tap and vanishes from sight. She then lightly steps up past the blind paladin and Sidzore, and then along the sleeping horse to the wagon

Stealth -> 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

She makes it into the wagon and prepares to strike the cleric.

She is open to AoO from P2 or P6 if they can sense her.

So does a blind target give bonuses to an attacker? Just curious

Flank attack
1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 = 21

1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (4) = 7

Sidoze grimaces to himself and thrusts out at the blinded paladin with his rapier. "Die already!"

Yes. He loses his dex bonus. He would have died, but he got healed.

Nobody sees Quill.

I can't very reliably keep track of hp values/who has been hit more since the fight broke out. I know Grigori had it rough at the beginning, but Andrezi, are you faring okay against that paladin on the left? I'm wondering who I should target next, who needs the support the most?

Also, GM, I don't know how comfortable you are with this sort of strategizing. If this is too meta-gamey, let me know and I will shuttup immediately :P

Male Varisan Human Cleric (Varisian Pilgrim) of Desna 5 | HP 36/36 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | Fort+6 Ref +5 Will +9 (+10) | Initiative +3 | Perception +4 | Channel Energy 2/7 | Bit of Luck 7/7 | Agile Feet 7/7

Just fine. I haven't been hit yet, and spell targeting non-lawful types didn't harm me as Andrezi is LE.

p2 is no more. He died in misery.

Juno sends another blast of magical energy from her fingertips, this one hurtling toward the paladin in front of Grigori (p3, Daze DC 17)

So, I'm pretty new to mage classes to be perfectly honest, so someone please let me know if I'm doing something not very smartly :P. It seems like, in order to avoid running completely out of spells, I'll probably just be spamming Daze on some paladins for a little while.
