You know what to do here.

Dotting.

I don't know where Austin got the AC 15 for the warchanter, but the published AC is 17 for them. Sorry.

Just out of curiosity, anyone played/run RotR before this? I'm okay with it if you have. I just would like to know.

Also, I tend to modify published things, so even if you know an entire AP by heart that I'm running, don't expect things to be as published. ;)

Not I; I've picked up bits by osmosis from the messageboards, but that's mostly because of Hook Mountain Massacre.

[Mr.Burns]Yes, Yes. Hook Mountain Massacre. Yessss.[/Mr.Burns]

hehe ;)

I own the AP, but have never played or run it. I have read parts of the books, primarily the supplementary articles on the deities and regions.

No problem.

Spoiler:

I was in one game that died off partway through the Glassworks; that's the extent of my exposure.

I've never played RotRL before.

Two things: 1. Please remember this thread is here for posts that are only OOC talk. 2. Would you all be okay if I "accelerated" the speed at which the story progresses a little?

Fine with me. That said, I may have limited internet time this weekend, so maybe hold off on accelerating until Monday?

I should expand on the acceleration idea. I'm not talking about people needing to post more often, though that is welcome if you're able, I'm talking about the in-game timeline. Example, in the published adventure, the party doesn't have the meeting with the Mayor, Sheriff, and Shalelu until a few days have past, and the townfolk hear about how awesome the party is and how well they handled the goblins.

That's all I mean. Just cutting down a little on the time between events, etc.

Whatever works for you, you're the GM.

Sounds good to me.

I may not be able to post much this weekend--will be at an SF con, and I don't know if the hotel charges for internet.

This. :-)

Jed's racist views are somewhat ironic, considering that he's of half-Chelaxian and half-Shoanti blood. Not sure what type of check it would be for the others in the group to figure out Jed's 'half-injun'! Maybe Isaak would already know this?

Hmm...there's a decent chance he'd be able to tell. Though perhaps not...he spent most of his life with the elves, he's only struck out on his own in the past few years. I think knowledge: local would probably cover regional ethnicities fairly well...though Issak lacks said knowledge skill...

Also, Issak may not be too happy about Jed's commentary either :P

(male Human (part Chelaxian, part Shoanti) Ranger (crossbowman, guide) 2)

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Thanks, same to you and to everyone else!

My posting's going to be limited until I get home from school on Saturday--I fried my laptop last night :(

I probably won't be able to post anything tomorrow through Sunday evening. (Family coming over, lots of cooking & baking yet to do, and like that.) OTOH, Norhalo is still disabled, so he can't do anything but move w/o taking damage and passing out--I don't expect him to be able to contribute much until he heals up some.

Due to the holiday, and other things, I'm putting the game on hold until Monday.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Belated Merry Christmas everyone!

*DING* You are all level 2! :D

To you also, and thank you.

L2 hit points:
1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6

(+1 for CON, +1 for favored class)

Stat increase: +1 CHA

Unless anyone has other suggestions, I'm going to take daze as my new cantrip, and will take a rank in Diplomacy instead of a second rank in Knowledge (Dungeoneering).

(Male Human Fighter 2)

Level 2 HP's: 1d10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

Max HP at each level.

(Male Taldan Half-Elf Wizard 1/Cleric of Nethys 2)

Calathes is leveled up. (1st level of Cleric, +1 to CHA per the original advancement procedures given by our original absentee DM.)

Since we have not rested, I assume that I don't have any spells yet. What is your ruling on other powers like domain powers and Channel Positive Energy?

When I allow level ups in the middle of things, I run it as the PC's have been holding back a little on things they could already do.

Therefore, everyone gains their new HP, skill ranks, spell slots/known (available and prepped as desired), etc. But, until given 8 hours of rest, already used abilities are still used.

Here's hoping everyone has a safe and happy new year!!!!

Issak updated...added a point to Strength, favored class point to hp, picked up Stand Still (combat maneuver check to stop movement on AoO), and the ability to remove reach from my glaive at a penalty.

Blackfang, I've leveled up Jed. One question: would it be OK now if I swapped out my Totem Spirit trait for Heirloom Weapon? I'd like to have Jed keep 'Bessie' as his weapon as he rises in level, since she's almost as much a part of his identity now as his drinking problem and irascible personality. Let me know if that would be OK. I'd explain her becoming masterwork as due to Jed making 'modifications' to her as he learns more and more about using a light crossbow as a weapon.

Sure.

Anyone have any comments, questions, criticisms, requests?

Just an FYI,
I'm going to be out of town on vacation this week from Tuesday through Saturday and in the interest of Domestic Tranquility I won't be brining my laptop with me.
I will have my phone with me and can follow the thread but won't be able to post much, if at all.
So feel free to DMPC my character as necessary.
Thanks,
V

Nothing beyond what we discussed earlier--I'm still enjoying the game, and it seemed like we were getting into a more regular posting groove there. BTW, it'd been long enough since anything had been posted here that I didn't notice your request until this morning.

Seeing a recent Gamer Connection thread (and dealing with the situation in another PbP) got me to thinking--do we need to (or even want to) recruit replacements for Jedech and Jaed? It's been almost three months since Jedech's player's last post, and I don't know if we'll have Ameiko with us for much more of the AP. I also don't know enough about the AP to say whether a security specialist and a tracker/missile combat specialist are indispensable. Opinions?

Jaed will be returning to the group. I don't want to say when, because a lot of that depends on how fast the group moves through things.

Jedech will not be accompanying the group after things are finished under town.

Would you all like me to find another player or two?

A skill-monkey type wouldn't be bad, particularly if they can find traps...assuming that this is just the first of many dungeons in the AP.

So who do we still have with us?

Norhalo-Sorcerer
Jaxom-Fighter
Calathes-Cleric/Wizard
Issak-Fighter

If Jaed does return, then we have a Rogue as well.

With Jaed returning, the need for a rogue would certainly be less, perhaps another potential healer type (alchemist, cleric, druid, oracle, paladin?)

Five characters should be sufficient...I wouldn't be opposed to us recruiting one more though.

The biggest gap seems to be in ranged combat--Jaed's a TWF rogue, not an archer rogue, and both Jaxom and Issak are melee specialists.

ETA: A cleric of Erastil or an inquisitor would give us more healing and some missile combat.

lost my dot

(Male Human Fighter 2)

Is anyone else having trouble posting in th IC thread? I've been trying to get a post up since this afternoon.

Anyway,
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

I just put up a test post; seemed to work for me.

That's odd. All afternoon my posts have been being displayed like I pressed the Preview button instead of the Sumbit Post button and have not shown up in the thread.

Everything seems to be working now, though.

I've had that happen a few times in the past couple of weeks, but not today.

I'm going to be out of town through Monday; Black Fang, please GMPC Issak as necessary.

Nothing bad--annual family fishing trip.
