Putting together a Two-Handed Fighter for the recruitment...Is the Rugged Northerner Feat a Bonus Feat above and beyond what you are given by class/race, or is it just required that it be one of your existing Feats?
Sorry DM Black Dow - I quit stealing your Discussion Thread. I just get very excited about a potential new PbP with activity and commitment. They are far and few between.
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Heh - I'm sure BD won't mind overmuch :)
The Rugged Northerner is a bonus feat in addition to all you normally get. People are just made of sterner stuff up there.
Could be up for this as well. A Titan Mauler, possibly Dwarf although could just go Ulfen if that causes problems. If Ulfen, he just creates and wields BIG weapons and it doesn't have to be tied to Jotun-hatred that the Dwarven-build would be built around.
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Heh - get enough interest and it might not even be worth a proper Recruitment thread ;)
Muli - Dwarf would be ok, you'd be looked down on (pun intended) for a while, but would find it easier to get acceptance than say a halfling or elf would.
Ragnar - I'd be going down the route of Barbarian/Bard - Drunken Brawler/Savage Skald... Probably a straight up level split, but can lean more to one should the group need him...
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Excellent good!
That would likely fill up three spots on the roster - leaving but 2-3 more... I'm a bit loathe to open up a specific recruitment thread with only a few spots to fill... so will probably just seek interest in one of my other PbPs.
@Ragnar, I'm afraid I would pass up on this one, thanks for the offer, though. I currently have my hands full with RL and couldn't slot in another pbp.
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Right back in the saddle again! These last few weekends and weeks have sucked up my time and conspired against the great momentum you gents have blessed my game with...
Superbowl, offshore and a lost weekend in Glasgow watching the Dropkick Murphys are now history and I can get tae building up the cold of Iobaria once again...
Thanks for sticking with it and me!
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Heh - Luke seems to be the bravest among us.
Carnivorous plant - pshaw, lets make some supper :P
Gents RL has got the better of me this week, interweb router issues, late night rig up/rig down pump demos at an oil & gas event we're main sponsors at... In short I'm feckin knackered!
Give me a few days to gird my loins and I'll have this Saga back on track by the weekend. Again I appreciate your patience lads...
Lads - put a new section regarding loot in the campaign info: Cold Hard Stash...
See this basically as a holding station until such time as items are claimed or used. Let me know who wants dibs on what [and if necessary and spells/skills to ascertain value or use]
Game-wise Quern's cave offers us an interlude, so by all means RP and plan your next move(s).
Feedback on the game (outwith the pacing lol) are most welcome at this juncture :)
I would like to claim the MW Cold Iron arrows, the Blodrot Arrows and the Alfur's Cloak. Can anyone Identify the properties og the cloak for me?
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Ragnar claimed the trow's hook, but doesn't need anything else.
As to feedback - I have no issues whatsoever. You're maintaining a high degree of immersion and detail in the updates which makes it very easy as a player to play off that and provide a nice level of detail for your good self.
Maps are awesome in their detail as well, which helps. Much better than the ones I can come up with ;)
I already took the arrows, and I want to put in a claim for the Alfur's cloak. I have yet to write it on my sheet in case some one wants to argue with me for it :-)
Does indeed... BTW remember to get your big bowl of Level Up: Breakfast of Champions :)
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))

Ragnar has a somewhat idiotic and yet potentially awesome idea... as it's better to seek forgiveness than ask permission....
This was Muli's idea as well. But let the plant in the doorway take the initial brunt, or you will be fighting two enemies, unless you want to get it out of your way so you can charge freely.
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Well Ragnar's was a bit more like kick the trow off the cliff - then do a DFA charge attack as he leapt from atop the cliff.... but yeah, Muli's way works more better too :P
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
BD - how would you rule a leaping raging charging power attack if Ragnar surged forward and leaped off the cliff at the jotun?
I'm assuming fall damage would apply - but would you rule anything special around the contact with the biggun? - or would I just fall flat next to him to be turned into mincemeat?
Just want to get it straight before he gives in to the bezerkr call coming from within.
I always find that it comes up very big on the first dramatic character defining moments. Big crits or amazing skill checks. But it can go the other way too.
My Bard Sebastian, in another game Ragnar just joined recently, on his first big perform check he rolled a one. At that point I realized he was in a lot of school productions but was not very good in them or thy were just bad plays. That's been his schtick ever since: recalling very bad sounding plays and lectures from his school days.
Ragnar Sköld Född(Male Human (Ulfen) Barbarian 3 (Invulnerable Rager archetype))
Yep - in Voodoo's Zolurket game I built a Crypt Breaker Alchemist with a +13 in Perception while mutagenned up - then proceeded to roll a 1 the first time I looked for traps!
Take the good rub with the bad... and try not to anger the randomization gods :)
I am replaying Balder's Gate right now, and I love when a character gets a killing crit and the opponent explodes with limbs spinning out in all directions...that's what I see when I read Ragnar's attack.
Finally getting my gameface on gents - updated the "People" section of the Campaign Info with some new portraits and info. Likewise for Foes & Fauna...

Probably an appropriate juncture to do a cross-post to all my more active PbPs about an interruption to my posting schedule that is imminent.
My wife is about 37 weeks pregnant, which basically means that the bun is fully cooked and ready to pop at any time. This means that at some point in the next 1 day to 4 weeks I will suddenly and without notice disappear completely from the interwebs. I can't say when or for how long, but it will probably knock me out for up to a week or so before my wife and I get back on our feet and I'm of somewhat sound and untired enough mind to jump back online.
So if I do vanish, please don't fret as I shall return :) I would just ask for some leeway on posting frequency for a while as we adjust to the new baby floating around.
