Deathraven calmly snaps the plasma pistol from his hip and points it at the huge mutant.

"I am Deathraven of the Black Legion. Know the name of your slayer."
He pulls the trigger. Multiple plasma bolts fly forth to impact the mutant leader.

1d10 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

dodge: 1d100 ⇒ 49 vs 58
The mutant is fast but not fast enough to dodge both blasts. The first one wizzes past his head but the 2nd lands to the body burning a hole right through his armor into his skin.

He howls not in pain but of delight and charges forward moving through the water like he was born in it axe raised high and reaches Deathraven for his berserker charge!

The mutant spits blood grinning and swings the giant axe again at Deathraven.

Deathraven watches the axe slam into the ground next to him before swinging a looping overhand with the power fist.

1d100 ⇒ 46

Damage: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (2, 1) + 20 = 23 Pen 9

dodge: 1d100 ⇒ 27 vs 58
He steps to the side of the blow and swings the giant axe again!

attack: 1d100 ⇒ 78 vs 40 (swift attack)
Miss

Once again, Deathraven watches the axe swing wide. His opponent lacked skill, though his ferocity almost made up for it.

1d100 ⇒ 98

Missed.

Hit 1
damage: 2d10 + 10 ⇒ (3, 8) + 10 = 21 pen 6

Deathraven nimbly evades both swings before jabbing the power fist at the mutant once more.

1d100 ⇒ 55

Damage: 2d10 + 20 ⇒ (2, 7) + 20 = 29

dodge: 1d100 ⇒ 70 vs 58
The power fist smacks the mutant square in the chest dropping him straight to his back. He looks up at Deathraven and raises his hand.

"You wins!"

"Who is in charge here?"

"You's the boss now."

"Correct. You may live. You will serve me until I deem otherwise. Stand down, Draex. There are others to slay. You may only kill these if they prove unworthy of our cause."

He looks around at the mutant rabble.

"Does anyone have an objection that they wish to voice?"

None of the other mutants make a move or say anything. They only look at you and your group in awe.

"Tell us the state of affairs in this Hive. Who were you fighting with before we arrived?"

Draex looks at deathraven with disgust
"I will stand down for the good of the mission cousin and my asking was a courtesy. Cause this chump calls you boss doesnt mean I do. "

Draex walks off before the nails override his reason

Deathraven watches Draex move off. He's well aware of the war raging within his 'cousin' which makes him particularly unsuitable for infiltration missions such as this. He respected his ability to keep the bloodlust under control, tenuous as it was, but he knew they had better find someone for him to kill soon if they were to have any hope of success.

He turned his attention back to the large mutant that he had just defeated in single combat.

"You were saying?"

"if these mutants are to be our arm then we'd best arm them. Aldegund what materials will you need?"

Aldegund looks at Menstras What do you want to arm them with? Las based weapon? We will need las-batteries, and proper materials to build rifles. Then train them on proper use"

"Before we worry about arming them, let us discover what they are up against, hmm?"

The big mutant stands up looking very hurt holding his hand to his chest where the power fist landed.

"There are 2 other gangs down here. One is led by a psychopathic witch named Lericet Slaus. I heard she has killed her own group multiple times over and these dreg still find a way to serving her. The other is led by a servant of the machine. Both are crazy in their own ways."

Aldegund interest peeks "I believe we should subdue or convince this servant of the machine, it could be an asset"

"I agree with your assesment, cousin Aldegund. But I think we should show them a taste of our power by eliminating this Lericet Slaus first. It will show them the folly of standing against us and give Draex someone on which to sate his bloodlust. I doubt he could stomach much more negotiation at this point."

He turns his attention back to the mutant.

"Where can we find this witch you speak of?"

"A Witch, perhaps I shall spare her to see if I can uncover anything of use from her".

The mutant grunts in approval of destroying his enemies.

"Lericet Slaus lives in a small fortress made of refuse and scrapmetal stolen from the underhive by her terrified devotees. I know how to get there but we have never been able to penetrate her defenses. She's a sneaky little witch!"

"She has never faced the Black Legion. We are the Gods of War. What are you called, mutant?"

Deathraven orders two other mutants to reattach his jetpack while checking his weaponry as they prepared for war.

"I am Grens Scadegung." he holds his head low as he speaks.

"I have a job for you and your minions, Grens Scadegung. After you direct us to the fortress of this witch, I want you to locate a sorcerer called Nereus. He is somewhere in this Hive. When you find him, report back. Do not engage him. Do you understand?"

"This witch sounds interesting, she kills her own group multiple times and they still return eh. I wonder how she managed to do that.... maybe i can get her to do it again hahahhahaha"

Draex laughs through his pulsating headache

Gren looks confused at Deathravents request.

"I don't know no Nereus. How we find him?"
He's obvious not that bright. All brawn no brain."

The rest of the mutants all look a bit confused as well obviously never asked such a request before. They were all just so use to fighting and that's about it.

"Do you have ways of hearing the rumours of the streets above? Use them. Find places that people are avoiding. Or places where people are disappearing without a trace. Possibly even places where people come back changed."

Deathraven wasn't holding out hope that they could accomplish this, but it gave them something to do while the Marines meted out death and carnage. Much better than killing themselves for entertainment.

Gren provides you with directions to Lericet's domain before walking off with some of his men scratching his head.

Your group makes it's way through different parts of the mines where it's a bit less wet. You see a few dregs down here but nothing worth bothering your time with as they avoid you when they see you.

Make Perception +10 checks please.

1d100 ⇒ 24 vs 82

Since you made it right away will just continue no one else needs to roll.

Deathraven you spot a trip wire on the ground ahead of you going toward the witches domain. It's easily spotted by your keen eyes but a normal human may not have been so lucky. If triggered it would have detonated frag grenades. Perhaps this was one of the types of traps Gren was talking about.

Continuing on and being careful you do not detonate any of the traps as there are a few more.

Make Perception tests again (+0)

1d100 ⇒ 10 vs 72

Activate Preternatural Awareness 1d100 ⇒ 77

Spend Infamy to re-roll 1d100 ⇒ 28

Perception (Unnatural) 1d100 ⇒ 92 Still failed, good eye Deathraven!

I'll wait to see if Deathraven is kind enough to tell us lol

Need everyone to make this perception roll please.

1d100 ⇒ 62

Draex hates these kind of defenses. To sow fear with trip wires and booby traps in the dark.

"Cowards, they are with these booby traps defenses. Trying to spread fear in the darkness of these tunnels. I will kill them all for slowing me down to kill them."

anyway to deactivate the bomb and add them frags to arsenal

Perception 42: 1d100 ⇒ 42

Awareness: 1d100 ⇒ 24 v 74
Security: 1d100 ⇒ 21 v 44

Menstras takes the time to deactivate each trap he discovers in case the group must make a hasty withdrawal.

If you make your perception check make a Willpower +0 check as well.

As you make your way through the mines you notice (if you make your perception check) patterns of wracking runes. The runes fill you with strange emotions you have not felt for some time.
Gain 1 corruption per degree of failure on your willpower test if you fail.

Willpower 42: 1d100 ⇒ 24

Willpower 41: 1d100 ⇒ 97

5 degrees of failue. +5 Corruption.

WP: 1d100 ⇒ 58 v 48
1 DoF

Willpower 1d100 ⇒ 88

2 DoF. 2 more Corruption.

This witch is crafty using her crafts to corrupt the minds of those who would dare come to her domain.

You finally reach the threshold of her small fortress made of refuse and scrapmetal. Outside you see 4 humans in robes holding crude chain and slug guns with robes over whatever makeshift armor they may have on.

They look a bit hesitant as you approach being as large as you are. They probably have never seen Adeptus Astartes before.

"Stop... who goes there?" one says trying to be stern but you can obviously tell he's scared.

Menstras removes his helm, allowing the aether to move freely.
"The hand of the gods!"

Intimidate: 1d100 ⇒ 58 v WP48/Str49 +10 + Fear(1)

Mind Probe on the speaker.

Opposed Willpower 1d100 ⇒ 54

fear check: 1d100 ⇒ 35 vs 30

willpower check: 1d100 ⇒ 61 vs 30

The humans begin to shake from the fear instilled by Menstras backing up a bit.

"Please..... do not come any closer...." the lead one speaks trying to stay as calm as possible.

Taloc these 4 are cultists of Lericet Slaus. They do not have any psychic powers they are just some of the lackeys she commands.

Can we say that hit took me out of the fight? I'm leaving the country in two days and won't be back for a bit over a week, and will be too busy touristing to post.

Dodge check anyways: 1d100 ⇒ 59 Nope.
Daemon protection: 1d100 ⇒ 97 Nope.
The concussive knocked me down, I need to do my toughness check against the stun. 1d100 ⇒ 23 Only failed by 12, that's stunned for 1 or 2 rounds I think.

That happens to me on this thread in particular a lot for some reason, forces of Chaos perhaps messing with their servants :-)

Guys I'm really sorry for the slow posting. Things have been crazy with work and family things. I'm going to put this game on hold for now don't want to keep you all waiting for days/weeks for posts not fair to you.

Was a good run while it lasted.

If I ever do find some time again and revitalize the game I'll let you know.

No worries Caps.

No problem I enjoyed it!
