On Baris's turn he will move about the beast hoping for flanking. He will make a loud noise, Aaahhieeee once halfway done with his journey to draw the dragons attention to where he was, but is not now.

MAP 10

Bladecatcher sees the dragon on the run and continues his rage to complete another devastating blow with his axe! But in his rage he let slip the axe and it falls at the feet of the dragon!!!

Though Indrick's shot was on target the arrow merely glances off of the dragons hide.

Baris manages to bounce around to flank the beast. Black Fang hears the noise made by Baris and turns slightly to find it. Poor, poor blind dragon...

So far, Wilhelmina had to say the battle was going rather well, in the sense that nobody had been chomped or breathed on yet, but the dragon was playing defense rather well, and she had to remind herself that it was not some dumb beast. The party would need every advantage they could get to defeat it. To that end, she moved out from behind the wall as she cast Bane, hoping to position herself better for if the time came to charge at the wyrm or to heal the party without healing the dragon too.

Wilhelmina casts Bane. The dragon gets a DC 14 Will saving throw to negate. If he fails he gets -1 to attack and -1 to saving throws against fear effects.

MAP 10

Wilhelmina's spell has no effect on the dragon. As Black Fang's sight returns to him, he is enraged by the sight of all the adventurers who have come to his home. He unleashes a plethora of devastating attacks on Bladecatcher who stands there weaponless.

Black Fang takes Bladecatcher in his jaws and clamps down while ripping into his flesh with both claws. Despite taking more damage than one could normally handle he stands ready to attack one last time before he falls. Bladecatcher takes 22hp damage.

Tochi paled as he watched his ally and friend be eviscerated by the dragon. He could not believe that Bladecatcher was still standing after all that. But he knew he could not stand idly by and watch anyone else be ripped apart by this fiend.

He gathered his strength into his sword arm and swung it with as much power as he could towards the underside of the dragon's belly.

power attack and buffs edit:critical, confirmed critical, and x2 dmg! 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 151d8 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

The dragon reels under the weight of the blows that it couldn't even see coming! A light shines from the longsword and to Tochi's surprise it does even more damage than he felt he should have. Total 26 dmg!

Extra Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2

Tochi:
Almost forgot, against dragons you get a +3 and an extra 2d6 of damage. That does not multiply with a crit, however. I think the 2d6 was supposed to be a surprise until you swung and connected, but you can roll it from now on. Should have probably told you this earlier, but it obviously didn't matter! Nice job!!

1d20 ⇒ 20W00t! The dice gods favor us! DM, remember that bane weapons count as two enhancements higher when dealing with their creature type. So it's a +3 sword against dragons. Another 4 points of damage to the critical.

Desna smiles on the party. As Tochi lands a mighty blow, Sefyr's ray catches the creature right in the eye! Alright! Everyone we can do this.

MAP 10

Yeah, I made Tochi aware of that, but then I forgot to add it to the damage too. So, yaaa Tochi!

Once again, Sefyr manages to blind the dragon!

Bladecatcher takes the opportunity to pick up his axe and deal one last blow before he collapses under the weight of his wounds. In that moment he gives all he has and lands the deathblow! In that moment Bladecatcher falls to the ground, unconscious and barely breathing, but with a funny looking half-smile on his face that tells you he knows what he did.

Black Fang has fallen.

Wilhelmina knew her next task as soon as Black Fang got Bladecatcher in its jaws. The mighty rally that struck the wyrm down did not change that. She started by casting Stabilize on the fallen half-orc. Then she followed up by taking a step back (to get Black Fang out of range, just in case) and channeling.

1d6 ⇒ 1

She knew he was too badly hurt for her meager powers to bring back to consciousness so easily. He would need more attention. She went up to him with her healer's kit and also motioned for Baris to bring the healing potion. "He'll live, but I'd like to see him able to walk out of here with us."

Though she knew it wasn't right, She had to admit the thought also entered her head that having to carry him out would make the party that much less able to liberate the treasure that would otherwise just fall into the hands of the goblins.

Tochi let his breath out in a woosh that ended with a cough. They'd done it! They slayed a dragon! The adrenaline in his system made his hands shake as he carefully put the sword back on his hip.

He looked to where Mina was administering to Bladecatcher and as much as he would have liked to go to his friend's side he knew that he would only get in the way. So instead he went closer to the pile of treasure to see what was to be recovered there.

You see in the pile a +1 light steel shield, half-plate armor, a potion vile with a bluish liquid in it, two tattered scrolls, and 600 gold pieces.

Bladecatcher is currently -4/16, but stable.

"Ha! We did it!" Indrick couldn't help but laugh. Imagine! Taking down a dragon! There were going to be some tales to tell in Riddleport when he returned!

Despite the tempting lure of the treasure beyond, the bard moved in to lean curiously over the fallen half-orc. "Is he still alive?" Indrick asked, frowning.

I'm waiting to know the effects of the healing potion on Bladecatcher.

Yeah, about that...

Wilhelmina helps Bladecatcher to take the potion...

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

and it get's him closer but he still does not come back to consciousness.

Female Human Cleric Lv 1 HP: 9/9, - AC: 17/T: 11/FF: 16 - Perception: +3 - Initiative: +1 - F: +1 / R: +3/ W: +5 - CMB: +1 - CMD: 12, Speed: 20

Even the potion didn't bring Bladecatcher back to consciousness. His wounds had indeed been grievous and he was lucky to be alive. Only the ferocity of his orcish blood had seen him through, and that was something Wilhelmina would not soon forget. Now, though, he still needed help. Wilhelmina had been saving her last channel for an unseen emergency, but now could not wait any longer, not if Bladecatcher was to return triumphant with them. She just prayed it would be enough.

1d6 ⇒ 6

All the loot in the dungeon wouldn't have been reward enough for her if she had to return home to her father and tell him that on her first adventure she lost a comrade because her faith wasn't strong enough to heal him when he needed her. So it was an immense relief when she felt the greater amount of power flowing through her that would surely be enough to bring Bladecatcher around finally.

Bladecatcher blinks his eyes, takes a deep breath, and looks up at Wilhelmina, knowing that she's been doing the work to keep him here. "Well, thank you." And with that he got up and looked at the dragon, gave it poke with his axe, and then walked towards the entrance and stood waiting for the rest of the party.

Sefyr spins on her toes and skips to the others, We did it! Imagine that, a real dragon!

It think it would be best to bring the head back with us. It reassure everyone, and be quite the conversation piece for the town.

While Wilhelmina tends to Bladecatcher, Sefyr examines the scrolls, trying to discern their contents. I can roll if you really want to.

Once the half-orc is back on his feet, How does it feel to be a dragon-slayer? Everyone, time to grab head and hoard and see what the mayor has in store for us.

A wistful expression comes over the girls face, This was quite an adventure. Do you think we'll ever have another?

Good job everyone, we went forth boldly and Desna was on our side. Much as I'm looking forward to Cthulhu and Wolfman, it's sad to think of these companions separated. It's been fun.

Sefyr:
Eh, we can just say you took 20 when Baris did. They are a Scroll of Fireball and a Scroll of New Life.

Well, they can always be on the back-burner for another adventure. I have kind of grown fond of this group of pc's as well. If we ever feel like it we can come re-visit this little world and build upon it!

So, I'm going to assume now that all the treasure has been found you are going to make your way back to town, head in tow, to collect your money. But before you go, there's one more thing...

As you all were exiting the chambers and climbing down the wall to leave the cave, the Goblins gathered around, seeing the head of Black Fang in your hands. King Fatmouth, looking as solemn as goblins can, walks over to his little chest and takes out a couple of items. He walks over to the party, loot in his hands. "Me King Fatmouth very happy longshanks kill big mean monster. Me give you these as presents for all you done. We also no attack this town no more, we move on to other towns, attack them instead."

He hands you a wand, a ring, and three small pearls.

With that, the goblins all give a slight bow and you are on your way.

The townsfolk all rejoice as you enter, throwing a big banquet in your honor. They mount the dragons head in the town hall and the mayor gives you a little bump in the reward for actually killing the beast and driving off the goblins. You get 1,500gp.

Sefyr:
I'm throwing a little detect magic your way and telling you that the wand is a Wand of Cure Light Wounds and the ring is a Gold Ring of Protection +1, adding +1 to your AC.

Tochi was happy to cut off the head of the dragon for them to take with them, and nodded in thanks to King Fatmouth and his goblins for their gifts, though he had to bite his tongue to keep a snarky reply to the king's statement of moving on to attack other towns.

He enjoyed the revelry and praise with the rest of the group, and subtly set his share of the money aside. It was the perfect start to the funds he would need in order to travel the land and find his father, wherever he may be.

yea I never imagined that Tochi would have so much luck attached to him. Usually he just dies in horrible painful ways lol maybe on the next adventure! This is certainly not the last of him, or the rest of the gang, for sure.

I hope its not the last of this gang! I know I had a blast.

Indrick would proceed to offer whatever help he could in carrying the loot out. When King Fatmouth brought out his own little hoard of treasure, he couldn't help but smile lopsided at the little fellow.

"Again, we must thank you for your generosity," Indrick replied with a small bow. "Truly, you have been the greatest tribe of goblins one could ever hope to meet. Just... Just be careful and don't attack other towns too fiercely. It would be a shame to see something bad happen to you all."

It was doubtful if they'd listen to an outright lecture to not attack any towns, but he hoped this would give them a small something to think about...

It was fun, so should I put Baris on the backburner for the next campaign?
Baris lagged behind the entire group looking in every little corner for extra loot, hidden doors, and anything they had missed. By the time he had caught up with the group, they were just leaving the goblins. He skipped that room of intense searching.

Baris would enjoy in the banquet and dance with whoever would dance with him. Also grabbing the head and scare the children in a mockery of the dragon, all in fun.

Late that night he would have collected the loot from everyone and put it in his room, for dividing. He would welcome any help, but first of all he would like to bath in all the coins. Then the counting commences. OCD!

I'll leave that up to you. If we do revisit this particular group it won't be for a while, mostly because I'm still young in my DMing and ninja skills, so I will really only be able to DM Carrion Crown for now. I'm not too strict on reusing characters, so if you think you could run him in both it's your call. I wouldn't really care if you used him for the other and then came back and kept your lvl 1 Baris.
