Black Sun just about dances across the board, oblivious to any danger while Aerian stops the rest of the party with a word. After several minutes of adjusting the board and reinforcing it with supplies garnered from around the room, he makes sure that the weakest portions of the bridge are now bearing the least weight. Heryn is overjoyed, and reacts enthusiastically. "Thank you so much! That should hold until I can get down here and replace it as it needs." the rest of the team passes over in single file, one at a time with no dangers.

Heryn leads the party into the next room, where long racks of wine bottles settle and age in the temperate underground room. She approaches the back of the room, still chatting. "This is where we keep all of our wines. There are a number of very expensive and very rare vintages down here!" she boasts good naturedly. "Venture Captain Drengs bottle should be... just around here... Yes! There it is!" she finally exclaims, reaching for a dust covered bottle near the top of the last rack in the room. She seems to struggle for a moment, before the bottle tilts forward like a lever. Suddenly, a section of the wine rack begins to be pulled back into the wall with a deep grinding sound before it slides to the side, out of sight and now revealing a dark passage carved through the stone. Heryn is flabbergasted "What in the nine hells?!?" she exclaims. "That's impossible! I had no idea that was there?!"

Black sun moves into a short, dark corridor before Argor casts light on his staff and strides confidently forward. The corridor opens up into a medium sized room where a sturdy silver chain jutting from the ceiling ends in a glowing orb that radiates yellow light across the rectangular room. A simple desk of polished wood, stacked with documents and scattered notes, shelters a pair of wooden chests against the south wall. A series of cracks along the eastern and western walls form makeshift entrances into exposed caverns.

Black Sun and Argor: Black Sun brings up a good point with the vagaries of PBP, but in this circumstance, I am going to have to say no. If yall were in the same combat block I would allow that, but considering that Argor is technically in the round behind you I have to say no because that would give Black Sun two actions before Argor gets his first action.

Cyclic: It takes an Acrobatics check to get around an opponent like that. In this case, you would have to move through the occupied square, which is a DC of 5+opponents CMD. I rolled for you, but with a -4, you would have to roll a nat 20 to accomplish this. Failing means that you lose the action and provoke an AOO.

Argor steps forward to engage once the way is clear, and prepares himself by casting a spell to help his aim.

Cyclic tries to rush past the bottleneck and get behind the troglodyte, but bounces off of the stalwart and stinky reptilian. He swipes at her with a back hand as she scurries back behind Argor, but he misses the lithe gnome.

Ah, the eagle! I doubt it much likes the smell either.

No gagging for it. Perhaps I summoned a vulture by mistake?

While the rest of the crew are swinging and blasting, Cyclics Vulture coalesces and swoops down on the troglodyte. It manages to land a single talon on the beast on its first pass before Aerian shoots the troglodyte in the chest. With a gurgling groan, the walking smell falls over, dead.

Silence falls across the room as Jundu heals himself and Heryn creeps up behind you calling out "Is it dead?! What WAS that thing??!!"

In a nasally voice due to the fingers pinching her nose, Cyclic responds "They are called troglodytes. A throwback to the time of lizards and a nuisance if you ask me. Though they would be a holy terror in numbers."

You would think, being an oracle of decay and regeneration, I could ignore the smell.

Cyclic's answer draws Heryn closer down the hall, where she suddenly stops and turns a rather peculiar shade of green and clutches her hand to her mouth. "I'll wait upstairs for you.." she gasps breathlessly before running back the way you came.

Jundu does not find anything on the troglodyte, but the desk is another matter. It is covered with notes and journals, and lit by the rock hanging from the chain above the desk. Looking at the papers, you are shocked to learn that the papers are the personal chronicles of one Selmius Foster, a famous Pathfinder of years past. It seems that most of his famous adventures are Chronicled here in varying amounts of detail, but it is evident there is another investigation he had been pursuing before he died: the lost records of a society agent names Eylysia.

Please see the Handouts link above.

As usual Cyclic performs some last rites over the body before proceeding. then reads the notes when everyone else is done with them.

"Anyone ever hear of this Elysia? It was probably a long time ago, but hopefully she was brought to justice. But the fact that these notes remain here undiscovered, and the content of the assistant's followup note, suggest that she may never have been found out.I guess it is up to us to continue the investigation though, no doubt, the trail is cold by now. Still, there are a number of useful clues in here. what say you all? Drop these packets into the lap of some senior member, or run with it?"

I have played this one a few times before so I will hold out of the decisions. Unless of course everyone has played before. :D
