Here it is!
Everyone from the recruitment thread is welcome to post here.

And, I'll need a picture from everyone.

AC 16 Mage Amor, touch 12, flat-footed 10 (+2 Dex) hp 48 (7d6) Fort +3, Ref +5, Will +8(+1 Trait bonus to disbelieve illusions); +2 vs. enchantments Defensive Abilities resistance; Immune sleep; Resist fire 5

A profile pic?

I believe Arloric's is on his profile. It's older than his actual age and the sword isn't right, but it captures the general aesthetic I had in mind when creating him!

That's a fairly shnazzy [icture, I didn't expect the beard.

@Telerin: Yeppers! I'm putting the maps on roll2o.net. Each player can move their pieces during combat.

Hi!

Sorry for the anime-ish awkward introduction to the story.

@Baleon: My apologies to you too. Did you see it?

Will get an introductory post in when I'm not posting from a phone...

@Asmodina: I considered taking the Drow-Blooded alternate racial trait (which trades low-light vision for Darkvision and gives me light blindness), but the former is such a hefty burden I'm a bit reluctant to take it. Do you think it would be doable? Truth be told, there are probably very few areas in the Worldwound which qualify as 'brightly lit'...

I really appreciated you tailoring the intro to the characters. It is a nice touch. And a little corny is totally fine. :)

I sent this to Asmodina, but I'll post it here, too, now that I figured out that we have a discussion thread. This is a web-based Golarion calendar I put together a while back:

http://dungeonetics.com/calendar/

Yeah, I am OCD about stuff like this. I like to know the date. The calendar is configurable and the settings can be bookmarked & saved.

I am also working on setting up a WYSIWYG editor that generates Paizo-forum-style BBcode. If I get that working and stable, I'll post the link here.

Totally fine, Asmodina - actually appreciate a little tongue in cheek to offset the AP's darker moments

FYI. I am in an all-day training class today, and we have a new puppy at home, so I will be spotty today. I've posted (under a spoiler tag) what Aberus is thinking of doing in the next few moments. Feel free to have him act on that if you need it before I can check in again.

That goes for Asmodina as well.

I feel your burden, and maybe we can invent sunglasses. Why not? Pathfinder has clockwork automatons and space-age androids. Let's rise up against our limitations and make for a better Golarion today!

So, tell me about that introductory first post. Was it too big? I feel I gave a lot of fluff that was likely not seen. I mean, in the post I'm working on I am kind of picking on you for missing some of the fun details like Arl's decorated horns and Uriel's pillow.

@Aberus: We didn't lose him already did we? I won't post until we hear from him. I gave him a pillow he named Smite, how cool is that!

I really liked it. A lot. The first time I read it was actually late Wednesday night, close to midnight. It must have been right after you posted it. I intentionally waited until the morning to respond so that I could do it justice. It conveyed a sense of chaos and confusion, which was obviously the point, but mostly I enjoyed have segments tailored to each of us. Especially the way it established that we were, save for a couple of exceptions, off doing our own thing when whatever happened, happened. I also like how we each got different views of the event: some got the whole picture, some got extreme close-ups, and some (like me) got none of it.

There were a lot of great details in there, and those details really make a difference. They gave us a lot to latch on to. Trying to incorporate every one of them in my own post, though, would probably have created something a little disjointed. I pulled out the ones that I felt the strongest connection to, and that I knew I could weave into a solid reply.

Keep 'em coming.

The pillow named smite was a nice touch, btw. You have a way of putting in small bits of humor without it detracting from the story.

Female Half-drow Bard 1 | HP 9/9 {conditions: +1 to atk., saves} | AC 16 (Tch 13 FF 13) | F +2 R +6 W +3 | Init +3 | Perc +6, darkvision

I also liked it very much. It firmly establishes the tone of the campaign while also giving glimpses of how you see our PCs, adding just another layer of depth to their characterization. The writing was also very enjoyable to read, a good mixture of gravitas and humour (also, I'm a big fan of anachronic order / interspersed scenes woven into the greater narration). While I think WotR is the perfect AP for epic, high fantasy RPing, a bit of comedic relief here and there is surely welcome as long as it doesn't stray into outright silliness ;)

Re: light blindness, upon further reading it's not as bad as it seems. It's only crippling in broad daylight, i.e. a clear sunny day or a daylight spell. Clouds, a simple light spell, interior lighting etc. won't trigger it – so as long as we stay underground or the weather forecast in the Worldwound keeps predicting 'cloudy with a chance of blood and scorpions', Ithilwen should be fine :)

As for the pic, still looking for it. Drow art seems lacking in, how to put it, credibly dressed characters?

A well-done interpretation of a well-written intro as far as I'm concerned. It wove each of us into the story and conveyed just how chaotic the attack was. The only thing I'd note is Arloric doesn't have antlers. Despite being a tiefling, he appears mostly human except for his weird eye, which he usually keeps covered.

Though I think it makes sense that she'd be momentarily dazed by going from near-blackness to a light spell. It may not impact game mechanics, but it was a nice little descriptive moment.

Getting him mixed up with his animal companion, maybe? Where'd Red-Branch get to anyhow? A megafauna like him'd be hard to miss.

Hey, gang! I have created a WYSIWYG editor for the Paizo message forums. It includes support for the special forum syntax used in the online campaigns/play-by-post section such as:

Dice rolls like this: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

and OOC text. It's not perfect--I had to hack SCEditor pretty severely to get it to play ball (and SCEditor was quirky before)--but it is still 1,000 times better than struggling with Paizo's quirky BBcode-like syntax, especially for the OOC text which requires that each block of OOC lines:

[ ooc]be surrounded by the ooc [ /ooc]

[ ooc]tags like this. [ /ooc]

Which is a pain.

[ ooc]You can't just put tags

around multiple lines if there's an intervening blank or it won't apply to the following blocks. Boo! [ /ooc]

Just compose your post, switch to the source code view, and then copy & paste to here.

Try it out and let me know if you find it useful or helpful.

Soon I will be handing you a link for roll20.net. Now, I can use an image that you give me or I can doodle one up. What I can do is give you a blank face that you can draw on and scan in. Then I can use that as a reference. Personally, it's easier and faster to find one already done. I'm not a professional artist.

I really like this sketch which I found on Deviant Art:

Cleric of Sarenrae

I have contacted the artist about licensing the image for use. Assuming that goes through, I am good because this is darn near perfect.

Otherwise, I'll have to find something else.

If I could choose 3 spells to use in real life, they would probably be prestidigitation, mending, and remove disease.

I'm also waiting for the chance to slip some 'soft' RP posts here and there, though given the urgency of our current situation I refrained from doing just that as they'd probably seem out of place.

As soon as we make camp, perhaps. There's also the aspect of Ithilwen's redemption that I'd like to nail down a bit better; as of now her 14 CHA would afford her two 'sponsors', of whom one could be Alexa (due to their shared past) and another Aberus (as a worshipper of the Goddess of Redemption)?

Same here. The middle of combat is not the place for an RP post. If I was a little bit faster yesterday... I'll just say that puppies are exhausting.

As for your plan, Aberus would absolutely do this. He didn't really come to Kenabres to take a direct role in the fight, he came to support those who did. That's perfectly in line with what Ithilwen would be asking.

The concept I worked up for Aberus was someone who found themselves thrust into a position they weren't expecting to be in, similar to (but not exactly the same as) what happened to his father.

Aberus, how do you think I could blend the wizard and be a bit divine as well without losing wizard stuff. I am thinking of the angelic aspects spells.

Male Tiefling (Pitborn) Bard (Filidh) 7|HP: 88/88|AC: 15/10/15|Saves: +3 Fort, +5 Ref, +5 Will|Init: +0|Perc: +12

I'm not Aberus, but I'd advise you to be careful if you're planning to multiclass. Generally, if you're multiclassing, you're gonna wanna only take a 1 or 2 level dip to ensure you can cast 9th level spells later down the line...there's a reason people hate Mystic Theurges.

No, no, no multi class at all. I am looking for the flavor as well as some of the mechanics without being a cleric.
