GM, Can we get a description of the ladder?
Once everyone is down, disabling the ladder ie. ripping it down in some way seems prudent.
If the Hell Knights discover the secret entrance quickly, not having a ladder will slow them.
If we decide to be brave, Dahrehn can cast Grease at the top of the ladder. Those of us with darkvision can surround the foot of the ladder to try to use this choke point to take out who ever falls down while the others move ahead. As long as they don't move too far ahead, we can still catch up. Just thinking out loud :)

Unfortunately something came up and I will be away from home and my computer for a few days, I will try to check my phone tonight and keep involved. If you need to dm pc me please feel free to. I will like I said check at nights.

I apologise for the delay, but new post is going up shortly. I'm just reading things regarding what to do next.
I've been off work for a week and am on anti-biotics, with a blood test booked in for next week. I wouldn't worry though. A lot of people fall ill on here and then disappear, but I'll still be posting, just maybe a little less frequently while I'm feeling a bit rough.
Anyway, unless you're ready Trendon, I'll DMPC you as asked, but apart from that, I'll have a new post up for you all shortly and quite possibly it'll be a big one again. :)

*Coughs* Still here...
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Just waiting on the rest of the party so everyone has a chance to do something. Then I'll continue.
I'm trying to speed this up, because I get the impression some of you are bored being stuck down in the sewers right now.
If you want to say anything or have any suggestions, please let me know, because I find it a little strange there is virtually no discussion out of character, so just want to know how you're all feeling.
Thanks!
Keil |
The pace is slower than I was expecting but then being sick does hamper things. Now that you are feeling better I'm hoping things will pick up. :)
Other than a couple mysteries (the disappearing figure in the shadows and now a locked door with a seemingly crazy dude behind it - neither of which we have time for), there is not much happening at the moment. I mean, if the party wasn't being chased, we would probably have snooped about. And unless either of these mysteries (or future ones) pop out to confront us, there is no need for a lot of discussion of what to do, is there? The pattern emerging is quietly evade and proceed. IMO, if only a couple of us seem active, feel free to move things along - assume the others have nothing to contribute and are just following along in silence.
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Yea?
In that case, would everyone be happy for me to do so? I just don't want to do anything that would prevent you all from roleplaying at moments when you want to, and I feel this campaign is a slow starter that leads up to something much bigger and better. It's definitely unique. A lot of it I'm filling in the blanks with because it;s not as guided as more recent AP's.
Dahrehn Hallea |
I'd say be ok with us giving short check-ins. I know that I'm not going to be able to write long posts on most things, and as we're running through the sewers, we're not really too keen on striking up conversation. I imagine that once we're safe, we'll start hounding our host with questions about her plan.
Keil |
I have recently resurrected my Roll20 log-in....although I do confess to never getting around to actually using it :)
Do you have an invite to the campaign ready? How can we find the map?
Keil |
How goes the map creation?
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Just checking in to say I haven't forgotten about you. I've just had a busy couple of days (Bank Holiday, but working every single day through it and all through Easter), was my Birthday on Wednesday and I've just had a silly amount of work to do.
I was looking into this yesterday and there was no map suitable for the description of that around you, so I'll make a quick one in photoshop later if you don't mind.
Just a quickie to save further delay - When hosting on googledocs, how would I make it publicly viewable or password protect it to just you guys? I've not used it before.
Thanks a lot. I'll have a big post for you all later, and as soon as I post the map up, please state your positions. :)
Dahrehn Hallea |
In the top right corner of the Google Doc, there's a blue button labeled "Share", and you want to click that, then select the link that changes what others can do with the document, then set it so that those with the link can view the document. You could also set it so that those with the link can edit the document, if you want us to be able to move our own icons.
Hope that helps!
Keil |
Yes, it has been busy week for a lot of us I think.
In GoogleDocs, you are able to upload any images you want. Upload the map and tokens separate. The table top on Google docs will let you have multiple images on the same page. Once the images are uploaded, simply send us an invite or copy the link to here. Everyone will be able to move their tokens (and everything else for that matter so we will have to be careful). You can of course google google docs :) There is a ton of how to stuff out there.
Oh and, Happy Belated Birthday!
Dahrehn Hallea |
I think I'm good with my avatar picture. Happy birthday, Easter, and bank holiday, too!
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Okay, so I've just spent the most part of an hour drawing and texturing a "quick" map for you guys, and I think this should work!
I've not yet added your avatars, but if you'd like to do that yourselves, I've set it to anyone with the link can edit.
the walkways are 5 foot wide (enough for single file travel), but the edge is slippery and requires a DC5 acrobatics check every round.
The walkways are 5ft wide and most of you have just crossed over past the sewage tunnel to the left, across the planked walkway, so please place yourself in the positions you'd be travelling in, keeping in mind I think only one or two of you succeeded at the perception roll. :)
Next up, can I have initiatives from you all please. :)
1st round of combat will be up tomorrow!
Keil |
Until we have grids...just to be sure, we came from the tunnel to the north. Dahrehn has just removed that plank and we are about to cross east to the curved tunnel?
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Nope, haha. Going by the description I gave, a sewage tunnel off the ground was to your left, walkway accessed by planks north and east, and you guys came from the south.
The planks to the north have now been raised, but the sewage stream looks only to be three foot deep.
Don't worry about grids. It's good enough right now to just position yourselves next to each other/where you'd be.
Keil |
Ok, put Keil on the map...again. I also copied the other's tokens and added them at the bottom, they just need to move them into place. Has everyone been able to access Cortez's map?
Dahrehn Hallea |
I think we need it to be a drawing, right? The link took me to a word document.
Keil |
Thought the editing was weird, thanks Dahrehn! it's much better
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Not sure why my version didn't allow you to put the images on top of one another, but thanks for sorting that.
I'll be more on the ball soon, so I apologise for the delay. Life's just not giving me much time right now to do anything really. My job mostly makes sure of that, but hopefully I'll get something better within this year and actually have a job that allows me to have set time off.
Anyway, with initiative, I'll get you guys to roll, but how I run surprise rounds is if anything's there...unless they're blatantly in plain sight, I have the initial rolls based on perception and if only one person see's what's coming, only that one person is prepared for what would otherwise be a surprise round.
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Trendon - Both you and araraxus should be able to move yourselves into the position you'd like on Dahrehn's map above, and yea, the intention was to show you can act in the surprise round and really, you're between Janiven and Lirandra already because Janiven and Morosino are to the far right, trying to hurriedly find the next marker. :)
Araraxus Black Star |
Round 1
"Goblin vermin!" Araraxus drops his sword, draws his sling and fires at the goblin behind the goblin engaging Trendon.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Araraxus Black Star |
GM, I recommend we all post out actions for the round and you then sort out in the round summary. Waiting for everyone to post in turn takes too long.
Keil |
To quote Pink Floyd, "Is there anybody out there?"
Cortez, The Deathless Gantzer |
Sorry guys - Bank holiday and mum's just had a hip operation so had my last days consumed with everything but these forums.
Would you guys all prefer I did mass combat as in rolled for everything and had you all roll for everything, then did an end of round summary because I agree we've been stuck here for a while and I thank you for your patience!
