He nods with a grin, and pulls out the 5 silver for her. He drops it in her hands. " "now if possible can you make sure our group get's first pick then the rest can you please give the rest to people that show up and look hungry and unable to afford a meal. " 40 minutes would probably if those stories about seifer were correct.
"Well, you're the last ones here, so that shouldn't be much of a problem, and it's unlikely just anyone would be making a journey this far out." She takes the silver and starts to go back to work but also pulling out some food supplies to make the bread.
he nods forgetting just how remote this location was, and he heads back to his seat to get comfortable.
"I don't know where you got away with this level of slacking, but when you're a member of MY group, it frankly won't be tolerated." I attempt one last time to pick the lock.
Disgruntled, I say, "We'll be leaving promptly after breakfast, with or without you." I head downstairs, and greet Roland and Gregory.
"Good to see you two 'getting along'." I take a seat.
"Just wake me up after breakfast then! I can eat on the way!" I roll over on to just a few of the mass amount of cards sprawled upon my bedding.
"I'm getting along i'm pretty sure he's just barely tolerating me" He says with a shrug.
"As usual. How's breakfast coming along, do you know? And while we're here, Gregory, I'd like to have a general idea of your combat style if that's okay. I'm already well aware of Roland's."
Gregory nods, and starts to fish through his belongings in a pouch near his hip not bothering to sit up. He pulls at a chain, and out comes a very large steel ball with dull spikes adorning it. It seemed to be adorned with golden banding for appearances. He gestures at it with a chuckle. "I can give you one guess what i do with this."
"Hmm I dunno, roll biscuit dough?" I smirk a bit. "So you'll be one of our primary frontliners should we find trouble. I think our capabilities will mesh well."
He nods putting it back into his bag, and leans back getting comfortable in his chair. "Good to know. i'll be sure to not be in the back"
I mutter "I'd be happy to put something into your back."
He laughs outloud slapping the table. "Hey at least buy me a drink first." Gregory had obviously misheard Roland.
"Roland, is there anything specific about your ability in combat that I ought to know?" I tap my foot impatiently, waiting both for breakfast and Seifer to arrive.
"Well if we are planning on traveling by foot, I would prefer to do it in a more open environment. I can... negate... conflicts before we ever reach them. If you can see it, I should have already killed it." I gesture at my bow. "There should be very little need for a frontline if conditions are favorable."
"Simple enough. I like your confidence. Just keep it curtailed to something less than arrogance and we'll be great allies." I rest one hand on my knee and slouch forward a bit. [b]"I'm a little like Gregory here, but my priority is mainly being an enhancer. I look at what everyone does already, and helps them do it better."
40 minutes pass with relative lack of interesting events. The barmaiden comes out and brings out a platter of fresh biscuits. "Here you go a serving of biscuits, I'll be right back with some butter" She walks briskly back to the Kitchen and brings back a bowl of butter along with a few butter knives. "now is there anything anyone wants to drink, or should i just bring out some water?"
"I'll have a tall glass of cider, please." I give her a gold piece. "What's on the menu for breakfast, if I can ask?" I grab one biscuit and bite into it.
"Well, biscuits... but that's already been paid for, however I could get a stew going, you can of course request Raw fruits or vegetables, such as carrots, onions, apples, and the like. and if you feel up to paying a higher price we have some fowl that I could cook."
He takes himself a handful worth of biscuits, and takes his time to cut them in half and butter them up. He quietly enjoys his meal.
"Apples will be wonderful, thanks." As soon as the maiden leaves, I turn to Gregory and Roland. "I wanted to make one thing clear to you two; we'll be working as a team. If either of you tend to make rash or impulsive decisions, you'll be doing so without my help. My main goals are to finish what I set out to do and keep everyone alive, but I can't save everyone when they're running around like beheaded poultry. Kapeesh?"
A while latter she comes back with some apples since no one else appears to have ordered anything.
I sit there stalwart and waiting, for Seifer to come down and begin this discussion. I pretend the dragon does not exist to maintain sanity.
"Well, now that the essentials are covered, we'll be heading out towards the ruins after everyone here has eaten their fill." I grab 2 apples and eat them, then rinse them down with cider.
I refuse to eat.
"I tire of waiting." I stand up and leave the table heading back upstairs and to Seifer's door. I bang on Seifer's door firmly "Get up, breakfast is ready and everyone is waiting for you!"
I roll over in bed and continue to attempt to sleep like I've been trying to do since the first 'wake up call.'
I attempt to kick the door in.
the door is in.
I say louder this time into the open door "It's time to get up, we are all waiting on you!" I proceed to walk back downstairs and sit back down in my previous chair.
"Damnit Roland!! Fine, I'm getting up! Put my door back so I can change!" I roll up into a ball in my covers staring at where the door should be. Some cards shift upon the bed while others fall to the floor as I move around. I swear I'm going to kill him...
"Nice work Roland." After finishing my meal, I stand, stretch, and ready myself and my equipment. I turn and ask everyone, "Any last second preparations that need to be made? If not, we'll be heading out this instant."
I shout up the stairs "I am not coming back up there to fix your door. If you die on the battlefield, I see you naked when I strip your gear, so hurry up!"
I chuckle and relax a little. "she's always such a handful. Ever since the first time she gave me hell when I was on gate duty the first time she visited the golden northern city with her trade caravan."
I give Seifer 3 minutes to collect herself, despite the nearly visible steam billowing from my ears.
Gregory's gaze lowers towards roland, and he scowls. "If i see you strip the clothing from her body i'll be stripping you out of your armor and treat you like a neatly packaged meal. her equipment is fine but leave her with her dignity. I can handle the disrespect towards my person, i'm used to it, but you will treat her with respect in life and death."
He turns to his freshly baked meal the biscuits tasting like ash in his mouth as he chomps away without being able to enjoy it. He drinks his drinks, and crosses his arm's sitting up keeping an eye on Roland. "I'm ready to leave when needed Annete."
I get up, change into my days clothes behind my bed, don my armor, pick up my cards, incessantly brush my hair for about 5 minutes, grab the rest of my gear, and walk downstairs. "I hope you know I'm going to kill you, Roland."
"Alright. It's about time you're up Seifer. Now we depart. We're heading north-northeast until we come across the ruins." I step outside and begin moving in the stated direction.
"I'm sorry some of us actually care about looking good and resting well. Anyway Anette," I say as I grab her collar to stop her from walking off, "You're all being so rude to me and we're still missing one. Where is Kel? And why am I the only one being forced to wake up?"
His mood lightens up and he turns to seifer. "Well some of us don't get much use from beauty sleep, and some of us can't get beauty sleep for the personality"
"Oh, my bad Seifer, I forgot people like you actually have to TRY to look good in the morning." I brush her hand off my collar whilst flipping my hair with a tint of narcissism. "We're not being rude to you either; I think we all can agree the most respectable thing to do would be to, uh, wake up on time and be ready for the mission."
"You call that looking good, I can see why you've never had a boyfriend and I was engaged." I giggle and then motion back upstairs. "Stay here I'm going to go retrieve him, I don't suggest attempting to leave without me, it won't end well." I add hinting to the other two in the room.
"I don't waste my time beguiling idiots. How much longer are we going to wait, by the way?!" , I shout as she marches back upstairs. I pull out a mirror just to double-check my countenance, and with a smirk, return it to its place.
Gregory watches the two of them have their quarrel and knows that he really has no place to talk being unsightly to most people at first second and often third glance. "Well we can't really leave someone behind Anette"
I walk over to the door and wait. Ignoring everything the Dragon said.
I walk up and attempt to open Kel's door to wake him up.
the door is locked. you hear some kind of movement behind the door.
I knock on the door, "Kel, it's time to go, even I'm awake, let's get a move on."
after you speak, the sound of movement stops. after a short pause, you're sure there is no response.
He grabs a large handful of the rest of the biscuits, and puts the platter with a good amount of them still there by the bar reiterating to the barmaid that they are to be given away to those that look hungry without charge. he did pay for them after all. He steps through the door and waits outside enjoying the morning weather whatever that may be like.
I block the dragon from going outside. I say to him in a very stern tone. "As much as I don't like you, and as much as I hope you hate me. If we were to get into a fight which ends in the honor of dying a warrior's death. I will have you know that the living one will be in a far greater hell then the one who has died is sent to. Seifer is a storm that even hell cannot compare to. I would keep that in mind if I were you." I then step to the side, letting him through the door without impeding any more.
