The Razor Coast has drawn men to madness and slaughter since the world was young. Tulita natives, born from the same fire as this jagged coast, claim the Razor existed long before the world’s other lands. It is a crucible of flame cooled by the ocean’s caress and its mountains, reefs, and lightless depths teem with as many terrors as lustrous spoils. The Razor bucks the trappings of civilization in much the same manner the storm-tossed sea spurns the men who dare mount her. This is no place for the weak-willed. I've never been a solider, but this is certainly the truth.

I like to do things through majority votes, either implied or directly.

For instance, right now- Adriel, Bri, and Astri don't want him to be untied. Majority vote, he stays tied up. It's good we have 5 people.

But, if we're gonna do the "split everything" method treasure wise, and no one else cares to be a privateer/pirate.

Is Sorrin hiring folks and buying ships himself, then hiring out services to the others of the group? I'm not so concerned with the money as the nature of the ongoing relationship.

When he hires someone, he genuinely cares for their welfare, safety, betterment. He's a warrior/leader... Irrespective of Charisma score. At least the original three characters don't seem to care about others, really.

So entrusting them with employees (extended family) is very difficult.

Adriel is around to make money and bang hot chicks (kidding).
Being an Ass he expects and equal share of the veture and as he understands it the PARTY is buying the boat together and Sorrin can get lost if he thinks he is in charge.

Adriel is a soldier for hire and Sorrin is the newcomer, so If no one objects Adriel won't mind sharing expenses, but it is the GROUP who decides the jobs the ship and crew takes on.

Equal costs, equal split.

The group hasn't decided what they want to do with ship with: pirate, privateer, freelance adventurer, trader, slave boat, or what not. All indications so far is no slave boat, but no decisions have been made to my knowledge.

Normal party rules apply- we split the lootz, whatever gives the greatest advantage to a character should go to that character, multiple people wanting the same item should be settled by dice roll.

I would like to purchase ships/hire people as a party. From a player perspective Sorrin is doing the right thing, and I like it. You're gathering up important people and npcs that will be very useful on a ship. Astrianna is not so quick to care or trust however. This can bite her in the ass sometimes (see the old tulita man, it would be much easier to talk to him had Astri and Adriel intervened in the conflict) but that's just how she is.

She doesn't appear to care much about anyone because she's only known them for a day or two. Adriel and Bri on the other hand- she trusts them, enjoys their company, and considers them friends, and spent time as crew with them. She will go far out of her way for those two.

As for a ship, I know Sorrin is set on a warship but I'm in line with Embrianna. As a player I would like to do some freelance adventuring/exploring, and so would Astrianna- it's her modus operandi and why she came to the Razor in the first place.

The Baron of the Tides seems a perfect ship for this due to its speed and being made out of frickin' darkwood. I believe that with some promises, a generous down payment, perhaps a Dragoon officer on board to make sure we don't steal the thing, and busting up the dragonsmoke smuggling, Astrianna might be able to talk Commander Boneduece into letting us rent the ship until we can pay off the full price. If we even want to get a ship now. There is still plenty to do on land. (Sewers, dragonsmoke smugglers, etc)

I want to point out she will insist on being official Captain of the Baron of the Tides though, due to A) a lack of leadership skills from everyone else and B) She loathes taking orders and rigid command structures. While she would be the official Captain and the face of the ship, in reality all officers will have power aboard the vessel and votes will be taken on major courses of action. So essentially the group runs the ship, Astrianna just has to deal with the paperwork and responsibilities of being Captain for better or worse. If we go this route I will start grooming her to be an effective ship Captain.

Embri if you can think of a better position I'm all for it. I think Embri would make a good second mate but if I'm going to negotiate the rent of Baron of the Tides I'll have to throw in the offer to make a Dragoon an officer aboard the ship to reflect Boneduece's interests, and second mate seems generous to me.

I think Captain, etc... etc... should all be NPCs.

Sorrin is looking to buy boats and appoint/hire captains & crew. He's not limiting himself to a single ship, he's building a fleet (various ship classes, under one flag - The Osprey). He may also invest in ships (with like minded individuals - no drugs, no slaving, no evil, etc...) so they fly The Osprey.

Bound by agreements to lend assistance. You don't mess with The Rita because she flies The Osprey... and you know The Thunderstrike with her new guns flies the same flag. Maybe they're both owned by him, the group, whatever... Or maybe they're not, but have an alliance, federation, confederacy.

He's happy to adventure with you all.

Oh that's a really cool idea. We might be able to do something like that in the future, but the idea seems a bit out of reach for our current wealth and level though. Some adventuring might clear that up. Adventuring in Baron of the Tides of course...
