Cluebat!

Andrea remembers the opera and hurries to talk to Fiosa about going. We should get dressed in something nice, those dresses we bought for the Missepe party, and you can wear your new heels.

Andrea gets dressed along with Fiosa and travels with her to the opera house, hoping to get good seats so they get a good view of Orsin's performance.

LOL, Orsin would have to use one of his silence spells from his wand to keep you and dwarf from squeaking.

At some point (in time for Orsin's last performance), Lucrezia would have gone to Andrea and Fiosa. "Andrea, Fiosa, I had a question I hoped that ya'll could answer for me. I've been thinking about catching one of Orsin's shows, but I'm not real certain what'd be ok for me to wear to an opera without embarrassing myself. Got any advice you could give me?"

Are weapons allowed at performances?
And if they also suggest that she too wear what she wore to the Missepe house, she will and just hide a few daggers on on her person.

Well we have those dresses we had at the Missepe party, I believe they would do just fine. Since we don't mingle that often, we can get by with not havign so many dresses.

Evil GM

Orsin you actually see Andrea, Lucrezia and Fiosa in a second floor balcony right before the performance. It is a a packed house, the best of the run as word about your recent a wonderful performance has gotten out.

You can make another performance check for this grand finale.

Male human bard 7/pathfinder savant 5: 83/83 hp, Init +2, AC 24 [touch 14, flat-footed 23], Fort +10, Ref +12, Will +11; Perception +5

Oh god, because you've told me to make a new check, it's going to go horribly, horribly wrong.

Given the size of the house and the splendor of a final performance, Orsin casts heroism before each of his arias, granting him a +2 bonus to the skill check.

Perform (sing): 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 + 2 = 25

Oh, okay, not bad at all.

Orsin's voice soars across the spacious theatre, at times as bright and pure as crystal, at others as cutting as a silvered dagger. The audience hangs on each gesture, holding their breaths with each long, sustained pitch...only to collectively sigh as the musical line transforms into a dizzying display of vocal pyrotechnics.

Belial's grand exit from Asmodeus' feast culminates in a fiery explosion coupled with a trap door built into the stage and the crowd goes wild.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea has never been to an opera before and looks around her with great interest. As the performance starts, Andrea is enraptured with Orsin's performance, her hand grasping Fiosa's as she is almost moved to tears from the passion behind the bard's performance.

When Orsin vanishes in the explosion, Andrea surges to her feet with the audiance and claps wildly, a passionate cheer on her lips as she praises Orsin to the heavens.

Female Human Tian, NPC

Amaya is one the first to leap on her feet to clap and cheer. Followed quickly by others. "Bravo, bravo" as roses are tossed to stage. There are a few articles of clothing thrown too.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Fiosa! Did you just throw your garter out there?

Female NPC, Halfling

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I did not...I'm not close enough."

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Oh you frisky girl, you would have thrown it wouldn't you? Andrea smooches her naughty girl and applauds when Orsin comes out for the encore.

Male human bard 7/pathfinder savant 5: 83/83 hp, Init +2, AC 24 [touch 14, flat-footed 23], Fort +10, Ref +12, Will +11; Perception +5

After final curtain, Orsin returns to his dressing room, depositing the bundle of roses and garments on to the feinting couch.

He quickly changes clothes in case his fellows in the Brotherhood decide to pay him a visit backstage. The Belial costume is cumbersome and the make-up, though well suited for the stage, looks gaudy and effete in person.

I don't think I've ever given a show with that many people I know in the audience...I don't think I've ever known this many people. And was that Ailyn I saw sitting with Janiven and Amaya?

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

When the curtain falls for the last time, Andres gets up and along with Fiosa and Lucrezia, heads down for the after opera party in the lobby and side rooms. She looks around for Orsin, hoping to see him amongst the other guests.

Evil GM

Andrea it takes quite some time to get from your seats to downstairs, even longer to get through the crows and locate the back stage area. There are a few stage hands and security preventing access..."The actors need time to change and unwind a bit." he explains.

roll a perception check

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea nods and turns to the others. Let us get a few drinks and wait in the lobby for a bit for Orsin, No doubt he will need some time to get rid of all that make-up.

Andrea will enjoy the drinks and snacks while waiting for their friend.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Evil GM

Orsin there are three dozen red roses on your dressing table near the flute and the black roses.

Evil GM

Too crowded of location to see Arael and the others.

Male human bard 7/pathfinder savant 5: 83/83 hp, Init +2, AC 24 [touch 14, flat-footed 23], Fort +10, Ref +12, Will +11; Perception +5

Orsin beholds the red roses with smug satisfaction. 'Belial is sooo last season'. Psh, hardly. I bet Thelsing would have killed for this role. Orsin finishes changing and gathers his flowers, he secrets the flute on his person.

When he enters the lobby, he gives out a single rose to each of his admirers.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea will be in the main lobby with the others when Orsin arrives. Hopefully he has a few roses left...

Evil GM

Orsin Only:
You hear the flute begin to play a beautiful song when you pick it up and you have an urge to begin to dance and play the flute which are the only things you want to do right now. The sound is so wonderful. This is no little foot tapping dancing either, your whole body is moving.

Everyone can hold off posting actions with Orsin, he is not there yet.

Andrea and Lucrezia can make a perception check to see if they spot Arael and the others.

Male human bard 7/pathfinder savant 5: 83/83 hp, Init +2, AC 24 [touch 14, flat-footed 23], Fort +10, Ref +12, Will +11; Perception +5

DM Only:
So, I realized that I don't start posting until a couple, sometimes several, hours after the rest of the group and with Orsin in a high tension moment, I'd figure the following information might help move things along in my absence:

-If the Will save is successful and he is able to resist the magic, Orsin will grab for his longsword (kept on the feinting couch) and try to destroy the flute.

CMB vs. object's AC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

(Keep in mind that the flute is, presumably, inanimate and thus suffers a -5 penalty to its AC from lack of Dex as well as an additional -2 to AC.)

Weapon damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7 This sum gets a +8 or a +11, if I can add my Power Attack damage.

Wood has hardness 5, and 10 hp per inch of thickness.

He also uses a free action to call for help if he can.

-If the flute allows him the use of his voice or any other kind of free action, he'll call out for help.

-If no one responds to his calls for help, he'll try reaching for his scroll of horn of pursuit and will activate it (if possible), sending out a distress call audible within a mile's radius.

-If he's totally at the flute's mercy, well, then there isn't much he can do.

Evil GM

Andrea you see Arael, Janiven, Amaya and speaking with lady in the lobby apparently waiting for Orsin as well.

Evil GM

Orsin:
After about 30 seconds of continuous dancing and enjoyment you muster up enough Will to try to put the flute down, and to briefly think about drawing your longsword, but the the pleasure of the dance is flowing through those theatrical legs. You continue to dance and prance in your dressing room with the flute held tight.

Female Human Tian, NPC

Amaya waves over at Fiosa and the others. She has huge smile on her face. "Wasn't that the best Opera you Ever heard, his voice was So crisp and strong.

"It sounded like he reached down deep into his soul to pull off that last second G below middle C...my heart nearly stopped." she stops and takes a quick breath , "all the emotion, the power..."her face flushes.

Female Human Tian, NPC

Amaya looks at Lucrezia, "Hello I'm Amaya did you enjoy that opera...I just thought it was fantastic."

Male NPC, Human Warrior1, Fighter1

Yelling over he clanking, "Can't imagine a sound better than hammer bending steel, pure music to a man's ears." As he pours a scoop of warm water over his head to cool himself down. "Perhaps we can all bellow out a classic battle march to the beat of the hammer...now on second thought that'll make it better." With that he starts to hum out loud.

John your mentor trains you exceptionally hard over the three weeks that you have down time. Working your muscles and more importantly your mind in realizing weaknesses.

You find that Maurice, Kenswick and Swift have all taken up lessons. All are thankful that your group managed to get the debt wiped out thus providing them with the resources for. Soon the other members of that squad follow suit in the third week. The renewed dedication of the dottari is a welcome addition for your mentor.

The other performers have made their way out to the crowd and are mingling but Orsin has not appeared.

A few ladies in the crowd can be overheard saying "I'm looking for to his entrance."

A gentleman responds, "Typical flamboyant performer keeping us waiting. Get on with it already."

Evil GM

Meanwhile back in the dressing room:

Orsin:
You have just thought of a new dance move involving spinning then stamping your foot with perfect timing. As you repeat this action over and over and over. I really need to add this move to my next performance.

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Finally awake

Andrea nods at Amaya's words. Orsin was absolutly breath-taking indeed. I have never been to an opera but this really makes me wonder what I have been missing, and I think I will most certanly be checking out next season.

Andrea looks around and she hears the comments about Orsin not appearing. Hmm.. Orsin is taking his time. I guess we could inquire if someone could go looking for him.

Andrea heads over to one of the staff guarding the way to the dressing rooms.

Pardon me, will Orsin Bessatte be joining us soon? We have been wondering if he has been unavoidably delayed. A number of his fans would really like to see him before they need to leave, would it be to much for someone to knock on his door?

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Evil GM

One of the ushers would state, "Yes, it is taking him awhile, I'll go check on him." She disappears down a long side hallway.

---
About a minute later she reappears, "He seems to be dancing and playing flute. No regard for anything else...catchy tune."

She continues to say, "He may be awhile by the looks of things."

---
Some of his fans begin to mutter and leave the lobby, "Arrogant ...no regard for his fans"

"Not like he is well known anyway!" a gentleman mumbles, "Come honey lets leave."

---

Orsin:
Just as you see an usher polk her head through your doorway, you decide to add some prancing to the spine move and tapping of the feet. You can make another Will Save now.

Female Human Tian, NPC

"That is odd, we looked right at us before the show."

Fire Resist 10 Human Cleric 6,HP 40/40,Init+5F6R4W9,Per10AC18/11/17

Andrea gets a suspicous look on her face. Dancing and playing the flute? Andrea turns to the others. Ladies, I think we will need to investigate this. Amaya, would you be able to distract the usher so Lucrezia and I can slip in?

Assuming she can, Andrea casts Invisibility on herself and heads down the hall towards Orin's dressing room.

Female Half Elf Urban Ranger / 7 and Wizard / 1 and Arcane Archer / 1 -- Perception: +18 in urban, +21 traps (otherwise +16) -- Init: +4 -- HP:49/59 -- AC: 23(Touch:15 / FF:19) -- F:7, R:11, W:5 +2vs enchants

A bit confused at Orsin's reported behavior, Lucrezia will follow Andreas lead and attempt to head down the hallway to the dressing rooms if Amaya can distract the usher.

Stealth if needed 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

Female Human Tian, NPC

Amaya gets the usher's attention chatting about the performance.

Diplo: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13

She does manage to distract her long enough for the others to slip by.

Evil GM

John heads down to "Quint's Arms and Armor" the location he previously met the Rusty Harbin's brash group, the same half-elf sales girl is there to render assistance. "Oh you are back so soon, how can I help you today."

Roll a fame check.

Evil GM

Larko drops into Gruum's shop and asks Duncan to stop by the safe house late this afternoon for supper and conversation.

Orsin:
You can finally remove the flute from your mouth but you continue to prance and dance frantically, not able to stop. However, you are still holding the flute and have no desire to place that fabulous wind instrument down. Amazingly it is still playing!
