From A, 15 Daniel doesn't see much around that corner with his LOS. Gerard notices the spikes ended, so he drops down and tumbles to avoid the spike edge, and takes up a position. He sees a little bit further than where Daniel's POV.

I shows 76 damage? The sixth "attack" is a critical confirmation, there shouldn't be a separate damage from confirming a critical should there? Also that means I've done 132 damage to the barbed devil.

You didn't have it listed as confirmed crit roll that is where the confusion lays, so you have taken only 76 HP of damage. You've done quite a bit less HP of damage to the creature with it's DR.

He is no longer using vital strike. At least the 18 is not a crit, he needed a 19.

The first attack hits for 27 points of damage and barely misses the grab which would have caused impaling damage.

There has been talk but no definitive action declared by Euphemia. She goes before Eccarddian. I'm just being sensitive to the fact that this can be a deadly battle, so I'm tyring to keep the order of actions relatively tight and without DMPCs (if I can)

Here is my suggestion: Euphemia pull back with Andrea to the entrance so we can support Aurelio and go out against the devil. Daniel gets Gerard and follows us.

Euphemia and Andrea fly outside to see where Daniel is located. When you get there you observe the fighter who is bleeding freely form many wicked wounds. He seems have withdrawn. There is creature, who you suspect is Mel, that is covered from tip of its lashing tail to the serrated features of its fang-filled visage, this fiery-eyed sentinel bristles with barbs.

Ths creature is SR, so make those check when casting a spell at him.

He is using one of the three uses of the puncturing feature that makes it a TA.

The sneak attack won't effect you. Total damage: 29 HP, 4 Constitution points so that will effect your HP totals. This should be a -2 on your ability score and thus another 26 HP of damage and - 2 on Fort save.

Daniel you hear Gerard grunt in pain, and as you peer around the corner you notice an area of in front of Gerard that contains an overwhelming aura of evil. (He is not twice your HD so you are not stunned) The creature is invisible.

Constitution Damage:

For every 2 points of damage you take to a single ability, apply a –1 penalty to skills and statistics listed with the relevant ability. If the amount of ability damage you have taken equals or exceeds your ability score, you immediately fall unconscious until the damage is less than your ability score. The only exception to this is your Constitution score. If the damage to your Constitution is equal to or greater than your Constitution score, you die. Unless otherwise noted, damage to your ability scores is healed at the rate of 1 per day to each ability score that has been damaged. Ability damage can be healed through the use of spells, such as lesser restoration.

Constitution: Damage to your Constitution score causes you to take penalties on your Fortitude saving throws. In addition, multiply your total Hit Dice by this penalty and subtract that amount from your current and total hit points. Lost hit points are restored when the damage to your Constitution is healed. A character with a Constitution score of 0 is dead.

EDIT: I erred he has invisibility, not greater invisbility, so Eccarrdian is now visible to Gerard and Daniel.

Oops Aurelio RD 3 action was that he retreated to C, 5 inside the doorway. So Phem and Andrea would be behind Aurelio. it doesn't make a difference with Andrea's action. I'll fix the map when i get home.

Andrea's knowlege Check DC 19:
it's barbed devil, probably a powerful one from the looks of him. It's claw attacks are wicked. they are deadly melee combatants and hitting the creature can cause you lots of barbed damage due to it's barbed defenses. It impales if it grabs you for even more damage and has a fear aura. You think it may be spell resistant. It can greater teleport at will. Your big concern is this was not summoned but called or brought through the well of worlds. That means it could have its summoning abilities.

Andrea and Phem actually need to make will save when looking outside.

That is a powerful barbed devil! It can injure those who strike it in melee from it's sharp barbs.Aurelio, did you try attacking it? It can resist spells and It could have come through the Well of Worlds and can summon other's of it's kind. Let us retreat back to Daniel.

This is a tentative post please. I hate to post AHEAD of Gerard but I cannot post for 16 more hours. I AM ASSUMING GERARD tumbles to flank as is his normal tactics! With his bonuses he is pretty much an Auto pass. Feel free to change my action if needed

With his main Objective to save Westcrown in front of him, Daniel had to act. Withdrawing now would invite more harm on Gerard. Daniel needed to Kill eccardian
His target appeared to be flying like Daniel so tripping was not an option. He needed to die. He uses his POWERFUL JUSTICE as a Free Action to grant both himself and Gerard smite damage and a Swift Action to learn IMPROVED DISARM. Eccardian would not be as dangerous without that sword!

Blessing of the Watch BONUS ATTACK, Powerful Justice, Flank, Improved Disarm Full Attack: 1d20 + 23 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 23 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 32

If the first attack beat his CMD then the remaining attacks are to damage. If the first disarm failed, then try again to disarm

A crit threat. If the first attack failed to beat CMD, then the second DEFINITELY disarmed him. If the first attempt did work, The the second is a crit. Rolling to confirm:

The first attack misses his CMD. The second attack hs the weapon slip from his hand but the weapon cord around his wrist keeps it from fall far. He'll be able to retrieve it with a move action.

So the weapon is dangling with a cord.

i mentioned he was flying earlier so you didn't waste an attack trying to rip someone who you would have known could not be tripped.

I'll DMPC Gerard if he doesn't log on soon.

Before Daniel steps up to try his disarm Gerard tumbles to get behind Eccarrdian. He takes 5 bleed damage from his wound.

tumble: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (7) + 30 = 37

He fails to get through Eccardian's square. Daniel no flanking.

Gerard provokes an Aoo from Eccardian activating the puncturing feature

rapier of punctuting, Icrit, TA: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24;damage improved vital: 3d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 6, 5) + 10 = 25;sneak: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 5, 2) = 15 plus 5 bleed

constitution damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

He takes another 25 HP of damage plus his constitituion is reduced by another 5 pts (2 ability pts), which is another 26 HP. If my math is correct Gerard is down 106 HP and 5 bleed.

Gerard slumps to the ground motionless.

Since Gerard is slumped to the ground Daniel you can hover over top him and I'll apply your rolls without the flanking bonus.

The circle around Gerard shows he is incapacitated, Daniel is basically hovering over top Gerard but this is a tight area. I should have had you squeeze last round.
