This is Council of Thieves AP. Westcrown, City of Twilight, once was the center of Aroden's faith, but now it symbolizes despair. By day, the city remains a vibrant center of trade; but, by night only those with a death wish venture out.

Has anyone played Kingmaker? That the RL campaign I'm GM'ing. There is one part with a quickling and that creature is having a fantastic time crucifying a party of six. Totally has the party stumped, divided and injured.

Also, Does Areal know Andrea's background or did Janiven do it without his knowledge? I suspect he would have words with her if he ever found out.

Andrea and Duncan were Janiven's recruitment.
Shinon, Kenji and John were Arael's recruitment.

Out of character, my big concern with your character's concept during the slection process was her God. I tweaked a few things in the campaign to avoid some potential conflict. Fiosa was suppose to be LG and an aspiring Iomedea disciple. I modified her so there would not be a huge aligment issue between the two of you. Opposites do attract. There is still a diety challenge but not nearly as much as Iomedea would have had with your diety.

Frpm Arael's point of view, I've changed him a bit too. More NG rather than LG. Your character has tended towards Good, so it has not been a big issue either. He has primary goal and that is his primary focus.

It was, also, why I asked questions about being "N". In my experience when a player tries to pick "N" they are often try to use it as an I can do just about anything card. During my table top game, we don't permit true 'N". I will say you have played it perfectly and I have no problems. Your character has her private kinks, which are fine especially since she puts the party.

I'm just glad we don't have any tieflings in the group. Though it would be pretty funny to read page after page of Arael spouting racist crap at the party.

Totally off topic question but does anyone have an author or two they really like (fantasy, sword/sorcerer, some fantasy based horror.) I read a novel roughly every week and I'm looking for new material to digest. There is a new Paul Kemp novel coming out next week and Brent Weeks has one in September. I like both of their material.

Male Human(Minkakian) Martial Artist lvl 2 (Int +4) (AC17)

Romance of the three Kingdoms by Luo GuanZhong is an epic story.

Tough read cause it is translated and there are A LOT of names in it. It is an epic semi fictional war story of the warring states era in Chinese history. Spawned a lot of games, movies, and even a TV series.

Not a complete fantasy story but there is a good amount of exciting fictional duels in it and epic tales of combat prowess. Lots of brilliant military tactics and so on. I really enjoyed reading it.

I vote for Andrea preparing entropic shield. Won't do us any good if our healer gets splattered by arrows.

Only 2 minutes, but it can help. Best cast when combat is kicked right off.

Also from Advanced Player's Guide/Ultimate magic

Ray of Sickening(Make target sickened)
Murderous Command:Target assults ally for one round
Know they Enemy: +10 Knowledge check on creature, but you must have encountered it before
Ghostbane Dirge: Attempt to make one incorprable target vulnerable to
normal and magic weapons

Of course I only have 3 1st level spells, so we must choose wisely. We do have a good number of CLW potions

Continuity is great. Salvatore has written about 20+ books on drizzit and his companions.
I think 'The halflings gem is the first.'

I've read all of Salvatore's material up through the first 4E setting. His books actually rekindled my gaming interest.

Jonathan Mabery is good. Most of his Joe Ledger Novels were entertaining (modern day special forces vs zombie/evil scientist).

David Gemmell is excellent.

Ray of sickening would be very useful, as the sickened condition instills a -2 penalty on weapon damage rolls.

Murderous Command would be hilarious to see, though I think it would confuse the hell out of both groups. Shinon and Duncan would think the guy was rebelling against Henk, Henk would think the same thing, and then the poor guy would turn around and attack us again next round. Crazy.

I guess I will chime in on all the ooc spell suggestions. My problem is to me this is constitutes metagaming. There is no way Shinon knows of these spells, they are not on the ranger spell list nor would he have knowingly encountered these spells. I know, I can be guilty of providing extra information out of character in the dicussion thread but lets try to limit this type of information.

Forgot to mention a HOUSE RULE that I have: Natural 1's, there is chance the weapon slips out of your hand if it's melee or a thrown weapon or breaks the string on bow/crossbow. The save for DEX based: DC10 add your Dex modifier to the roll.

It has not happened to anyone yet, except Ermolos and he made the save.

Actually ranged combatants typically do pretty well since they are dex based and add their modifier to the roll. Granted they need to replace a string as opposed to drawing a second melee weapon.

I have PFS and then doing other things after so I will probably not be posting until tomorrow. For the rest of combat John will just continue attacking the grub with two hands on his sword and power attacking, though I think I might have already killed it.
