Taking a step forward, she reaches down to grab the mage's hand..

Eventually, the bedraggled necromancer wakes up. He sees you, then glares nastily. Feeling himself bound, though, he knows that he is otherwise helpless.

He can't pass the Sense Motive so...

Upon hearing Shilyn's words, he shrieks out madly. "No, don't kill me! Crove! This was all Crove's fault! Wait... do you hear that? It's coming... IT'S COMING!"

He starts rocking in his spot, mumbling, "Kill me before it gets me!"

Owai asks his questions, head glowing with righteousness. "I don't know, it was supposed to grant us knowledge of magic from the stars beyond, intelligences far greater than these puny wretches. But no.... it comes for us... IT COMES!!!", Myre shouting, spittle foaming from his mouth before he starts rocking again.

"Kill me before it gets me..."

Owai scowls at Myre and then turns to his fellow Pathfinders, speaking low so the Necromancer can't hear them deliberate. "Well, what do we do with him? We can't let the creature, whatever it is, have him, and I don't think any prison in Carrion Hill could protect him." he says helplessly.

Sheathing her sword, Shilyn pulls an apple from her pack and takes a bite. "Well, he is a necromancer," she says around a mouthful, "I say we give him his wish. You do remember those bodies in that one chamber where we found the book, right?"

Taking another bite, she concludes "Would you want something ripping out of him while we drag him to the mayor? Not good."

He looks somewhat exasperated at Shilyn's comment, but does not deign to respond. Something ripping out of him! Hmph.

If he does prove to be bait, it will call the creature there where it will wreak too much havoc... And we have no idea what we will be facing if it comes at us... Can we defeat such a monstrosity ourselves? There's only one way of knowing... I suggest we take the prisoner with us as we seek out the next 'target' on our list... if the monster shows up, if we kill it, perhaps Myre survives to pay for his crimes. If it kills us, it will most likely kill him too, so it's to his advantage to tell us everything he can of the creature in advance."

Mahasi meditates for a bit. "If you recall, the book we found claimed that ending the lives of the conjurors is a way to "deny" their souls - their power - to the summoned creature." The Vudrani shrugs. "So we should probably kill at least some of them. At least if they die by our hands, they will have a chance to redeem themselves in their next life."

He pauses, considering things some more. "However, if I were an Asura or madman writing a tome of magic, I would fill it with lies. Perhaps there is some other way to deny their soul energy."

Thanks for your patience! I'm back and ready to PbP!

Heading east, the party has no trouble finding their way to Crove's asylum other than the crowds of people still trying to escape potential destruction in Carrion Hill. Another two homes have been destroyed, luckily abandoned before the rampage, but the panic in the city is at a boiling point.

Arriving at Crove Asylum, it is unusual in that this is a building made of pure stone, unlike the middenstone common throughout town. No windows are visible in the structure, but the front door is slightly ajar, beckoning your entrance.
