Ryzern:
The models of construct firing upon you are Clockwork Huntsman. Originally designed for hunting/tracking they were meant to be paired with a canine model and built around catching prey alive. While quite capable of advanced tactics, which are impressive even in this day and age, their general fragility and lack of versatility made them a poor sell and thus the model was scrapped.

You heard rumors that the project was picked back up under the idea of utilizing constructs to battle back against the plague beasts. Instead of being armed with a longsword and net launcher this model was to be armed with a powerful crossbow and an incendiary launcher.

To your knowledge nothing ever came of it.

The group moves in splitting their forces and looking to get to cover. Despite taking significant damage from Aiseilura's twin blades the construct vaults back withdraws and away as two more constructs emerge from hiding and form up with the other two. Lining up their shots they unleash a hail of crossbow fire upon the tiefling only saved by quick reactions and good quality armor 4 damage.

The construct being assailed by the earth elemental makes a solid retreat withdraws away from the elemental looking to regroup with the others.

When the moment seems right, she rushes forward, pouncing like a great cat.

Yeah going to pay better attention about "where" the coordinates sit next time.

As two of their brothers fall the constructs back up and rapidly shift into a firing line. Presenting their chests they open up to reveal a small cannon. With a rapid staccatto of soft thumping noises glass spheres launch from them attempting to catch Lienhol and Brittiri in triple chemical explosions. One falls short of its intended target and splashes harmlessly on the tiefling warlord.

Miraculously the fire washes across Lienhol with little effect beyond some singed hairs. Seeing an opportunity to pin in the enemy he gives pursuit and takes up a threatening stance, practically looming over the constructs.

Swift Action to use Tactical Rush to move to (-H, 4). Full Round action to enter Defensive Focus. Threatened area is 10 ft., CMD is 20 for the purpose of people using Acrobatics to leave my threatened squares. Recovering Strike of the Infinite Protector.

As the group harries and corners there foes the constructs seem to have no choice but to lash out with their heavy arms and smash into their oes. As Aiseilura pounces on one she overextends her reach as the momentum of her charge carries her directly into the fist of her foe 10 damage. Lienhol menaces the three of them threatening harm should they attempt escape. For his efforts the construct uses its mechanical strength directly into the Samsaran's distinctly organic gut. 10 damage. The earth elemental too s not without taking punishment as wood and metal take a sizable chunk out of stone and dirt. 6 damage

While the mistake was her own, the pain of taking a blow from a mechanical fist infuriates Aiseilura. She let's out a bestial roar before continuing her assault.
Swift action, initiate Encouraging Roar. All allies within 30 feet gain a +2 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls for one round. Looks like this hits everyone but Ryzern.
Free action, activate Power Attack.
Full attack action, attack the enemy in (-G,5). If she fells that one and still has attacks left, she'll move on to (-G,4).

Lienhol heavily damages the one in front of him as the duo of earth adn zealot tears one of the constructs into pieces giving a bright flash and a small gout of flame as one of the alchemical salvos burst into flames.


Brittiri shifts his footing, and uses his new position to unleash a flurry of savage strikes against the closes foe. Switch to pugilist stance

Brittiri is unable to get his blades to find purchase. Unable or incapable of surrendering the remaining two hunstman shift away from the bulk of the party's meaty center line. Giving Lienhol and Aiselura passing blows the Dreadguard manage too absorb the brunt of the blow on his armor whilst the tiefling takes the brunt of it into her ribs9 damage.

Aiseilura examines her wounds, wincing as the adrenaline rush fades and pain assaults her full force.

"More immediately, though, can I get a bit more healing, Caun? That would be... helpful."

Ryzern retrieves the torch he threw into the room earlier.

"Well that was unpleasant."

Turning away from the group he address the ceiling and corners of the room.

"Well? You have seen us break your expensive toys. Do we need to continue this farce or will you open your dammed door?"

Not expecting a response Ryzern extinguishes one of the torches and looks to the remains of the metal men.

Any parts to salvage? Anything in the back of the room we might have missed due to toy intervention?


Brittiri offers a sullen grunt as the combat ends, nodding at Ryzern's comment about things being unpleasant. The gnome errant scratches a cheek as he looks around, I assume there is a key or something in here too then eh?

Caun directs the Earth Elemental to help search the room, before bringing out a wand of CLW, nodding to Aiseilura, he makes use of it to mend some of the Tieflings wounds.

Finishing with that, Caun joins the Earth Elemental in it's search, beginning to walk the length of the room, looking for anything off, also taking a quick glance through some of the remains.
It had 4 minutes total so figure searching around for a few minutes before it burns up the remaining time.

It takes some time as rummaging through the constructs turns up nothing in the way of a key. Ryzern can manage to salvage about 40 crosssbow bolts and 7 alchemists fire from the wreckage.

However a glint in the dark catches Caun's eye as he climbs up the top most crate and finds a silvery piece of metal sitting on top of it.

Anyone need bolts? Ryzern asks before discarding them.

Head wreathed in cigar smoke Ryvers hands each of you a fire flask.
"After that display of hand to hand might I doubt you will need these but.....?"

Ryvern pockets the remaining three flasks. He apparently does need them.

Not being greedy, least I don't think so, but you folks are much better at the killing than I am. Still if you want another flask shout out.


"That's two rooms conquered, how many more remain?"

"Four. Assuming our hosts are neither lying nor subject to sweet reason. And assuming that there is a key part here somewhere."

Ryzern looks at the many many crates in the room.

"I suppose we should start opening these." He sighs "I knew I should have grabbed my crowbar today."


"We'll make do." says Lienhol as he hefts his greatsword and uses it as a lever to pop the crates open.


The gnome tasks the flask with a nod but declines the bolts. Upon seeing the dreadguard use his sword to pop a crate the gnome swears out loud and reaches into his bag and produces a 12 inch rod that he clicks and snaps in a variety of manners until he basically has a crowbar in his hands, Don't treat a blade that way. Use this.

Calling down while digging around on top crate.
"Well, they seem persistent so far in seeing us through these foolish tasks, so I doubt we will get off that easily."

Caun retrieves the item he finds before climbing back down to show everyone else.
"I found this on top of those crates up there."
Caun points towards the uppermost crate. Which, after showing it to everyone, he hands it to Ryzern.
"Perhaps you would be best to hold onto this for safe keeping."


Did a post disappear as far as describing what Caun found?

Well there was a post a few up from Tark, about a silvery glint metallic option. Admittedly I just sort of assumed (this is how bad sh*t occurs) it was a key. But it would probably be in our best interest to make sure it is in fact a key. Something Caun isn't really qualified for.

Caun also declined a flask for now. "I have a few of my own."
Apparently I had tunnel vision on the happenings of things.


Ok, no that makes COMPLETE sense. I was just a bit out of it, lol
