Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

Easy, everyone forgot about the level change!

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

In all seriousness, why not? I thought that standing halfway on a staircase would be no big deal for a quadrupedal creature that big. If it is a problem, he'll just do a full move to the exact same spot and just attack once.

Well, Demiarchos is maybe ten feet long shoulder to tail, with his head and neck adding another 5' and giving him reach, and maybe 5' at the shoulder. Those stairs actually start under where Hudak is indicated, so by the time they get to Demiarchos they are already 15' high, rising to 20' at the top. If he has his back legs on the ground, he'd be able to just put his paws on the top of the stairs. To then reach another 10' to 15' and bite Mokmurian, who is well back from the stairs and at 20' maximum height, I think is simply not possible.

On that basis, Demiarchos had better think of something else.

Elisile's arrows hit home. The giant winces in pain.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Going through the anti-gravity zone is out of the question. Can he use his whole movement just to jump up on the stair at AB-AC 8-9? If so, he does that AFTER Alwyn pops off his spell.

He can do that if he succeeds at an Acrobatics check.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Hellhounds are good at Arcrobatics, fortunately.
Demiarchos Acrobatics: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

Who knew?

Demiarchos scrambles up on to the stairs.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Huzzah! So Alwyn blasts Mokmurian, Demiarchos jumps up on the stair and Hudak drinks a potion.

Alwyn Agnarrson wrote:

I could have sworn that hellhounds had Trip. Oh well...

Alwyn casts a blasting spell on the stone giant, then clambers forward.

I'm casting Holy smite on Mokmurian; as I don't want to catch Demiarchos in the blast, the spell is centered in the Y-Z 10-11 intersection 15' above his head. That'll keep the big dog safe. [dice=Damage]5d8, plus blindness; Will save 20 negates the blindness and halves the damage. After casting the spell I move to AB-AC 6-7.

The enchantress casts a spell and the ghostly hand flies up to Hudak, touching him on the shoulder.

Casting fly on the ceiling-stuck fighter. Beyond that, I believe she will keep the pillar between her and Mokmurian.

Did all three arrows hit? Is Elisile able to tell whether the giant seemed at all resistant to any of the damage?

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

Just because this is getting a bit confusing... Camlo's plan is to charge the giant as soon as it's got something bigger to distract it, which I think is the next time my turn comes up.

HP 78/67, AC 26, T 14, FF 23, CMD 21 Performance 37/37 CHA DAMAGE: 5

I'm on hold here for the moment because I expect Camlo to jump in before Illes (which is now). If I'm wrong, tell me to get a move on.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

yeah, just waiting for Aubs to be able to post. He's got at least two combats to be running, and not a lot of free time at the mo from the sounds of things. From past experience, that will grind most of the games to a halt for a bit.

I expect Camlo is going to move now too.

Yeah, I'm OK now.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

The God Emperor returns! Praise be!

OK, first, all of Elisile's arrows hit. As for the DR, a Spellcraft check will probably come in handy.

OK, so next: Mokmurian's saving throw 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21. So Mokmurian takes half. Alwyn needs to clarify the damage. Also, going back to the previous debate, Alwyn's new stated position is 20' up on the platform - is he climbing up there or does he have some magical effect going to get him there?

And after that, Illes and Camlo need to clarify what they are doing.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

Camlo will charge the giant. He's flying, so as high up as possible. I was hoping to get somewhere to flank, but hey ho. Move to AA8

Stealth (just in case): 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (11) + 29 = 40
Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 4 = 31charge, haste, inspire, good hope
DMG: 1d4 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 + 4 = 10 inspire, good hope
Sneak Attack damage: 6d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 2, 5, 2) + 6 = 266 of these are bleed damage

Camlo flies out of cover to catch the giant by surprise, hoping that it will focus it's attacks on the ruddy big beast in front of it if it doesn't go down.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Alwyn will need to climb to get there. That dais is taller than I initially thought, and even though Alwyn is 15' tall now, he'll struggle to climb up there in his platemail. Let's just put him in AD-AE 8-9 instead. As Mokmurian made the save, he only takes 11 hp damage and is not blinded.

hp 87 of 87; effects active: mage armour (AC 22); gravity bow, flame arrow Female Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 6 / Ranger 1 / Eldritch Knight 4

As her arrows hit home, Elisile watches carefully for telltale signs of protective spells. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20

Hard to tell what he's got going in terms of protection.

Perception check 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 39 So close...

Camlo swoops in and the giant fails to spot him until too late. His dagger digs deep and blood spurts over his hand.

With the last words of his song, silence drops over Mokmurian and those closest to him. Illes quickly begins another song and slathers the ground under the giant with a thick layer of grease.

Silence goes into effect.
Those within the area will lose Inspire Courage.

SA: Grease DC 18, Mokmurian's squares
Immediate Action: Badge of Courage to bump inspire courage by 1
Free Action: Maintain Inspire Courage

Allies in Silence: Good Hope +2
Allies outside the Silence: Good Hope +2 and Inspire Courage + 5

Mokmurian's Ref save 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

Mokmurian keeps his feet. He snarls angrily - and silently - and then turns and climbs speedily straight up the wall like a spider.

This provokes AoOs from Camlo and Demiarchos.

Soon he is 50' up and he turns, no longer in the zone of silence. He then casts another spell, this time aimed at Camlo.

He casts Baleful Polymorph on Camlo. DC 21 Fort save or you turn into a mouse. If you fail a subsequent DC 21 Will save, you also begin thinking like a mouse.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

AoO from Demiarchos. Bonuses are from Haste, Good Hope and bardic music; the additional 2d6 damage is fire.
Attack of Opportunity: 1d20 + 20 + 1 + 2 + 4 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 20 + 1 + 2 + 4 + 5 = 41, damage: 2d6 + 12 + 2 + 5 + 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 12 + 2 + 5 + (6, 6) = 38

Cam, +2 on both saves from Good Hope.

I think Demiarchos is in the silence. No inspire courage. He'll still probably hit, but -5 damage.

Elisile's turn.

I'm quite enjoying this - Mokmurian is badass.

HP 78/67, AC 26, T 14, FF 23, CMD 21 Performance 37/37 CHA DAMAGE: 5

And the silence only hurt us. I could grant Camlo a reroll of that save, but only if he could hear the inspire courage.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

But you gained an awesome animal companion. Anyone got some cheese?

On her last turn Elisile five foot stepped to AH-5 – not updated on the map.

From that position, can she see what happened to Camlo? Spellcraft: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31 to work out what Mokmurian did to him.

Is Camlo-as-Mouse still flying? If so, what would a flying mouse do now I wonder?

How high is the dias? Does it appear climbable without going via the stairs?

hp 87 of 87; effects active: mage armour (AC 22); gravity bow, flame arrow Female Elf Wizard (Transmuter) 6 / Ranger 1 / Eldritch Knight 4

Regardless of the answers to the above questions I’m going to assume there’s not a whole lot Elisile can do to help Camlo right at the moment, so …

Elisile unleashes another volley of arrows at the stone giant mage.

Full attack with precise shot, deadly aim, gravity bow, haste, cat’s grace, good hope, inspire courage (+5) and flame arrow.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (20) + 21 = 41 damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (5, 2) + 13 = 20 fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Attack 2: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (6, 4) + 13 = 23 fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3 electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Attack 3 (haste): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25 damage: 2d6 + 13 ⇒ (6, 1) + 13 = 20 fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 electricity damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4

She’ll then 5 foot step back behind the column to AI-5 – so no need to update her position on the map.

EDIT: crit confirm roll for attack 1 (and I’ll add x3 damage for the bow this time - I forgot on the last crit confirm and only factored in x2): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 39 damage: 4d6 + 26 ⇒ (3, 3, 5, 3) + 26 = 40

I'd assume Camlo's equipment just fell to the floor but he, asa mouse is still flying. He's going to dart for the nearest hole in the wall to hide in on his next go.....

HP 78/67, AC 26, T 14, FF 23, CMD 21 Performance 37/37 CHA DAMAGE: 5

Alwyn and Demiarchos are next.

Enchantress 8/Oracle (flame) 1/Hellknight Signifier 2; AC 24, FF 21, T 15, CMD 19; F 8, R 9, W 14; hp 72/72; Init +4; Perc +6; Irresistible Demand 7/8; Effects: Flying disk, Overland Flight

And the now-flying Hudak. I'm thinking a flying charge down the wall at a mage that thinks the fighter is a non-issue. What do you think, hmmm?

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

Aubrey - if I bull rush Mokmurian, will I knock him off the wall?

Possibly.

Elisile fires more arrows at the giant. One takes him high in the chest, making him stagger, but it is not enough to make him fall.

Still waiting for Hudak's killer move.

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

After a lot of pondering, I've ended up with this multi-PC sequence. Here we go.

"Surprise, ugly!" With a bellow, Hudak descends on the wall-climbing wizard like the world's biggest, angriest lawn dart.

I'm bull rushing Mokmurian, with the objective being knocking him off the wall and down to the floor he just left. Then Demiarchos can finish his prone ass off (hopefully). So: Bull Rush CMB check: 1d20 + 19 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 19 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 5 = 37 versus Mokmurian's CMD. Bonuses are Size, Haste, Good Hope and bardic music.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Alwyn casts Dispel magic on mouse-Camlo. It might not restore his mind, but it might return him to halfling form.Dispel check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cleric 11

Pathetic. Sorry, Camlo. Demiarchos' action depends on whether Hudak managed to knock Mokmurian off the wall or not.

Male Halfling Rogue/11 AC:26 HP: 92{92}

"Squeek!"

Thanks for trying, probably best not to worry about Camlo for a bit tho!

Male Human (Shoanti) Fighter 11

CORRECTION: Hudak has the Improved Bull Rush feat, so he gets a +2 bonus to the above result. Thus, his final CMB check result is 39.

Hudak ploughs into Mokmurian, swooping down from the ceiling. He pushes the giant back, but Mokmurian doesn't fall. Instead, he hangs suspended by a spell of flight.

Although he is pushed 10', which puts him at 40' high and in the edge of the zone of Silence. Does Hudak move with him or stay at the point of impact?

Sefayll casts another spell into the hovering hand and it zips up, this time attempting to strike the hovering giant.

Touch of Idiocy; Don't recall if he has spell resistance, but I will roll for it just in case.

Spell Penetration caster level check: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 = 27

Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

No save. If it gets past any Spell Resistance he might have, he takes Damage to each mental stat: 1d6 ⇒ 4
