Elisile Starbrow |
Sorry about the delay, hectic day at work.
Hoping that the rest of the group will be able to deal with one wounded ogre, Elisile takes a step forward and keeps a careful watch through the open doorway at the corridor beyond with her bow drawn and ready, watching for any other denizens of the fort who might be alerted by the sounds of battle.
5 foot step forward to G2, Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20, ready action to shoot any enemies entering the corridor.

You can attempt to tumble out of harms way using Acrobatics.
I guess we’ll find out soon, because its his turn. ;-)
Anyway, knowing when to retreat might be based on wisdom, but combat tactics would be based more on intelligence, and tumbling away to let the heavy hitters move in is certainly a smart tactic at this point (well, if he’s got a decent acrobatics check), unless Camlo has something up his sleeve that we’re not aware of.

Never even occurred to me to check that.
Seeing how little damage Camlo has done to the beast, and how much it has just done to him, he jumps back (to E3, Acrobatics: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (17) + 17 = 34)

Illes Elandru |
Illes begins shouting at the ogre in some kind of language which seems to be heavy on the rolled consonants, then slips his wand through his belt and rubs several lightly oiled links of his chain shirt between thumb and two fingers. He points at the ogre and shouts something else as the ogre hook erupts in a thick layer of dripping oil.
Giant
"Ok fine! Let me help you with that..."
MA: Stow wand
SA: Cast Grease - Target: Ogre's hook
Reflex DC 15 or drop.
Save again every round for 6 minutes.
Seemed more useful than area effect which he could ignore if he made the first save by just staying in place.
Hudak |
after Alwin.....
Hudak sets himself; about to yell and curse, he remembers that stealth is at a premium, and he's got the devil's meatbill to pay the piper on.
2h, bastard sword, pow attack
Attack 1:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
to hit,
1d10 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22
damage if successful.
Attack 2:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
damage if successful
1d10 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
sorry; thought it was my go; I spoilered it all until Alwyn went.
Alwyn Agnarrson |
Alwyn rumbles up to the ogre and whacks it with his greatsword.
Move to C3 before attacking with Destructive Smite. Attack roll 14+8=AC 22, damage 9+4+3=16.
after Alwin.....
** spoiler omitted **
sorry; thought it was my go.
Don't forget you second attack!

Ogre save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The ogrehook falls from the giant's sausage-like fingers with a clang. Alwyn and Hudak then weigh in with their swords, hacking and smashing flesh and bone. The ogre is barely standing as it howls in frustration and attempts a hay-maker punch at Hudak's head.
Which, of course, provokes an AoO.
Elisile and Vethran:

AoO before he connects with Hudak's face: Attack roll 13+8=AC 21, damage 8+4=12.
Vethran Tallomane |
Looks like I got skipped in init between Hudak and the ogre.
Vethran looks to the end of the hallway and, with a look of surprise, he cries out "Incoming!"
Hastily, he abandons his previously charged spell and enacts a more devastating one on the approaching ogres.
Fireball. Centered on F-G/14-15. 9d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 6, 5, 3, 3, 6, 3) + 3 = 40 fire damage, Reflex DC 21 for half.
Elisile Starbrow |
Supposing that the sound of an exploding fireball is probably going to attract further attention, Elisile chooses to protect herself by quickly pulling out a scroll and casting blur on herself.
Camlo Zenovia |
Camlo takes the tiome to pull a potion from his backpack,a nd down the contents. Cure moderate wounds, looks like a sensible option right now, curing 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (6, 2) + 2 = 10 points of damage.
A fireball spell generates a searing explosion of flame that detonates with a low roar...The explosion creates almost no pressure.
The physicist in me really wants to know how something that creates "almost no pressure" can create a "dull roar"..
hey, it's magic ;)
Illes Elandru |
Illes draws another wand from its thigh holster and draws power from it to himself then reaches out to lay a hand on Hudak's back passing it along as a conduit for the charge.
MA: Draw wand
SA: Wand CLW 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Heals 4 damage and 4 nonlethal

Presumably because the gentle giggling of fairies doesn't sound dangerous enough?
Presuming you were referencing the spoiler...I find it odd, because I think a fireball that does force damage *and* makes a load noise, vs a fireball that does no force damage, and makes no noise, could give some funky options... But enough ranting...

As this AoO never happened, can I use the roll as a regular attack?

Elisile Starbrow |
“Make a quick search of the chamber,” Elisile suggests quietly. “I’ll keep an eye out here for further trouble.” She looks intently down the corridor, her bow once again raised.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Vethran Tallomane |
Vethran, finally getting a decent look at what the ogre was doing, visibly pales at the sight and quickly retreats into the stairwell they came in through, trying his best to keep down that morning's meal.
After a moment to compose himself, he comes back into the corridor, still looking a bit sick. "So, ah... I think I might've thought of something I could do differently after that last fireball. If there's no ogres just up around those corners, maybe we could take a brief respite while I work out the math in my spellbook? I think it could be a substantial boon to us all. I can also reload Elisile's rapier, if she likes."
Just need 15 minutes to fill up my FIVE new spell slots from the level up, if plausible.
