So what was the overall spread of Surges going around? I don't anyone to deplete themselves too much, but I also don't want the lion's share as I get a loaner from each member.

I have like 8, so I figure I could kick up to 4 your way; I'd rather kick 2.....I figure one more combat and it's time to bivouac anyway (universe allowing, of course).

I think the 2 would be fine, and I agree that we may not want to delve too much further, but we may still want to do something more if we have the ability. At least that way, there's less threat while extended resting, and less that needs to be done the next day.


MAP 42/42 hp

gart can kick two your way and still be fine. he stays mostly out of the hurts and already used his daily ability that works best when he has lots of surges so using them now isnt a big deal.

I agree with not going on too much further, Jareen is hitting the limit on surges etc too, but I still have some powers left, so we should push on a bit.

If Arakan gets two or three surges, we should be able to manage another combat which seems good.

Are we going to hole up in here for an extended rest? How do we want to work that? May as well have it figured when Aubs returns.

Why is rolling for HP required. Arakan is full from Gart's heal. He was just out of surges. I don't think the Ritual uses HP either just surges.

Furio, you can just give 3, I don't need 4 and as a Defender you should need them more than I do. At least in caves you and Th'Kal should be up front to take hits.

When you said you would heal, I rolled and spent my last 2 surges to put me at 0. Then Jareen mentioned his ritual.

So Gart has 8, Th'kal 4, Furio 8. I think Jareen is low, and I think the ritual requires a surge to be lost to do. If I get 3 of Furio's, maybe Gart can spend for the ritual and give aJareen a surge or 2 from his own.

I don't think anyone loses a surge, they just get moved about. But there can be only one recipient I think.

Either way, I think we are ready for Aubs' return.

The ritual can only give surges to one participant, as far as I can tell. However, there's nothing stopping you doing it more than once - you have time. Also, the person doing the ritual must sacrifice a surge, so doing it twice will cause Jareen to lose two surges. If people are happy to sub him a couple of extra surges, we are all good.

While performing this ritual, you and up to 5 participants in the ritual can choose to lose any number of healing surges and select another participant to gain an equal number of healing surges. No participant can have more healing surges than his or her daily maximum. Additionally, you or one participant must lose 1 healing surge when performing this ritual.

I don't think Jareen has to lose any, but someone has to lose one that doesn't get transferred for each run of it.

Ah, OK. It sort-of comes out the same in the wash, but useful to know. I didn't see a definitive reassignment of the healing surges - can we please get that down so we can all agree on where the situation now is. Perhaps someone should make a decision for the greater group, based on what works out best, to be ratified by the party as a whole?

If the plan is only one more combat, I'm ok with that. I've not surged *during* combat yet. Only after, so if we plan to rest after the next fight he should be ok.

If we have time to do this multiple times, and someone wanted to give him one or two, I wont argue though!

I'll erase three more, and Jareen can do the ritual again and then he'll have 3 surges.

Remember that each use of this ritual "uses up" a surge from someone. In other words, if the participants give up four surges the recipient gets three. So in your example above, Arakan and Jareen gain three surges and two surges, respectively. Also, Ruscer's surge number may not be accurate, which makes it important to update your character sheet, though I expect he spare a surge.

I was really torn on this last action. I wanted to SA the Half-giant, but I also wanted to Shout of Triumph the archers. I looked at poisoning the Half-giant, but if I did, I couldn't have used my SA. Considered my daily, but also would not have gotten SA, and I don't know if the fight will be long enough to need what it offers. In the end it was the SA that won out, and at least I'll still be invisible to the HG until after he goes next.
