[Ooc]double move so i did two in case it was needed.

The dinosaur herd stampedes. The ones on the track either side of the river dash into the forest, but the two in the water panic and crash downriver away from the immediate threat. The rest of the allosaurus then spring their trap, bursting out to leap upon the nearest fleeing dinosaur. But the other continues on, straight towards the canoes.
Vaard.
Wultram Denka |
Wultram raises his paddle over his head trying to make himself look big and screams at the top of his lungs hoping to get the animal to change direction. The mage then joins in the effort to get the canoe on the opposite shore.
Eshsheth follow the example of Cole and Nalvarren to get the canoe moving.

On initiative 0...
The first two boats somehow manage to get to shore as the fleeing dinosaur careers down the river. But Wultram flounders and Ashshar's expertise isn't enough to the change the canoe's direction. At Wultram's yell, one of the allosaurus turns its muzzle curiously in his direction.
I also note that we don't have an initiative score from Otto - could you roll, please?

Wultram Denka |
The skeleton follows it's earlier orders and nocks an arrow getting ready to shoot.
Ashshar tries to get the canoe to join the others on the shore.
Skeleton readies an action to shoot a dinosour that combat starts with.
Prof canoe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 The dice really doesn't want us on that shore.
Rehil Ecraish |
As the canoe grounds on the bank, Rehil exhanges his paddle for his meager bundle of weapons and gear. He slips over the gunwale and clambers onto dry ground, slinging his sword and quiver over his head and shoulder.
Grab gear and move to U25.
Cole. |
Cole drops his paddle in the canoe and stands up, his heavy frame making the little vessel shake. He balls both metal fists together and slams them into the nearest dinosaur … trying to make it more afraid of his team than of the predators chasing it.
”Eshsheth. Nalverren. Get ashore and help Wultram’s boat. I’ll follow quickly!”
Stand from prone, Rage, power attack the Hadrosaur.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
The allosaurus upriver plunges along the riverbed in pursuit of its prey. In a spray of foam it leaps at the hadrosaur, bearing it down with bites to the back of the neck and ripping back claws. The battling giants splash down barely feet from Cole, their struggles making the canoe leap in the water.
Cole, since you are standing up, DC 15 Acrobatics check or you fall in.
Nalverren.
Nalverren |
Nalverren will get out of the canoe, and (assuming there is one) grab a rope attached to the canoe and pull it around a tree to get the craft on shore. (basically using a nearby sturdy tree as a pulley to more efficiently use my strength)
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
OK, that sounds like more than one rounds actions. Also, since this is basically a hollowed log, I'm not sure it has all of that fancy rope stuff. But you can get up and get out of the canoe.
On the other side of the river, the allosaurus bring down the plant-eater. The one next to Cole kicks fitfully at its attacker.
Vaard.
Vaard |
Vaard notices an opening, and quickly gestures to Otto as to when to move.
Initiating Pride Movement (swift action) to grant Otto a move action.
Subsequently, he leaps out of the canoe and dashes towards the remaining dinosaurs.
Double move to Q20.
Otto ir'Kaspardt |
Otto feels the rush, and moves with it, towards Nalverren and the other canoe (S22), bringing his longspear to bear, but as he watches Vaard get snapped at and the mad flesh feasting going on around him on a gigantic scale, he pauses. For a breath.
This was no place for a diplomat from Thaliost. What had he been thinking exactly when he boarded that ship?! But yet, here he was, and the jungle was slowly being consumed by blood and fire, and he could do something about it. More than words...
His spear firmly held, he asks his god for strength and moves in: "Grant me the fervour I need! Turn those old muscles to steel!"
Casting Divine Favor, then move to S18.
Wultram Denka |
Wultram decides that they really now need to get out of the way as things are falling apart so he just concentrates on getting the canoe ashore.
Prof Canoe: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Rehil Ecraish |
Rehil watches the others rush toward the dinosaur combat.
"What are you doing?!"
Aubrey, R moved to U25 last turn.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Rehil Ecraish |
Eshsheth looks back for Cole, and then at the two dinosaurs nearby. He elects to exit toward his left unto dry ground and scarpers inland.
U22
Did Cole go right to the bottom or do warforged float? And if they float does that mean that they weigh the same as a duck and soooo ???
Hey there's trees on the banks right? How much cover, concealment, or protection from dinosaurs do they offer?
Serious on both questions.
Cole. |
Cole's got Adamantine body, so I'm guessing he doesn't float. I don't know how deep the water is right here on the edge, though. hopefully that'll help me out a little.
It would be good to know what kind of effort it's going to take to get Cole out of the water? Just difficult terrain? Or some climbing/swimming?
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Wultram Denka |
The skeleton loses two arrows at the Hadrosaur, somehow managing to totally miss the massive target. While Ashshar starts heading to the shore pulling out a javelin, trying to join the group.
Not sure what sort of terrain does the canoe count as so no spesific location for Ashshar The general direction of towards Rehil.

the dice are lucky they are not physical because they would get burned.
Arrows: 17
Rehil Ecraish |
"Ashshar, haul up the canoes." Rehil shakes his head and, keeping an eye on the dinosaurs, edges toward the river's bank looking for Cole.
I'd like to move to R22 or preferably R24 and aid another to get Cole out of the water, but if the hadrosaur moves south, I'd rather run. Interpret that as you will, Aubrey.
Hey, Aubrey, on the faster than 30' slower than 30' scale, how would we rate the allosaur's speed based on what we saw of the attack?
Cole. |
The water cools Cole's systems, and he begins dragging his heavy frame from the dino-churned water. At the sight of his teammates running towards the colossal struggle, Cole roars in alarm.
"What are you doing?! Run! Find cover!"
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Cole's speed is 35. Assuming that roll is good enough, he'll travel around the north end of the canoe (which should provoke from the Hadrosaur). Then, from the square to the right of the top-most square of the canoe (R.22, I think) ...
Cole grabs the canoe, ready to try to drag it ashore as the team retreats.
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Nalverren |
Nalverren assists Cole pulling the canoe ashore, intent on not losing the canoe.
Deranged_Maniac_Ben |
Vaard steps forwards to Q19, and mentally focuses his jaws into disrupting the allosaurus' movement with a bite:
Initiating Dizzying Venom Prana (swift action)
Bite, standard action
bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
1d4 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (5) = 10
After initiating this boost, the next melee or ranged attack that the disciple makes staggers his foe for 1 round. In addition, if the target fails a Fortitude save (DC 11 + initiation modifier), the target also suffers 2 points of Wisdom damage. This is a supernatural ability.
Fortitude save DC is 14
Wultram Denka |
Wultram reaches into his backpack to get his rope and starts to tie it to the canoe so any possible dragging of it will be easier. "Decision people we fight or retreat, and that decision needs to come NOW!" The mage screams, he doubts their chances of outrunning the beasts but the meal might be luring enough to not pursue.
Rehil Ecraish |
"We are running!" Rehil shouts back. "We just need to secure the canoes."
Rehil Ecraish |
Worried about Vaard, afraid of two and a half tons of teeth and muscle, Eshsheth vacillates between running and stepping forward to help his lizardfolk comrade.
Eshsheth delays.
E is a druid but he's only level 1. His best spell here is calm animals, but I think it's unlikely to work. I'd save it as a desperation play if things really go south. But anyone else can jump in.
Skeleton
Aubrey, how are we doing hauling canoes up?
Wultram Denka |
"Ignore the target, save transportation." Comes the simple command. Skeleton starts following and grabs the rope from the mages hands and starts heading to shore so it can begin dragging it up.
Ashshar joins in the plan of retreat and moves back to take hold of the rope.
