Sadly I had nothing to target will save unless humanoid.(or undead)Was hoping that the high DC would have worked. Well at least Rehil has the option for sneak attack available.
Anyways reason for posting I noticed Ashshar does not have an initiative, put him last maybe?
Rehil Ecraish |
He'd meant to stay safe and ply his bow, but the opportunity is too good to pass up. The elf follows on Wultram's heels while Nalverren distracts it. He pitches his bow aside and draws his sword, that motion smoothly turning into a sweeping strike at the lizard's flank.
Curve blade, flank, inspire courage: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 29 ... damage, SA: 1d10 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (10) + 4 + (2) = 16
Move to T10.
If I can wait and drop the bow enroute, I'll leave it in T12. Let me know if it has to stay in S14 instead.
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 23 ... damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
If only I could have reached the chief.
COLE!
Yet another edit: Does inspire courage net me another +2 damage?

Cole drops the longspear in favor of Pooma’s war maul. His internal war engines churn to life as he brings the weapon thundering down on the creature’s head.
Rage, switch weapons, then power attack the big creature (including power attack, flank, and Inspire +1)
war maul: 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 11 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 32 <— CRIT?
damage: 2d6 + 9 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 + 6 + 1 = 23

—> add’l damage: 4d6 + 18 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 1) + 18 + 12 + 2 = 42
total damage: 23 + 42 = 65

Rehil grins across the corpse at Cole.
Ashshar dashes forward, mouting the dead lizard's jaw, hurdling the frill and launching a javelin at Yleshshi from the lizard's back.
Ashshar, Javelin, inspire courage: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9 ... damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

Vaard zigzags forwards towards the lizardfolk chief, taking care to avoid leaving himself vulnerable.
Move to R8, via S12->S11->R10->Q9->R8 to avoid triggering an attack of opportunity.
When he reaches the chief, he bites, attempting to momentarily distract his foe to give Nalverren an extra chance to strike.
Using Hunting Party, granting Nalverren an AoO if the following attack hits:
bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
1d4 + 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + (2) + 3 = 7

AoO if it comes up in response to Vaard's maneuver
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Rehil Ecraish |
And Nalverren's regular turn, then Wultram.
Rehil turns from Cole, to see Ylyeshi's claws rake the Karn. The elf's grin fades.
Big strong, but not a strategist.

Wultram Denka |
Wultram grunts in brain as the claw digs into his flesh, fire lights up in his eyes. "I'll have your head!" The mage screams before ducking back trying to keep his defenses up. With the spell finished his hand glows with the imbued negative energy that he slams against the chief. Getting ready to leap back if the attack failed.
Cast defensivly: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Anyway, correct, Sickened not Nauseated.
CDG = coup de grace, i think

"Excellent work, Wultram," Cole monotones as he circles around the chief, raises his war maul, and slams it down.
Move to S7; Power Attack.
War maul: 1d20 + 11 + 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 11 + 2 - 2 + 2 = 21
damage: 2d6 + 9 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 9 + 6 + 1 = 19
CDG coming next round ... had to get into position.

Ashshar raises up his morningstar with both hands before bringing it crashing down with massive force.
CDG damage: 2d8 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 + (4) = 18 Fort save DC 28 or die, assuming the damage itself doesn't do the job.
Wultram Denka |
Wultram casts a simple spell to remove worst of the wounds on his side. He looks at the others. "Do we want to make an example here?" The mages gaze moves towards the now deceased chiefs corpse. "Either way we should get moving soon before the poisondusk realize their protector here is dead and they escape." Karn adds.

Good point. So detect magic away.
Wultram casts a spell and starts looking over the chiefs equipment. "A message sent to the others that it would be unwise to challenge us. Intimidation tactics. Make sure the body is found in a condition that suggest fate worse than quick death in battle, mount head on a spear, all sorts of things one can do to play with the minds of ones foe. In our situation however things viewed as distasteful might make things harder with the new leadership." Wultram answers Vaard without raising his gaze.

New XP at 8,581. Anyone confirm that?
Cole smashes his own weapon once more into the chief, nodding to Ashshar. “No reason not to double-check.”
He nods along to Wultram, but adds his own thoughts. “Kuuori obviously has plans for what’s to come next, but we have an opportunity here. Let’s deal with the poisondusk if we can, but let’s see about starting talks for Tharashk. We came to learn about a possible war, but how much more valuable would we be if we started talks to guarantee further peaceful shard-delving rights?”
He looks around, "We are the agents to bring about this power shift among the lizardfolk tribes. We have some authority here."
Nalverren |
"It's a gamble. But, like all gambles, it could work out."

A little Earlier Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Covering his mouth and nose with his hand, Rehil turns his head away from the chief with a grimace. After a few seconds he recovers. "Wultram, next time, save that one until I an dead." But his grin belies his words, somewhat.
Now
"Don't walk past the chief." Giving the corpse a wide berth, the elf glides forward stooping low over the ground, examining the floor.
Looking for clues as to which passage the chief entered from.
survival (track): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23

Otto ir'Kaspardt |
Otto winces at the brutal slaughter of the chief, but he knows a similar fate awaited them soon enough.
"Us or them..." he mutters to himself. Finally, he unlocks his gaze from the terrible sight and proceeds to follow his companions, too shocked to think properly about possible repercussions for the moment. "He fought with honour..." he reminds himself, his companions, and perhaps the gods, as he makes his way through the tunnel.
Wultram Denka |
Wultram starts removing the harness to examine it properly. "Give me but a moment." He grins at Rehill. "Necromancy is not pretty but it gets the job done." The mage focuses on the item trying to learn it's secrets.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Wultram Denka |
"I think it increases pysical prowress...again I think...the chief was wearing it so it is unlikely to be a cursed item. Anyone else care to look this over?" The mage notes.
"Likely relatively powerful item, based on the guess that I am not a novice and could not make sense of it and usually the more powerful magic is harder to figure out than lesser power." He adds as an afterthought.
Rehil Ecraish |
Rehil looks up from the floor. "Lots of finback tracks to the right. But there's large and small tracks going left. The shaman is probably that way."
The elf straightens fully and walks back to retrieve his bow.
"Cole. Vaard."
Rehil Ecraish |
Rehil sheathes his sword and follows the others, nocking an arrow on his bowstring as he walks.
Nalverren |
Nalverren follows the group, his blade still ready and his eyes scanning the area as they move forward.

His words are cut off as he spins to point his longspear at the compost heap, his fabricated muscles taut. "It's moving."
