"Does anyone have a better plan than to take the dragons' gear, find this Grinnersen, and discover who hired him? Is there a better way to protect Da'Sheth?"
Tal'Va'Nocht |
"Well, for now, there's not a great deal of choice. However, we should keep our eyes open, and not get stuck into the idea that this is the only way. I think Wultrums research in the libraries is still worth persuing. Also, given the dragon prophecy in the chasm, that may give us an idea."
Nalverren |
"Definitely. No need for us to all sit around doing nothing. The library is a great idea, I might spend a chunk of my day there myself. And the prophecy here too, how interesting. I'd also want to take a look at that, even before the library."
Rehil Ecraish |
Rehil shrugs. "I'll be no use in the library unless you fear a knife in the back. I'm willing to look at this prophecy."
Wultram |
"Initially I was hoping to visit one of the great libraries, still a settlement of this size should probably have one or something equilevant. Though given the residents I am not sure it would be unfiltered stream of knowledge." Wultram clarifies. "But yes I would say the prophecy takes presedence if for not other reason than to learn about motives of certain pair that would benefit from glass stomachs."
Nalverren |
"Ah, I need to scribble my list up as well."
Wultram |
I think we got the short story from what I assume. I haven't and don't intend to touched those spoilers.
So far:
-Bribes
-Go to this town
-Find out who employed a guy whose name I am too lazy to check.
Nalverren |
i hit the wave-tops, in character. there was discussion, at least between Tal and Nal
Rehil Ecraish |
They're not bribes; they're gifts from enlightened allies. We're headed for Regalport, the Jewel of the Lhazzar Principalities. And we're looking for Grinnersen who runs the outfit that left us for dead at Da'Sheth.
Cole. |
Once again making sure they are not overheard, Cole goes back to something from the earlier conversation. “One other thing that stood out to me, though I don’t know what to do with it. They gave us some information about Targryn, another of the names we received. Apparently that’s the name of a Cannith artificer who was based out of Eston before the Day of Mourning. Into some strange work, to hear it, trying to meld warforged parts onto humans … whether they were willing or not. Apparently he had to go underground, with a Sentinel Marshall’s warrant on him. No one’s seen him since, but I don’t know what to make of how he could play into our task.”
Tal'Va'Nocht |
"The dragon who was killed was still alive in that contraption, despite it being attached to him internally and externally, I would say that trying to give an arm like yours to a human like Nalvarren would seem very similar to putting machinery into a dragon."
Wultram |
"Could be that even if not directly involved it might have been based on his research." Wultram muses. "Not excatly my expertise, and house Cannith didn't excatly make it public knowledge how your kin was created."
Cole. |
We talked about visiting the pit. And if this city has a decent library (or similar research capabilities, that might be worth the effort while we wait for our gear to be prepped.
Nalverren |

Rehil Ecraish |
Rehil doesn't set policy. He'll let the others decide. A quick recon trip to the pit disguised as sight seeing in the city might be in order, just so we don't get lost on our way there. And so we know if there are any guards on the way. Ohh and confirm whether our airship is still here.

The adventurers ask around. One of the citizens of Krezent helpfully points them in the direction of an impressive-looking building. Inside they find the main library, with what appear to be thousands of scrolls stacked on shelves.
A shulassakar librarian approaches them, her feathers green and black. "Can I assist?"
Tal'Va'Nocht |
"I would like books, in Kasatha, Draconic, or Celestial, on general history, and any books on the Kasatha." Tal says in response.
Rehil Ecraish |
Is there anything like a martial training center? Might as well gage the competition.
Nalverren |
"Have anything on the Draconic Prophecy? I assume you do."
Cole. |
As the group heads to the library, Rehil's idea perks Cole up a bit. "That sounds fun," he monotones as he finds the nearest citizen.
"Is there a place we can practice combat? A training grounds or martial yard?"

"Hmm, seems odd but not unreasonable. Where may I find the Chief Librarian?"
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |
Outside:
The shulassakar says, "The Wardens train at the temple barracks. I suggest you try there," pointing towards a large building on the far side of the chasm.
We'll go to spoilers now, not for any particular secrecy but simply because the party is divided again (you can look at each others spoilers if you like).
At the library:
At the barracks:
Tal'Va'Nocht |
Tal shakes his head. "I did not ask for those, although I would be interested, and I believe my rank and position in the Draconic Armies would entitle me to such things. However, first I asked for histories in Draconic, Kasatha, and Celestial, as well as any books on Kasatha." He repeats his request slowly, to ensure that there is no confusion this time.
Nalverren |
Rehil Ecraish |
"We want to train here while we are in Krezent." Rehil says simply.

Library:
Meanwhile, the female librarian brings a stack of books for Tal. "These are general histories, covering the Demon Wars onwards. We have nothing in Kasatha - that's not a language with which I am familiar - but there are some treatises I have included which contain mentions. Please let me know if you need anything else."

The elf knows better than to interrupt a teacher, especially a warrior. He listens with interest, but hangs back and waits for their guide to interrupt.

The lizardfolk tags along with the muscle aficionados looking for some training.
Once inaide and as they approach the lecture, his curiosity gets the best of him and the lizardfolk stops to listen the lesson.

Sorry about being awol, my grandmother died nuff said.
Cole. |
Sorry to hear about your grandmother, Wultram.

The creature on the board was fascinating, but certainly not anything he'd ever seen before. He leans down to Rehil, elbowing the elf and trying to keep his monotone voice low, pitched for only his group.
"Tie it up with its own tentacles?"

Meanwhile, Tal catches up on what has happened in Eberron since he was caught up in the backwash of the ritual. Of his own time there are only the vaguest hints. It would appear that the couatl's sacrifice was one hundred millennia ago from the present, which he realises is probably one hundred generations even for the dragons and an unfathomably long time ago for recorded history to survive for shorter-lived races. He finds a few fleeting references to the kasatha race in the books when discussing the latter states of the Age of Demons, but nothing about their current disposition.
Reading on he finds that at least two Ages have risen and fallen since then, empires that lasted for thousands of years but fell to dust and ruin while he slumbered below Da'sheth. Giants rose on the southern continent of Xendrik, forming a powerful and magically-capable civilisation that was mentored by the dragons of Argonessen. That was ultimately brought to its knees by a planar incursion from Dal Quor, the realm of dreams - ultimately defeated but at great cost - and then destroyed by civil war. The giants attempts to use incredibly powerful magic to end the war caused the decisive intervention of the dragons, who turned against their former pupils and left Xendrik a land of wild magic and cyclopean ruins.
After that, in Khorvaire at least, a militaristic empire of goblinoids arose that, in the end, was also weakened by a planar intrusion, this time from Xoriat, the realm of madness. A coalition of hobgoblins and orcs finally closed the gates to Xoriat, but again fatally weakened the empire. It fell into petty kingdoms that were finally extinguished by human invaders from the continent of Sarlona that ultimately formed the dominant civilisation on Khorvaire.
Need anything else or want to dig deeper into anything?
As Tal reads, the Chief Librarian says to Nalverren. "As you wish."
Is there anything that Nalverren is particularly interested in, Prophecy-wise?

"I am Instructor Siless," she says in a no-nonsense tone. "I run the training regime for the Wardens. I know who you are so there is no need to waste time on introductions. I understand that you wish to drill with us. For what purpose?"

Wultram strolls of from rest of the group. To start off with he starts looking for information of every invidual in that meeting he removed himself from. Should he still have time left he will move onto the person whose work is suspected to be involved regarding the contraption that by all logic should have killed him, especially anything relating to their projects.

Just use them in order, since I do not know what spesific knowledge is used for each here are the modifiers.(Not counting any possible bonuses that the library may give on topic.) Religion and Arcana are +10 the rest are +1 and untrained(though library can if extensive enough remove the cap of DC 10)
Tal'Va'Nocht |
Tal will sigh and then thank the librarians. "Thank you very much. If you are not opposed, I will also look through the books you have on dragon prophecy. I may have a unique perspective. The Ancient one was somewhat talkative between battles. I believe even the dragons were weary of the war at the end."
Nope, I kind of new some of that, but Tal would have still looked them up. As far as the dragon prophecy, anything that mentions a returning warrior of ancient days, or dragons dying to break the seals, or anything along those lines. Also anything that might be different from anything he read or was told about the prophecies during the war. That much time, even dragons can have forgotten something, or added things that were not there originally, which could cause major problems. Also keep an eye out for anything that might look like someone copied 5 pages of words over and over in a one inch area like in the Belgariad. :)

Rehil stands upon the woman's approach. Her comment draws a frown. ". To train. We will be here some time. We want to stay sharp."
