That would've been a nice roll for combat.....heh heh.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 Nature Check

And while we are not busy using a healing surge... 31/32 hps and 6/7 surges now.

@Aubrey What exp should Sefra and I have since we came in part way? Just go with whatever Aleph has as he's the radish king, I mean team leader? :p

You reckon you can salvage a portion of moon radishes per square remaining. You'll need to give one portion to Svetlana to complete her quest. Other than that, each portion is a man-day of rations.

Yes - you all have the same number of xp.

Aleph picks over the corpses but finds nothing much - these were a fairly impoverished bunch of kobolds, with poor equipment and little treasure. However, he finds that one of the kobolds was using a dagger, clearly not of kobold manufacture, that piques his curiosity. Examining it carefully, and the infernal motif on its hilt, he realises that this is an item of Chelish manufacture, made by the acolytes of Asmodeus to channel their borrowed power to more deadly effect. Clearly the kobold didn't know what was its scavenged dagger, but Aleph recognises a Chelaxian pact blade when he sees one.

Pact Blade +1, p235 of the PHB.

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

"This.....is Chelaxian.....a pact dagger.
I wonder how the doglizard ended up with it....hmm....it's a warlock's implement."
looks around at the people who DID and TOOK way more damage than he; then.....
"well, I think I of all of us will be the most logical recipient of this implementum focii.... though you're all welcome to say as why you each individually would have a legitemate claim to this sweet, sweet, stabracadabrick infernale....."

(Male Half-elf Paladin 3)

"If you can use it, take it. The kobold certainly doesn't need it anymore."

Terra Everbloom wrote:

I have 833 xp.

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

healing surge....much better now.

If I can do so without rolling a nature check, I'll harvest one unit of radishes for Svetlana; else I'll leave it to the expert woodsfolk, so as not to spoil the brew as it were.

Debit self one pact dagger +1.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

80 Rations +18-1(quest) radishes= 97 rations (day 2)

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

"We have so. Much food.
Were there any people back at the village that were lacking food? If so, we should be able to help them abundantly."
Aleph muses.
"I remember, when I was small. On the streets. The churches would feed you sometimes. Otherwise, well....if you don't eat, you don't grow."

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

"Yes. A radish. In every pot...."

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

Using a surge
"Bah radishes. Always hated those things, what is so special about these?"

It's not what the radishes are, it is what they represent.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

"Continue surveying this area before taking the moonradish back?"

Aleph wrote:

A reminder for all spending healing surges during the short rest, you gain surge+3 HP due to Hasren's Song of Rest class feature.

"Naturally we are victorious! The vermin flee before the might and majesty of TRUE Dragon-power!" Marc preens and flashes his dazzling smile.

Use 1 healing surge +bonus puts me back to full HP!

"Well,... I can't say that radishes are my favorite foodstuffs. BUT I hear they can be fermented." He shrugs, "Not that I have brewed anything myself. Although My family's brewers are very good at their task."

(Male Half-elf Paladin 3)

After using one surge, I'm only 3 hp down. I've used three surges so far, so I have 10 left for the day.

"Food's food. Want to go after the kobold, keeping in mind that that path may have more traps on it?"

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

"I'm game. I am nowhere near shooting my wad for the day."
he fondles his knew stabby.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

Terra whispers to Sefra... "Remind me to sleep away from Aleph's area for the next few nights...."

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

Nods somberly.

"Very well! Then let us pursue the vile miscreant into what is almost certain to be an ambush!" Marc declares with a devil-may-care grin.

"Um,... After you!" He adds as an afterthought, motioning Aleph to go first.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

No one ever said it but can I assume that was a short rest since Sefra came back and we healed etc.?

"You may want Sefra to start leading us since she knows where at least the first tripwire is."

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

Sefra readily agrees, but eyes Aleph wearily. "You stay back a good 10 feet."

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

"I can blast the tripwires with eldritch force, if I know where they are."

From the back Hasren calls out "And I can get him back on his feet if it doesn't flat-out kill him!"

The party heads after the kobold. Sefra points out the tripwire she noticed earlier so the others can step over it, and she also notices the pit trap a bit further on, which they walk around. Eventually, in a thick tangle of bushes, they come across a small cleft in the ground which seems to lead deeper. However, it looks like it will be a struggle for anyone bigger than a kobold to get through.

Marc looks at the small hole with obvious disdain. He glances to the others.

"What? Oh, you can't be serious,..." He says in a mixture of revulsion and fear, glancing again at the hole.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

"Do we bury this hole and let them eventually dig their way out if they don't have another way already, or do we take care of them now..." "I don't fancy crawling around in there especially if it gets any tighter..." "But I also don't fancy leaving enemies behind me..."

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

"I saw we build a fire in the mouth and fan the smoke into it, and then once the fire is going well pile more wood on and let it stew for a bit."

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

"I'm good at fire...."

(Male Half-elf Paladin 3)

"I'm the smallest of us, and I still won't fit in there..." Heimoth shrugs apologetically. "I like the idea of smoking them out, though."

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

"There might be females. Young. Or innocent prisoners therein."
then;
"Let's get some really really wet leaves going."

What's the plan?

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

"Sefra and I can start gathering leaves, then between Aleph, Marc, and I we should be able to get a smokey fire going."

Marc looks much happier with the idea of smoking them out.

"Fire is good. Fire, I can do!" he says with a grin.

'SMoke'em Dan-o!' is MArc's vote! :)

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

Sefra stats gathering leaves and twigs into a pile near the entrance.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Perception Check <-- I typoed on the perception should be 2 higher. I have a base 12

Assuming I don't notice anything Terra will start digging an indention in the ground to put the leaves in at the cave entrance have to be forest fire conscious.....

OK, Nature check please.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22Nature Check

The fire is soon smoking merrily, somehow without setting the rest of the stand alight. However, there is little activty beyond that from the tunnel entrance.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

@ Aubrey

Spoiler:
Is it possible to use Chill Wind at will to blow the smoke further into the cave?

Marc looks a little concerned at the lack of response from the smoke.

"Do you suppose that they have a back door?,..." he asks the others.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

"I would say it's extremely likely, or that the cave system is so big that this smoke hasn't had a chance to go deep enough... if that were the case we might be here awhile... It's possible the tunnel gets bigger after the entrance, we could excavate a little and see once we are sure the smoke isn't working. "

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

"Maybe we could make some type of rudimentary lathe to help make shovels or picks? To make digging easier. Or maybe Terra can shapeshift into something small."

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

Terra whines "Terra the panther is shorter than me but longer so I'd probably squeeze in... but I hate enclosed spaces...."

Terra pleads "Can we try something else first???"

(Male Half-elf Paladin 3)

"I'll go first." Heimoth puts down his big shield. "Let's see if I can squeeze in wearing my real armour first."

(m Human Warlock 3 exp 2318 (infernal boon))

I'll go.....next....ish.

(Female Elf Druid 3 2168xp)

"If I have to I'll go but I won't like it..." Terra says poutingly...

Whoever is going in: Acrobatics check.

(Female Elf level 3 monk)

Going in bethind Terra 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
